I want a feat that allows for extra atturnement of a magical item. Less worried at the moment about balance and such. I can create the feat easily enough but it doesn't impact the character sheet at all. There are still only the three slots for it. Any advice on how i can change that so i have a 4th slot?
The feat itself is 1 extra attunement slot at no earlier than 16th level. can take it twice total. And need an unadulterated by item stat of 18.
You won’t be able to make it quite the way you want because the way it is done “sets” the number of Attunement slots, it doesn’t increase them. And if an Artificer takes the feats they can still never get more than 6 Attunement slots because that is the maximum number the system can do.
That modifier will set the max number of Attunement Slots from 3 to 4. To increase it a second time you would need to make a second separate feat that sets the max to 5.
If you’re interested, and have a subscription which allows you to add other people’s published homebrew to your collection, then you can follow the link in my sigline and add a feat I already made if it will suit your purposes.
Spending an action, the character gets an advantage in throwing weapons ( managed by the weapon's weight and the char STR ), so it negates the penalty applied by throwing the weapon 20 ft further from the max throwing distance. If the weapon is thrown further than that distance, then it's applied the normal penalty to the attack Hit dice.

What does that have to do with this? They wanted to know how to make their feat, not ideas for ones.

Feat: "Intuitive Activation" By spending an hour studying a magical item, you learn how to bypass attunement with that item for 24 hours.
Attempting to bypass a second item in this way causes you to forget how to bypass previously studied magical items.
Then you could create a copy of the magic item and exclude the attunement requirement.
It's definitely an abuseable feat that is essentially guarenteed to be taken as many times as possible, but could be limited by tying the rarity of the item to the character's proficiency bonus: 1-2: Common
Honestly, considering how slowly the Artificer gets extra attunement slots, it looks to me that it is worth more than a feat.
I agree. That was why I put the restrictions on the feat that I wrote for it: only once, only a 4th slot, and only after 10th level.
All feats are "only once", unless otherwise stated. Given that, 'only a 4th slot' basically means you are giving the Artificer's ability to everyone else EXCEPT the artificer. After 10th level is something, not sure it is enough.
If I were to make something like this, I would probably put in another restriction of some kind. Maybe, the feat only works on a Common or Uncommon item. That way the 10th level person can not have 4 Very Rare Items.

That’s reasonable. But I figured that kinda thing was more DM specific since some DMs like to make it rain magic items and others are more “frugal” about them. In campaigns I DM, if you can get that many Very Rare items then more power to you. 🤷♂️ Just a matter of taste.
PS- The “only once” part was in comparison to the OP who wanted to make their version a feat that the PC could take twice. And I figured that Artificers can have 4 way sooner and eventually get up to 6, so I thought it was a fair enough point considering that most campaigns don’t make it past 12 level anyway. I figure, what the heck, let ‘em play with their toys.

Why not the Feat : Weapons Throwner.

How about flipping the mechanic?

Could you explain how you made that feat that adds an attunement slot?
EDIT: Nevermind, got it ;)
