"The barbarian is about 100ft away from the orcs. I'm curious about what the elf will do. I remember he didn't have a longbow" Lucy stops talking and casts Mage Armor on herself. "We are about 100 …wait a second! The passway is crooked. We are 300ft away from him…It's a little too far away to join the fight if Laerthalas ambushes those beasts"
In the woods, the owl picks up a stick and tries to draw a simple battle map on the ground.
(OCC: DM please tell me, what ability check needed for map drawing)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
@Laerthelas:
The orcs hear your rushing footsteps as you get within 50ft, and turn to see what is making the noise. Seeing that they only have one opponent to handle between the two of them, they share a glance and draw their weapons, deciding that they can handle this themselves. Roll for initiative.
Orc initiative: 4
Map (team mates are 100ft vertically away, with 300ft of path to travel if they have no other way to get to you):
@Lucy:
Artemis reports that Laerthelas has decided to rush the orcs. They have stood their ground to face him without reinforcements.
@Ingrida, Garavant and Bree:
Lucy's owl is flying overhead on recon and seems agitated. Something is going on.
"The barbarian charges! And the orcs…they don't raise a signal to the camp! Brainless fools, don't understand what lookout means! Let's go! We can still have some fun if we can catch up the fight" Lusy calls to Ingrida. The elf wizard is looking for a shortcut as she runs up the passway.
There appear to be no shortcuts up the path, although a flying creature can reach the top level by travelling in a straight line (100ft).
(Laerthelas ties the orcs for initiative but has higher DEX so goes first; they are 50ft away. Everyone else can post actions and I will determine when they are in a position to require an initiative roll)
"I think something is happening Garavant. Maybe we should join the rest" and she starts making her way up the mountain (as fast as possible with her short legs)
Laerthalas moves closer to the orcs and calls upon the magical rage that infuses him. "Come, filth. And die!"
Wild Surge Rage: 2 You teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. Until your rage ends, you can use this effect again on each of your turns as a bonus action.
((Excellent. I will teleport to the square adjacent to the two orcs, and attack the one by the fire, using Reckless Attack.))
Breesets off up the mountain path as fast as she can, travelling 50ft (about two-thirds of the way to the first switchback).
The two orcsare weighing up their approach and attack, confident of their numerical advantage, when Laerthelas enters his rage. The sudden flash of wild magic catches them by surprise, and their shock is compounded by the barbarian’s sudden appearance right in front of them.
The greatsword comes crashing down on orc 2, wounding him badly through the shoulder (9pts of damage, the app didn’t add your +2 for Rage).
Recovering from the shock of what they have just witnessed, both orcsstrike back with their javelins (with advantage due to the reckless nature of Laerthelas’s attack):
Orc 1 Attack: 20 Damage: 4 piercing
Orc 2 Attack: 14 Damage: 4 piercing
(Half all damage taken due to rage)
(Announce next actions please; non-combatants are welcome to announce activity at any point, I shall assume that Bree is moving and dashing each round until I am notified otherwise)
Bree will indeed continue to run up looking for shortcuts, unless anything changes significantly, please let me know when I see the orcs (and what the distance to them is then).
Perception for searching shortcuts (if possible): 20
"Darn it! Why life never gives me a shortcut when I need one!" Couldn't find the other way, Lucy has no choice but keeps running up the winding passway.
(OOC: Lucy climbs up the hill until she gets orcs in her rang(60ft))
The orc tries to use his Strength to avoid being pushed to a splatty end (good luck orcy): 17
And fails! Eyes widening as he realises what is happening, he only manages to let out a brief scream before crashing to the ground (not even going to roll; he dead)
The remaining, injured, orc tries to skewer Laerthelas with his javelin: Attack: 23 Damage: 8 piercing
As soon as Bree took off up the hill Ingrida followed in suit, her armor clanging, heavy, though she was used to running in armor and seemed fine to do so even while maintaining a high rate of travel, she hoped she didn't miss all the action!
OOC: Ingrida will dash each turn until she reaches the fight, if there's any left to be had, go Laerthelas!
The four adventurers dashing up the mountain path hear a short scream above them and look up just in time to see the orc plummeting towards them. He impacts just behind Lucy and Garavant, barely missing Ingrida and smearing across the path.
Breeis 150ft away (on the joint of levels 2&3)
Lucy and Garavantare 180ft away (½ way up level 2)
Ingridais just behind Garavant and Lucy, making good time considering her stature and heavy armour
The remaining orc snarls at the raging barbarian, determined to put him down...
(Laerthelasto go, then the orc if he survives the incoming attack)

(OOC: I'm happy that no check is needed for the 'quality' of map below. I think it's pretty nifty for an owl, very basic for a grown human...)
Artemis scratches the following map in the dirt, replicating for both sub-groups if needed:
Laerthalas decides to try to take out the two orcs, so that the others may approach. Drawing his sword, he rushes forward.
Dash 70 feet toward the orcs.

"Aye, let's move!" Garavant says to Bree, rushing up the hill as fast he can toward the action at top speed.
Initiative 24
Laerthalas will lash out at the orc he hasn't already attacked, attempting to shove it off the ledge.
