I was using the Homebrew tools to put in the Shifters and their subraces from the first UA article.
I used the Subrace tab that's below Racial traits to put in the subraces, and they show up strangely in the Character Builder. Instead of the inset way that official races work, they're all separate and spread out.
The way I'm naming them in homebrew is 'Shifter (UA)' and I name the subraces with the same '(UA)' ending ex: 'Beasthide (UA)'
In the builder, they show up like sort of like this:
Homebrewed subraces do not nest under homebrewed races the way official ones do. It’s just a thing that happens. The current convention is to name the subraces “[Race], [Subrace]” so they at least group together alphabetically.

Do the names also change positions? The ending was the only part in the Normal Box, and the Name was where 'variant' normally goes?
That I’m not sure on. Try one the way I suggested and see if it looks a way that works for you.
