“The hope we found was super deep though…. We should find another way down if we can.”
OOC: Can we not use our existing magic and items to go down the deep hole? Z and Ignis both have Winged Boots, giving them flying speed for 4h. Z can cast fly on 2 targets which lasts for 10 mins. So we could get 4 of the 5 PCs to fly. Assuming we can rig up some rope/net or even just hold onto the last party member by hand, I would have thought that this would get us to the bottom? The constraints would be the Fly spell, but 30ft * 6 rounds * 10 minutes =1800ft. That's over 1/2 kilometre or 1/3 of a mile. And we can send Irraxan down first to check the depth to be on the safe side.
[Yes, there are other ways of getting down - like feather fall - but I am thinking that the way down has to be reversible so we can escape later]
(I know we have really short rests, but it’s still good to plan on being able to escape if a flier falls, or we have to run quickly after having expended spell slots. I’d just like to look for another way if we can.)
OOC: I must have missed something…Is there some reason we are wanting to go down the hole? I thought the three locations marked on the map with concentrations of Purplewraiths were not necessarily down in the hole…

Zenodor: "Very well. It seems we may not need to concern ourselves with the pit. Shall we make out way to the first Purplewrath nest?
I will instruct Irraxan to inform the colonists about the other nests so that the soldiers may attempt to deal with the other two.
We should ask them to be careful, as we do not want them to suffer losses. If they struggle we may need to turn to the other two nests afterwards to help them."
Irraxan flies a little faster than you all travel through the island forest, but he can reach them no quicker than 3 and half days (remember it took you 4 days to get here from the colonists).
You can always get him back 'instantly.'

Still curious about the reason for the bonfire, Randall decides to let it go as he does not know their language well enough to ask the question himself.
”Yes, let’s go to the nearest Purplewraith location,” he agrees, preparing to take his leave of these kind people.

The natives wish you well as you depart for the first Purplewrath nest and offer you extra food and drink for the road. They appear very grateful you have taken it upon yourselves to do something about the threat to their village.
The first nest is about a day's travel into the forest and back toward the colonists. It is not a direct route and covers ground you have not travelled yet.
How are you planning on approaching the nest when you get near?

Randall will do some Survival checks to look for hazards as they approach, as well as stay on the lookout for any aign of the plants themselves. He offers to cast Bless on any party members who would like it, as it helps both with hitting the foe and resisting any special attacks.

Not much of interest happens on the way to the nest.
As you get near the first signs that are a dead give away that you are near the nest is a faint smell that you remember was present at your only other encounter with them. They were living flowers or awakened plants or something after all.
If there is any preparation anyone would like to do now is the time. Just ahead through the foliage you can detect movement.
