Ayen remembers something about the name. Askfott... he had heard it before. He has lived a long life though, who knows at what stage it was he heard it. For some reason, it reminds him of Bolt as she were a few mornings ago.
He's also curious why neckties would be a threat to the Duke. Perhaps he's in the bolo tie business, sees it as a threat. No reason for armed men to be so self-serious. He grunts, laughing to himself.
"Thank you for the warning." Storm says with a nod. He lets the knights continue past, waiting until they are further along before waving his crew back on the road. "Anyone know what he was talking about there?" He asks the more historical-minded of the crew.

Bolt history 6
Bolt has never heard of any of the names of people or villages - or previous quarrels.
But when Rusty spits out the word GIANTS, her hand instinctively grabs the hilt of her greataxe so hard, that her knuckles turn almost white and some lightning starts crackling around her nostrils.
"Let's get there and help these people." Her voice sounds hoarse.
Patter suggests they indeed get moving to find out what their mission is. And quickly. He consults the map to see if there is a faster way off the road to get there.
"Giants huh?" Storm says, eyes on the plume of dust the knights are kicking up ahead of them now. "And we are heading in that direction... Wonder if it has something to do with our current mission." He sighs and nods to the road. "Let's get moving, daylight is wasting."
"Well, at least giants should have a hard time noticing me from up there; hahaha" grandpa starts joking.

You recall the clan mentioned, recognizing them as hill giants, which are a particularly unpleasant form of giant that is as stupid as they are strong. You know that their primary drive is to eat, and one way or the other, their motivation for leaving the hills is likely due to food. Which they view anything edible as food, and have an impressive digestive system to where almost everything is edible. They group together to defend against things bigger than them, but view anything smaller as food. You're uncertain whether they would consider a warforged to be edible, but they are probably dumb enough to try.
They are scavengers, not craftsfolk, arming and adoring themselves with crude garments and weapons, such as knotted hides and uprooted trees stripped of their branches. A giant tribe unchecked would eat their way through the countryside, only departing when the got bored, of better foraging seems likely elsewhere. From talking to some old-timers, fighting hill giants is a tough venture, they have thick skin and are hardy. Going toe to toe in a knock down would lead to high casualties, keeping them guessing, confusing them and being hard to hit seem to be better options, though distance alone isn't a solution, as they are quite good aim with thrown rocks, that being their primary way of ambushing wild game. They aren't good at sneaking up on deer and the like, their stench will give them away if their footsteps don't, but a rock from a few hundred feet away can turn that same deer into a delicious pulp to slurp up.

At the mere thought of giants, Verne's attention is drawn from the horses. "We're off to kill giants? Have they done something wrong?" His naivety about the history of these beasts evident. He looks to Grandpa. "You and me both!" He laughs along with his joke. At Storm's order he snaps back to reality. He falls back in next to the nearest horse. He begins to neigh and snort, undoubtedly telling the animal of their new mission.

Bolt is very keen to fight giants - to the point where she is ready to abandon their current mission.
