There is indeed, a small tuft of fur, caught up in the webbed corridor. Not from a mouse, but from a larger cousin to the North, more closely related to a rabbit! Almost at the same time, though farther back, Dixie's wrinkling nose finally places the scent: Pika! But why would it be so far down from the mountains?
Continuing deeper into the webs, the creature's scent grows stronger. It yet lives, but its fear is palpable.
Hurdrak takes the time to go fetch his blade. As safe as he felt with his companions, having the familiar sword in his hand gave him more confidence. With that done he rejoined the exploration party and to the search.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Dixie won't take another risk, what happens if these mouslings wander away from the adventuring party looking for more trouble? Making sure that they are safely under the care of Heidi, the rabbit ranger pulls out the frequently used Crowbar. She follows the trail left behind by Blackbur and Hurdrak, taking abrupt halt near the constriction. Lifting the bar upwards, then aiming it for the ice covering of the narrow space she starts to dig into the wall, breaking the pin drop silence."Let's make it wider for our new adventurer".
Dixie chisels away at the ceiling, where ice has formed through a weakness in the rock. Applying all her might, the prybar penetrates the ice to the rock underneath, dislodging a large flake with exposed jagged quartzite crystals. The rabbit makes it through to join the rest of the patrol, but the way back is blocked to her, for now. Forward, into the webs, is the only way.
Mistral can sense the corridor opening up ahead, with dozens of spiderling-sized objects lying in wait. On the floor, and on the ceiling. The pika must be in an acoustical shadow, if it is indeed in the lair, for the bat cannot locate it, as yet.
Mistral will retreat a little and inform the others of his findings. "They've prepared a veritable mouse trap", he whispers. "We need a way to get the upper paw."
"What kind of trap? I'm not concerned about the webbing since the matriarch has been eliminated, none of these spiderlings can restrain us with it", speaks Dixie with a tone of assurance. She moves closer to the darkest part of the lair, then attempts to find something that's bigger than the little beast, thus casting a bigger shadow.
The sticky webbing still presents the potential for danger to the patrol, save Hurdrak, who is able to negotiate it with ease. Upon entering the lair proper, there are vast curtains of webbing, strung ceiling to floor, as.well as thick drifts of it to navigate. The spiderlings near the entrance withdraw, giving the patrol space to enter. A bit further into the room, the ceiling opens up to several mouse heights. A dozen spiderlings await there, resuming their chittering and tapping as they do so.
(All but Hurdrak need to make either an Athletics or Acrobatics check, to either tear through or avoid the webs)
Dixie's acute hearing is able to pick up the muffled cries of the pika, and she is able to discern its relative position in the room, near the back, several feet away through the maze of webbing.
Sirithal holds out a hand and, spitting out words of power, sets a beam of cold, blue-white light playing over the webs near him, freezing them solid. This done, he sweeps his staff through the thin, now brittle strands, scattering them.
He’s casting Ray of Frost onto the nearby strands to render them brittle and frozen...
Seeing the bat's wings get caught up somewhat in the webbing, the spiderlings nearest are quick to close upon him.
(Six spiderlings are closing on Mistral, who is effectively restrained until he passes an Athletics check, or is assisted with a successful check. Anyone who has entered the lair, but not made an Athletics or Acrobatics check, please do so. These initial checks are prior to aggressive action, and the patrol may take initiative in combat).
Dixie has been sitting near the constriction after passing through it, her chest slowly moving upwards and downwards with rapid exhalation and inhalation of breath. Her crowbar rests on her right shoulder blade, bare hand tightly holding the grip. She swings the gear like a sword to pierce through the sticky webbing of the lair, sometimes using her bare hands to rip off the thread and moving closer to the place where Mistral hangs from the webbing.
With Dixie's help, Mistral frees himself just as the spiderlings are closing with them. Several hesitate a moment, as their prey is no longer restrained in the webs, but several others leap at them! (Mistral and Dixie have initiative to attack the six spiderlings first).
Blackbur is on a mission! Slashing through the webbing, he makes his way toward the captive. When he arrives, it is easy to understand why the pika has been quiet. Not only is it entirely wrapped in webbing, but there is a spiderling hugging its face like a muzzle, with a half dozen more about its encased body. As the mouse draws closer, several of the spiderlings crouch down, ready to pounce... (Blackbur also has initiative to act before the spiderlings).

Hurdrak finds his sword with little trouble, near the dead spider. He is surprised to also find a dagger lodged in the spider's abdomen.
Once Dixie and Hurdrak have rejoined the patrol, Mistral will continue scouting (perception 10).

“The torches and some quick action to save their captive.” Blackbur waves his sword around threateningly.
