I need some help from someone who knows how to make Homebrew content on DnD Beyond.
My DM has given my Barbarian a Feat of sorts,
And I am trying to create it in the Home brew section.
But its way to complicated for what I need it to do. Kinda wish it was beginner Friendly and without the need to be a computer expert.
Feat:
Name: Furious Blows
On any successful hit, you may add your Charisma Modifier to the the damage up to a number of times equal to your current level per short/long rest.
So that was it’s basic thing and I created a custom attack in Dnd for that much just in the ‘actions’ tab.
Now it’s gotten more complicated as it has ‘evolved’ so to speak.
It now has 2 additional elements to it:
1- Furious Smash: When Furious Blows is used, the target must make a DC11 Strength Save or be knocked Prone
2- Furious Push: When Furious Blows is used, the target must make a DC11 Strength Save or be pushed back 5ft.
Can anyone help me make this? I am happy to arrange a time to sit down on discord and work through it so I know what I’m doing for when it ‘evolves’ again. As Apparently every 10 uses it evolves.
If any of DnD developers are reading this.. I have some suggestions on a way to maybe make it simple.. like have a "Simple" option and then have the "Advanced Option". Obviously the Advanced option would have more detail and so on. But I dont need that much detail and 50 options per little tab is annoying.
That first part about adding Cha to damage a number of times/LR equal to level:
You will have to make the Reset Type as Short Rest (That seems like a lot to me, make sure your DM didn’t mean Long Rest). Then go back in and edit the Action and you will see that there is now a new section called “limited use.” You will then need to set each level individually, 1 use at 1st level, 2 at 2nd, etc. You will have to set the Activation Type to “special” to indicate that it triggers off of something happening without taking an action or bonus action. As for the actual damage modifier, just set the Ability score to Cha and that should be it. There is no way to actually get it to automatically add that damage, you will have to do that yourself every time you use the feature.
For the other two, you will also have to create actions for those as well, set their activation time to No Action, and make them grant Str Saves. You will need to use the “effects on a save fail” field for these, one with “is pushed 5 feet” and the other with “is mocked prone.” I don’t know how your DM landed on the save DC of 11, so that might be tricky. If it is based on your Cha or another Ability score, then it will be fine because you must list some Ability that the Action itself uses. If it is a set number, there is no way to set that as a fixed number. Feats are not designed to work that way, Magic Items are.
You will also need to fill in the snippets for everything, you can follow the link in my sigline to learn more about those. I hope that was helpful.
you have helped a lot and I will jump on when I wake up and see if I run into any issues.
i played with it before and I think I did most things as you mentioned. Except the uses increasing per level thing.
he did mean short rest, I know it seems like a lot, but I’m not gonna argue, although at a higher level it will be over the top and I’ll speak to him about it then.
im happy to do the math myself, I just want the numbers to match up on the character sheet.
also his save DC is what he came up with, apparently that’s something that could evolve with the ability or something..
i think the main issue I had was when I saved it and loaded it in, I was stuck with a +2 on attack aswell, which I can personally ignore, but if I ever share it amongst the world, it would be confusing. I also then had Strength in for the extra 2 and it put my attack and damage at +4 due to my strength mod.. so I’m getting confused.
it would of been good to know the full extent of the entire ability now so I can put it in the best I can.. but with the ability ‘levelling’ up every 10 uses.. that would be hard to schedule so to speak. But that’s another thing entirely..
I can’t wait to see what he has planned and find a way to tweak it so it isn’t OP in the future and I will probably award it to my Barbarian in my own campaign I DM.
Yeah, depending on where this goes you will most likely be looking at different feats to do everything. One feat can only have so many modifiers and actions before it doe ok now how to handle it anymore. I might personally try to do it as a custom homebrewed version of your subclass instead. Subclass features can do a lot more.

Hokay, so....
