We have an ongoing Dragonlance (Shadows of the Dragon Queen) campaign that is being ported over to 2024 rules. I have a character with the Initiate of High Sorcery and Adept of High Sorcery feats. Unfortunately, the versions of these feats in D&D Beyond only allow one to select legacy (2014) versions of spells. I tried to copy the feats and homebrew versions to overcome this problem, but it's not working. For instance, if I copy the Initiate of High Sorcery feat and try to modify it as homebrew, then it will not allow me to choose charisma as the spellcasting ability. By default, there is an option for choosing the spellcasting ability attached to the feat, but this lists Intelligence and Wisdom only. This option is not listed under the "Options" for the feat, so I don't how how to delete or change it.
Also, minor point, but does anyone know how to add the "dot source" to the feat name in the correct (unbolded) font? When copying a feat to homebrew, the source information is removed from the name of the feat.
We can’t access that part of the feat in the homebrewer. Luckily for you, you don’t need the choice and can just make your version use straight Charisme the whole way.
No, we can’t designate a source, the source for our feats is automatic “homebrew” since that’s what it is.
Thanks for the feedback. With your input, I was able to create working HB versions of the two feats.
BTW, do you have any recommendations for how to track the Life Channel feature of Adept of the Black Robes in D&D Beyond? Using Life Channel, when a target fails against a leveled spell, the caster can expend hit dice equal to the level of the spell and add the total to the damage. I'd like to be able to record hit dice expended on Life Channel once they have been used in this way. I don't necessarily need the damage calculated or added automatically. The problem is that D&D Beyond only records an expenditure of hit dice when I activate the short rest button. I could probably create an action for the AoBR feat and designate boxes for a number of uses equal to the character's level, but this would be tracked separately from the actual hit dice in the short rest pop-up and run the risk of overusing the resource.

Sorry, I only just saw your question. Yeah, no…. The best way to possibly do it is with an Action like you already mentioned.
