The kobolds look towards Evendur, startled that a human would know their language. They turn away from the woman and her family, focusing their attention instead on this new arrival and any allies he might have.
If you are participating in the fight, roll initiative.
Kobolds' Initiative: 19
Edit: That is actually 21. The modifier disappeared for some reason.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kosef's initiative: 11
Kosef plants his feet, and lifts his sword from his shoulder, ready to attack on his turn.
(OOC: Not sure why it's giving me the manipulated dice rolls warning. I deleted an earlier attack and damage roll because we hadn't rolled initiative.)

Kipio follows quickly behind the horse carrying Evendur towards the town, glad to know that he seems confident in his abilities to stop the attacking dragon. Upon seeing the fleeing humans, he stops looking around for the cause. He is unsurprised by the kobolds in pursuit, he always knew that his distant brethren served chromatic dragons, but seeing them here beneath the shadow of the dragon over head made him irrationally angry. Just as he was about to step forward to confront them Evendur spoke in his native tongue, greatly surprising and then irritating him with the term "foul creature". Kipio trots to his side and looks up staring at him and angrily saying in Draconic, "The name is Kipio Yellow-Foot, make sure if you get confused to ask for a name lest you confuse me for another foul creature. Or at least make sure they don't have yellow feet before you skewer them". Kipio rolls up his right sleeve revealing a small red lizard like arm with a spiral pattern of roots growing from wrist to shoulder, he opens up his palm conjuring a small yellow flame readying it for use. "Careful not to get surrounded by my brethren, it's easy to slip a dagger between armor of someone distracted"
OOC: Sadly, I will say no surprise. Initiative role would be good. You can save the attack and damage rolls for your turn though. We can treat it like your post happened on your turn in combat if you want.
Kendes Initiative: 19(rolled in the game log dice roller)
Kendes is about to respond, when the kobold points the party to look towards Greenest. Kendel stares for a moment, overwhelmed by the sight of an actual dragon - the first he's ever seen. "Is this why father made me--" he mutters under his breath, eyes wide as he watches the figure soaring through the air. After a few moments, the shock manages to wear off long enough for him to see the others charging into the village.
"This is foolishness!"he mutters under his breath as he chases after them. Still, when he sees the family struggling to escape the kobold attack, it sends a lance of pain through his chest. Charging in after the others, he yells in draconic, "Your fight isn't with them!"
Kipio looks up and Evendur with a toothy grin and nod of acknowledgment. He unstraps the small buckler on his back and readies it. He looks from shield to shield comparing the disparity in sizes. With a chuckle, "Mine should be able to at least cover your ankles."
Evendur smiles back at Kipio "I hope you won´t be uneased by fighting your brethren Kipio, but I guess it wouldn´t be different than for me to fight an evil knight." "And I appreciate your concern over my ankles"
When Evendur declares that the group is there to slay the kobold's master, Valas waits for the initial moment of attempted intimidation to pass before calmly remarking, "remember, we are here to bring people such as these to safety." "I have no intention of fighting a dragon today!" With that he draws his shining, silvery elven sword.

Initiative Order
21-Kobolds
19-Kendes
19-Evendur
16-Kipio
11-Kosef
10-Valas
Six of the kobolds charge at the adventurers with their daggers drawn and two retreat to use their slings.
A pair of kobolds descend on Evendur. They slash at him with their daggers, spewing vile insults in draconic. A third kobold near them slashes at Kipio. "What kind of vile kobold fights with humans?" it hisses.
A fourth kobold jabs at Kendes. "Foolish creature! Our fight is with anyone who stands between our treasure!"
A fifth kobold slices at Kosef. It matches Kosef's silence with its own lack of words, instead scrunching up its snout in concentration.
A sixth kobold lunges at Valas, its eyes slightly drawn by his shiny blade.
In the back, the seventh and eighth kobolds use their slings, targeting Kosef and Kendes.
Kosef manages to sidestep the blade of the kobold that stabs at him, but doing so, he steps right into a sling stone. It hits hard in the center of his chest, but there is another kobold within the length of his great sword.
"Forgive me," he says, "for the violence I intend," and attempts to behead the kobold that struck at him: 15 to hit and 12 damage.
(OOC: Thank you, Loosestrife, for being willing to let me use those earlier rolls, but I lost them when I hit delete :( I haven't used the Great Weapon Fighting feat before, but "On your turn, when you score a critical hit with a melee weapon or reduce a creature to 0 HP with one, you can make one melee weapon attack as a bonus action." If that damage reduces the kobold to 0, here is my bonus action: 8 to hit for 13 damage.)
Kipio feels the dagger blow glance off his buckler, looking with pity at the kobold who attacked him. He dismisses the flame from his hand instead pulling free his scimitar. "Tainted by a chromatic master", he says quietly returning the attack.
OOC: Not sure if any of the party are close to Kobold3 but I will roll twice once for pack tactics and one without
Kendes manages to skip back, arms wide, yelling „Whoa!“ as one of the kobolds slashes at him, missing. He stumbles another step back, wincing as a stone pelts him in the shoulder. The pain is sharp and burning, and he grips his spear tightly and tries to focus on the immediate threat in front of him.
Attack: 11 Damage: 5 piercing
He follows it with a wild punch, panic fueling his move, never having fought for his life against other humanoids before. „Get away from me!“
Attack: 12 Damage: 8 blunt
(OOC: if k4 dies from the first attack, he will move to where two or more kobolds have bunched against a party member and attack the most injured kobold. if dice roller refuses to parse, just edit your post with any word at the bottom of your post, it usually corrects itself then)
Kendes skewers a kobold before going to lend Evendur a hand with the other kobold, who crumples from the blow.
Evendur knocks a kobold down before slaying it with a swing of his sword.
Kipio slashes with his scimitar, leaving a deep wound in his opponent.
Kosef decapitates a kobold, then proceeds to attack another kobold. There are several options here for your bonus action. You could attack Kipio's wounded opponent or could attack the one 30ft away using a sling against you. No matter which kobold you choose, it will die.
Valas kills his kobold with a slash of his blade.
Only two kobolds remain. One of them recoils another 30 ft and launches another stone at Kendes. Attack: 10 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
If Kipio's opponent lives it takes another swing at the kobold: Attack: 16 Damage: 6
If Kipio's opponent was slain and one of the sling-using kobolds is still alive, that kobold launches another stone at Kosef, also recoiling another 30ft. Attack: Attack: 19 Damage: 6
Surprised and a little taken aback by the fallen kobold, Kendes looks up just in time to duck under the stone that whistles by his head. He runs after the last kobold, trying to stop it from escaping. He and his father, Valgas, had worked quite frequently with kobolds before while plying their trade; Kendes knew full well that kobolds ran in vicious and clever packs, and he wasn't willing to bet that this bunch had been the only ones in town. Not when there was a dragon overhead, at least... that sight would likely embolden most kobolds. Almost desperately, he stabs at the sling-wielding kobold.
(Kendes will attack any kobold he can reach with his spear, which I'm assuming is one with a sling. Again, just keep moving and transfer the BA attack to an injured kobold in reach, if the first one is lethal...)
Attack: 9 Damage: 10piercing
Unarmed Strike: 26 Crit Damage: 9

Evendur turns slightly to the kobold by his side, not losing his attention to the coming fight.
"Apologies Kipio Yellow-Foot, I´m deeply sorry if I offended you, I was focusing on distracting the kobolds attacking the villagers and misspoke"
"And thanks for your advice, stick close to me, my shield is broad" still in draconic

Edit: Figured out what is happening with the rolls.
Also, to be extra clear, K7 attacks Kosef, K8 attacks Kendes.

Hmmm not sure why damage isn't rolling correctly, going to do a simple roll for dmg - 4
Evendur is hit by a Kobold dagger in the ankle, gritting his teeth, returning the favor with a bash of his shield.
Shield bash to shove prone: 6
Then a downward swing with his gleaming blade.
Attack against prone kobold: 13 If not prone use first roll which in this case gives the same result.
