"Your performance bores me. No wonder you had to exchange lute for sword and take up patrolling."
"I am waiting, as a courtesy. One service to another. But I will not wait for long."
Vidame Olivie places her free paw on her hip, in what looks to be a gesture of impatience. Sirithal, at least, knows her paw now rests quite close to a concealed stiletto.
Hurdrak stared at Olivie, he contemplated his situation, no their situation. While they could likely hold their own in a fight, Dixie was in a bad position and Olivie would flee with a fabricated story. At this time too much was stacked against them.
"Release Dixie and we will leave," he said. He rest his hand comfortably on the hilt of his sword.
Another failed attempt at persuasion against the iron will of the Vidame. Indeed, the elite lady has the brain of a lizard, voice of a siren to enchant the buckos of the Mouse Guard patrol, enough to lead them astray! Not to forget the unquenchable hunger for overpowering the opponent. The lady wants to win and Dixie will make sure that she does win.
"Whatever you offered them in exchange for my release, they are apt to refuse it, you can see it by yourself"- she murmurs under her breath, impressed with the brave gesture of the spider comrade. "They're stubborn and will fight until the release of their comrade. Let me face the aftermath of my wrongdoing by myself, keep them away from it."
Dixie feels suddenly compelled to flee, run like a rabbit, as fast and as far as her legs will carry her. Away from Vidame Olivie. "Halt!! In the name of His Eminence!" She hears the cries as she takes off, but the words carry none of the conviction that was in the order to flee.
Hurdrak also feels the strong urge to flee, and nearly does so, but with his power of mind he is just able to shake it.
"Stop them!!"The Goldcloaks immediately draw steel and advance. Except for one, who collapses in a heap.
"Loose!!" The crossbowmice take aim at Dixie and fire! But Olivie had spoken true, and both weapons are jammed.
(PCs have Initiative to move or make a ranged action, prior to combat; roll Initiative for combat, should you stand your ground. Dixie is pounding paws toward the patrol, and shows no intentions of stopping).
Hurdrak forces out the the voice ringing in his head and locks his eyes upon Olivie as the camotion starts. He mouths some words which the others near him can't hear but come as whispers from various directions around Olivie. What she hears is, "You've made enemies, watch yourself, Watch Yourself, watch yourself." The phrase watch yourself being said with multiple inflections over and over eventually getting softer and disappearing. He then turns and retreats with the others.
Ooc: that was a use of silent image, which when read looks way more versatile than I had initially thought.
Dixie is snapped out of the effect of the enchantment when she has found herself in the middle of a skirmish, frozen in place as a response to confusion. As an immediate response, she lowers her body and springs sideways in a very low angle to the ground to Dodge the incoming attacks. "Someone hand me a weapon! Anything!"- she shouts as she twists herself into a roll, finally taking cover behind a queue of wooden boxes.
Following others' lead of nonlethal force, Mistral will conjure forth vines from the frozen ground to entangle (STR DC 13) the townsguard soldiers and slow their pursuit (difficult terrain), before taking wing in the direction of the gate as directed by Blackbur.
Snapping out of it, Dixie regains control of her senses, and her legs. Reaching for her weapon out of habit, The rabid rabbit ranger is surprised to find her hook has been discreetly returned to her, most likely by Olivie herself! Her would-be foes, however, are caught-up wading through the tangles and briars summoned forth by Mistral. If she truly wants to put up a fight, she will need to wade into the tangles herself.
As Hurdrak flees toward the gate with the rest of the patrol, he hears Olivie's reply, a whispered message brushing gently against his sensitive sensory hairs: "I always do. Watch yourself. You will need all your eyes."
Whispers will follow along, bringing up the rear but looking back over his shoulder to see how closely the gold cloaks are to them. As he runs along at the rear of the party, the monk wonders what game Olivie is playing. The mouse is worried that she is setting the party up for some other trap, or maybe even using them to discredit the entire Mouse Guard.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
With a quick visit to the barracks, Dixie will try to pick up some of her gears and weapons. The near future will be more difficult to her than she had expected since she's a fugitive rabbit, not a lone ranger. She tries to move behind covers, with quick strides advancing towards the rest of the patrol.
Olivie's elite Goldcloaks disentangle themselves from the winged druid's conjuration, and give chase. The patrol makes it into the Mouse Guard compound, whereupon the Vidame's guards pause.
With a few arcane words and gestures, Olivie freezes the two greyfur sentries in place, and strides into the courtyard. Her guards now follow, including the one she had to kick awake.
They do not pursue the fleeing patrol deeper into the compound, but rather the Vidame calls out the captain.
"Captain Trevel!! You are harbouring fugitives from justice! Tenderpaw Dixie Fierypaws, charged with duelling and attempted murder. Also fleeing lawful detention. Tenderclaw Hurdrak...."
At this point, just as the captain makes it to the courtyard, Dixie is seen quietly exiting the barracks.
"I trust these accusations no more than I trust you, Vidame Olivie. Ranger Fierypaws, what say you? How do you answer to these charges? Are they true?"
"I doubt you'll get witnesses for Hurdrak's trial that don't vouch for him. He did save the lives of two Mouse Guards, including my own."
I have a weird sense of humor.
I also make maps.(That's a link)

"It's a defense, not poetry. You shouldn't expect song in a trial."

‘She has a knife...’ whispers Sirithal to Blackbur... ‘I’d guess poisoned.’

"But my sweet, you will face the aftermath. But not today. This day, you run."
It is a whisper into her long ear, but the sense of urgency is evident. Whatever Olivie's motives, she truly does not want them in custody.
"I tire of this. Do not attempt to Flee!"
But the commanding emphasis on the final word runs contrary to its context, for Dixie and Hurdrak, at least. (Wisdom saves from you both, please).

Seeing the Madame casting her spell, Sirithal immediately releases the Sleep spell he had prepared to cast....
Centred on Madame, it affects 24hp worth of creatures within 20ft, in ascending hp order, no ST...

“Fly, you fools!” Blackbur tries to snap the irregulars out of their hostilities while bringing up the rear. “To the gate!”
Paladin - warforged - orange
Sirithal runs after Blackbur, his steaming robes billowing after him. 'Those town guards are tougher than they look...' he complains as he runs...
