when my subclass is selected, it's supposed to make you choose 1 out of the possible 5 options, and that choice does not come back again, however when i playtest it, it either doesn't display the otptions at all, or it lets you select them all... what do?
Assuming that your subclass is chosen at 3rd level (since most are):
At the bottom of that particular subclass feature, It asks for
Required Class Level
Display Order
Has Options
Class Levels Where Options Know
“Has Options” is a checkbox (that should be checked)
Class Levels Where Options Know. That last one is what you need. If they get one option at 3rd-level, then you have to put “3” in that field. (If they get two options at 3rd-level, and another at 6th, you would put “3,3,6” in that field.)
The part im struggling with is it's not meant to allow extra options of higher levels, it's essentially choosing a singular path that you cannot change or add to as it evolves around that choice
Right. I’m not sure how you set it up, but if you set it up like this the player should get to pick one option for their character at “X” level, and not get another choice after that.
Create subclass
Create subclass feature for that level (presuming 3rd for this example*) and at the bottom of the feature you see a big field called “multiclass description.” Right underneath that you should see:
Required Class Level
Display Order
Has Options
Class Levels Where Options Know
Hide in Builder
Hide in Sheet
[SAVE]
“Required Class Level” should be 3rd as per our example.* “Has Options” is a checkbox (that should be checked)
Class Levels Where Options Know. That is what you need. If they get one option at 3rd-level, then you have to put “3” in that field. That’s it.
***
Create one option for each choice you want them the have available. (My example will presume 5 options.^)
At the bottom of each option you see a big field called “multiclass description.” Right underneath that you should see:
Is Granted
Required Class Level
Prerequisite Class Feature
Prerequisite Text
[Create Option/SAVE]
”Is Granted” is a checkbox (that should NOT be checked). “Required Class Level” = 3rd
If the subclass has other features at higher levels that are supposed to have benefits that are entirely dependent on that first choice they made, then you need to do this one of two ways.
If you wanted each of those initial 5 options to grant a future choice, maybe 1 of 2 here like an option tree.
Create subclass feature for that level (presuming 6th for this example*) and at the bottom of the feature you see a big field called “multiclass description.” Right underneath that you should see:
Required Class Level
Display Order
Has Options
Class Levels Where Options Know
Hide in Builder
Hide in Sheet
[SAVE]
“Required Class Level” should be 6th as per our example.* “Has Options” is a checkbox (that should be checked)
Class Levels Where Options Know. That is what you need. If they get one option at 6th-level*, then you have to put “6” in that field.
***
Create one option for each choice you want them to potentially have available regardless of the initial choice.
At the bottom of each option you see a big field called “multiclass description.” Right underneath that you should see:
Is Granted
Required Class Level
Prerequisite Class Feature
Prerequisite Text
[Create Option/SAVE]
”Is Granted” is a checkbox. If they would get another choice at this level, that should NOT be checked. “Required Class Level” = 6th* “Prerequisite Class Feature” should be the initial choice that they made. (“3rd-level Feature Name—Option #1-5” presuming the original 5 options.)
If everything is decided by that 1st choice at level 3, and everything granted automatically after that.
Create subclass feature for that level (presuming 6th for this example*) and at the bottom of the feature you see a big field called “multiclass description.” Right underneath that you should see:

Is Granted is a checkbox. that SHOULD be checked. “Required Class Level” = 6th* “Prerequisite Class Feature” should be the initial choice that they made. (“3rd-level Feature Name—Option #1-5” presuming the original 5 options.) “Prerequisite Text” should reflect the above.
So this helped a lot in actually getting options to show up, but is there a way to make a feature require more than one other feature as a prerequisite?
So I was thinking of creating a subclass for a bard that would give them access to other ways to use their bardic inspiration. Sort of like the maneuvers for a fighter, but instead of learning more at certain levels, they can pick a number equal to their Charisma modifier. How would I go about doing that? I am still new to this whole process. Lol.

That’s not quite possible, there is no way to program things to grant a number of choices based on an ability modifier.
What about a way to grant multiple choices on one feature at a single level? I want my Warlock to be able to choose two custom features from a list of ten features at 6th level that are sort of like invocations granted by their 6th level feature! They aren't able to choose more of those features at later levels, just two at level 6. As it stands, my warlock subclass can only choose one of these features at level 6. If I'm not being specific enough in my question, please let me know! Thank you!
I believe I've done everything you've mentioned here correctly in my current build, (one option for multiple "subclasses" at 3rd level, then granted options at higher levels based on the original choice) but the granted abilities at higher levels that are given when prerequisite options are chosen aren't displaying in the builder or character sheet. (As in: not displaying at all, not simply there being no text underneath them because I forgot to fill out the "snippet" section) Is there something I'm missing? The abilities are text-only, and don't have associated spells/actions. Could that be why the text for those abilities isn't displaying on the character sheet?
I'm seeing all of the abilities I've made that are "primary" abilities displayed, but nothing from these "options" that are part of those primary abilities.
Did you check the “Has Options” box on the higher level features that have the Granted Options? If so, uncheck it and re-save the whole subclass. Then give the system time to update.
The granted Options won’t display in the builder, but will on the character sheet.
