I've just created a homebrew monster for an upcoming campaign, and I decided to create a variant of the creature for fun. Is there any way to use my homebrew monster file as a base for another?
I've made copies of my own homebrew content by selecting it under the "Select an existing [content type] as a template", but it doesn't look like you can use other people's homebrew you've added to your collection.
I hope they add it because people have great ideas on homebrew, but they tend to be lazy and don't actually add all the options correctly so that they appear within the character sheet (e.g. spells are listed in the description, but never added to the spell list). For DMs like me who have players who have a hard time remembering what they've selected, it makes a lot of potentially great homebrew options unusable.
Honestly, this kinda sucks. When I want to create 3 or 4 variations of the same monster, I have to do everything from scratch on each monster rather than using my own previously created monster as a template and changing a few things. In dire need of a Quality of Life change.

You can already do it. Just go to “create homebrew [whatever]” and select your own homebrew as the template upon which to base the new thing.
Okay, so it allows you to do so if you leave Creature Type as All, it seems. I was creating Constructs, so I set Creature Type to Construct and my homebrew did not appear in the list.

Do I have to subscribe to do that with subclasses?

This doesn't seem to work for Subclasses. Is it not possible to copy homebrew subclasses?
yeah I want to create a variant to a subclass I made, but that isn't available, bummer!
Do I have to subscribe to do that with subclasses?
My Brews:
Race: Tropical Dwaves Spells: Summon Spirits Rites of Mummification
Monster: Osprey Feat: Skill Mastery–Animal Handler (Provides DCs for training animals applicable to those with and without this feat)
Oh, no, unfortunately the only things it doesn’t work for are subclasses, subraces, and variant races. It works for everything else though. You can find this information in the General Homebrew FAQ, question #11, and much, much more in the rest of the FAQs as well: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq#GeneralHomebrewFAQ&BasicTroubleshooting).
