"Yeah, " Kaz laughed, "it can be tracked!" He adds with a smirk shaking his head. "Say any of you get sticky fingered. Sheridan has a bead of everything she owns and I mean everything," he says his tone and expression serious now more so than ever before! "You so much as lift a spoon outta that place and bring it back here...you're made," he explains. "The lead box prevents scrying on and detecting the object," he adds curtly. "So, remember when I said don't touch anything else? That's why," he adds. "So, unless you're clever enough to sort out how to hide a thing don't steal from the Virago," he exclaims. "You come back here with stolen goods other than the emerald and I find out about it you'll make an enemy of not only the Virago but me and mine as well," he explains with warning in his tone and expression. "Now does everyone understand this," he asks curiously with a cocked eyebrow bisected by a scar.

For once Tyril had to bite his tongue when introducing himself to the very colorful individual. He looked over himself and his attire and grimaced. He shuffled back and forth and nodded to Vivi, "I am Tyril, pleasure."
He was glad that Kaz had cut in and the younger brother set the leather case on top of the table and showed several items. He felt his hands fidget and tapped his leathers several times in a rhythm familiar before the rush of the chase, his mind drifted from the focus of his insecurities to the task at hand.
"We will get the job done Kaz." Tyril pulled his hood over his head and closed his cloak around him, looking like every other halfling in the city, "Tonight we become Dregs."

Anthix pulled a hybrid of a scarf and hood out, wrapping it wrong his face and pulling the hood up. Leaving most of my torso/stomach exposed. "well then.... Shall we carry on, I'm itching to get out and join the ranks!"
He rubs his hands together a bit of purple sparking between them both, looking to everyone in the group to make sure they are all ready to head out.
“Astrid, truly, you are too kind. We’re different acts, you do yourself like nobody else.” Vivi smiles warmly, reaching out to touch Astrids hand. Her movements and expressions are big and theatrical as she gestures toward Tyril “And you Tyril, Kaz has told me so much about you. I do feel much safer knowing you are with us. Truly good things come in small packages.”
Vivi’s smile drops as she turns her attention to the Yuan-Ti. “What’s the matter snake boy? Jealous much? You know, if you’re actually good at your act, they hand their money right over.” She mimes a hand going into a bag, referencing Anthix’s reputation for pickpocketing at his shows, as she nods at each person in the room with a knowing look.
Cackling at Qendar’s challenge, Vivi snaps back. “You can keep your mastication to yourself if you don’t mind. I guess those books never taught you to have taste.”
“Now, I must admit, I was given a very short notice to come and meet you all. But, one thing you should know about me is I don’t get ready..... I stay ready.” at the click of her fingers, Vivi‘s colourful cloak, with a ruffled shirt front morphs into a plain, dirty black hooded cloak. “Now, how’s it going then? We sneak through the sewers, come up through the house and put this emerald in the lead box. Hopefully without mister kleptomaniac over here getting us all caught. Do we know who might be on watch there? How are we planning to go unseen once we make it inside?”
He smiles at Vivi, though it would be difficult to call it a full face smile.
”If this is a preview of your act, I can see why you need the money from this job. And perhaps if you had deigned to come down and see such rabble as us earlier you would have already heard Kaz and Ms Copperpot tell us about the guards.”
“Do you see a stage here? Do you see wonders and illusions? No, just a woman offering her skills. What were yours again exactly?” Vivi furls her brow, trying to take in this rude individual. “Now, if we all agree that you’re the alpha here, will that soothe your ego enough for us to get on with the job at hand?”
“I would offer my pity to you if it would help,” Quendar says to Vivi. “I was already moving on.But it seems the queen of insults can’t stand not being the subject of adulation by all and needs the last word.”
Quendar opens his arms wide, bows low to Vivi, and then stands back up straight.
”Now let us hear this vaunted wit you have been holding in reserve. I will happily be put in my place and allow you the last word if that will just put an end to this farce.”
"now my dear Vivi what is the fun in receiving what you can just take now and then it's not like I steal everyone's money... Just most of their money" Anthix gives half hearted smile as he watch the two go back and forth.
"may we please just be on our way, I would like to be back as soon as possible for a nice cup of tea with Mr Kaz by the morning" smiles at the soon to hopefully be boss. Anthix carefully taking the pouch of acid off the table and slipping it into a small pouch hidden in a sash tied around his waist.
“I’m not your dancing bear to come out with a quip every time you demand.” Vivi drops her warm Vaneer, an icy cold gaze piercing Quendars eyes.“I never asked for that title, it’s just something they label you with if you dare to stand up for yourself.”
As Anthix’ breaks the twnsion, the warmth returns to Vivi and a soothing chuckle radiates from her. “Well that’s straight up charity really! Leave them enough to get the coachcab home, right?” She puts her hand on the Yuan-ti’s arm as her inviting laugh continues.
"Yes, let's be on our way," Grace Copperpot interjects after a loud sigh from Kaz.
"Yes...please," Kaz says gesturing to Kohuru who parts the curtains. " I'd advise you all to get along or you'll have bigger problems than the labyrinth that awaits you," he says with a smirk.
"Oh, don't forget your gifts," Kotaro calls out gesturing at the table. "Took me a couple of days to make those," he adds trying to wiping soot off his nose only to move it around.
Kotaro then beams at Morgana. "Those will help you see in the dark," the younger man says smiling at her like a ardent puppy as he gestures at a set of googles.
OOC: We'll say Kotaro and Kaz explained the use of all the items but left your interpretation of how to use them up to you. Now if we can move on from the peacocking standoff LOL.... People get your magic items and get on your way!

What do you think? And this lantern could really help Astrid to see. I don’t know who wants that acid, that’s definitely not something I want to carry.”
Tyril smiles conservatively at Vivi and Quendar, "At least tonight won't get very boring..." He held his hands out and took the Goggles of Night and fastened them around his head and pulled them down over his neck. They were a bit large but easy to adjust, Kotaro was quite adept at his work it would appear. Shaking off the jitters, anxiety, and feelings of inferiority he placed his hand on Grace's shoulder tenderly, "Please Ms. Copperpot, I will stay by you side and ensure your safety. So long as you ensure safe passage for us, this night will simply be a a slightly more odorous walk in the park."
"If you lot don't mind, I enjoy safe guarding those who need it." He glanced to his new-found team members and smiled, "I may be young, but I assure you that we will get through this together."

Morgana watched the exchange between the pair of elves with a bemused expression, though the astute (passive insight 13+) would be able to tell there was calculating, almost cold nature behind it. She gives Kaz a nod. "Well, at least those two might keep me busy tonight. Vivi, lets not ruffle any extra feathers. Just think of what the future can hold if this job works out."
Morgana unstraps and places her satchel on the table, opening it up and revealing packs of bandages, salves, medical blades and string, and several small vials filled with a cherry red liquid bound by cloth-wrapped wood. She takes two of the vials of acid, slotting them into her pack next to the other vials, and slides the leather-bound remainder over to Anthix. "Good for a quick burn through a lock, if a set of picks won't do. Or... there are always more... creative uses."
She takes the other set of goggles and tries them on, making a few adjustments before loosening them and securing them to her bandolier. "These will do nicely. Thank you so much for your hard work, Kotaro."She smiles at the familiar man, and looks over at his hands. "Hopefully that burn on your hand has healed up! I'll have more salve in a week if you need it."
Looking at the last item, she notes, "Astrid or Anthix, one of you might want to take the Lantern... that could be useful in finding items hidden by more arcane means. Astrid could probably use the extra light as well. The elves, well, they'll be fine without."
"Thank you Morgana. It is healing just fine," Kotaro replies with a big smile. "Stay safe," he says next looking concerned before Kaz clears his throat.
"Yes, we'll we're all sure to stumble with first impressions but let's not press assumptions and give everyone the benefit of the doubt," Kaz adds easing out of his seat as Kohuru appears at his side.
Kohuru nods at Visage and Morgana. Kotaro just smiles at everyone.

Astrid picks up the lantern from the table as she passes. ”May it be a light to us in dark places, when all other lights go out.”
“Thank you, Kotaro.” She winks at the boy to let him know she is not getting all solemn and profound on him. He knows her from the magic shop, where she works a few days during the week. The way she spoke, she was likely quoting some literary reference, which she was apt to do.
“A shield to keep our fears at bay, and shelter us from doubt.” Vivi continues, smiling at Astrid with approval. “You are well versed in your classics I see.”
Chuckles a bit with Vivi before Anthix takes the the acid and nods his thanks "let's get this party started, I'm just itching to get my hands on that emerald.... Don't think I have ever seen a gem so big in me life"
OOC: The party will enter through the sewers undercover and it opens up at the street lower entrance into the Virago's mansion.
The night has already turned inky black with only the street lamps along the canal to guide you. Getting into a canal boat with two poleman whom work secretly for the Dregs the party leaves the Old City for the New. They ride along the Grand Canal through to the Century market that straddles the borders of the Old and New City. There they are briefly paused by early evening traffic before moving along the Grand Canal north from the harbor. It takes about an hour but they reach the outskirts of the walled Merchant's Ward soon enough. Getting out of the canal boat and onto the street the party needs to avoid detection by the city watch. They can see these heavily armed and armored guards checking papers to enter the walled Merchant's Ward by canal as well as a check point along the footpath.
"Come the sewer is just this way. About another half mile on foot," Grace points to a shadowy alley ahead of the party parallel to the wall but away from the city watch post at the southwestern entrance gate to the Merchant's Ward. "We can get inside the Merchant's Ward and nearer the house down there," she explains ushering the party forward towards an alley that skirts the Merchant's Ward outer wall.
OOC: A city map TBA. Still working on it. Had a site building it but it's down at the moment. You will be entering the sewers from a point ahead in the map above.

Quendar looks at Visage with no emotion on his face, looking her up and down.
"Are you of the impression that we are all fans of yours?," Quendar asks. "Salivating at the thought of being insulted by you?"
He shakes his head as he turns to the table. He picks up the lead lined box, and turns it over in his hands.
"Lead?" he asks Kaz. "That is unusual. Is there something more about the emerald we should know about?"

After the rest of the crew has picked over the specialized gear laid out on the table, Astrid grabs anything that is left, and tucks it away.
