Invisible Ipkiss moves to keep pace with the yeti. 40ft flying movement, plus 40ft flying dash action ((total 80ft)).
At the same time, he reduces altitude a little, so he ends up just 20ft above the yeti’s head now. ((Flying down at a slight angle might leave him trailing behind the yeti ever so slightly too (depending again on how we treat diagonals on the grid). )).
He’ll hold there, just maintaining his invisibility for now, and keeping quiet.
Maudath feels the roaring breath of the yeti on his face, and smiles, then he roars back into the face of the yeti.
His great sword slashes out in a sweeping arc, letting the momentum of his body carry him forward, rolling around the yeti and using that momentum to swing the sword hard against the yeti again.
(Excelent Crit!!!)
The yeti howls in pain as your sword sinks deep into its flesh, steam rising from the hot blood as it puts down its side. Your second strike starts to go wide, you narrow your vision and calling on all your practice and training you bring it back into line and the strike hits true.
Ipkiss does his best to keep up but will trail the Yeti by a bit ( 40ft behind the yeti vertical movement is the same as horizontal)
((OOC: ah okay. In that case, can Ipkiss just stay at the same height (40ft above the yeti’s head) and fly in a straight line to stay directly above it and keep up with it. 40ft fly + 40ft dash. Thanks))

Ryhunis sees the yeti's pain and sees the yeti facing Maudath she runs 10 ft in front of her(to the north) then 10 ft to the left and another 10 ft north Gaining speed for her strike Action: attack: 17 damage: 7
she purposely aimed for it's legs to see if she could throw the beast out of balance ((Not sure if this is gonna work so I might as well try, what's the worst it can happen besides Mau getting attacked again? :D )) "Not yet, not worth it yet to do it"
You run up, skirting around to the side opposite of Maudath, and unleash a hefty punch hitting the creature in the side of one knee causing it to buckle and almost drop before it recovers its balance.
Professor your turn
Init order. Iris, Eve, Yeti, Maudath, Ipkiss, Ryhunis, Professor
You run forward to a better vantage point and aim your lightning cannon and FOOOOOOOOM!! Lightning crackles and bursts forth striking the yeti causing it to yell in pain as its limbs lockup momentarily.
The yeti is bleeding and smoking as it sees its tasty meal becoming less appetizing by the second.
Iris skitters back a few steps if she's able to do so and still keep the yeti within her range, then claws her hand in a familiar motion. The sound of low, ominous bells momentarily fills the air, though to the furred creature, they're earsplitting.
Action: Toll the dead DC 13 wisdom save or take 8 necrotic damage
Movement: Back as far as I can while keeping the yeti within 60 ft of me
If the yeti still stands...
Seeing that her spell was ineffective and her friends are still in danger, Iris clasps her silver amulet in her hands, closes her eyes, and calls on something deeper than she ever has before. Suddenly, a glowing scythe appears in front of the yeti, pale blue and incorporeal, floating in the space between Maudath and Ryhunis. It arcs towards the creature's throat...
Though the bell rings loudly to those near the yeti it seems its thick fur muffles the sound of it leaving it unaffected, however as it seems momentarily perplexed by the appearance of the spectral scythe and releases a blood curling howl that turns to gurgles midway thru as the scythe slices down across its throat splashing both Maudath and Ryhunis in yeti blood, The creature grasps at its bleeding throat, its fur turning deep crimson.
Eve steps over, right into the Professors line of sight, and fire off a blast of purple force energy, striking the yeti in the shoulder and spinning it around. It falls to one knee and is struggling to stand back up.
I just wanted to get clarity on how you want to treat diagonal movement on a grid.
Are you using the ‘variant rule: playing on a grid’ from page 192 of the PHB, where 5ft of movement will get you to any adjacent square (even diagonals)?
Or are you using the ‘optional rule: diagonals’ from page 252 in the Dungeon Master’s Guide where the first diagonal move costs 5ft, the next 10ft, and the next 5ft again, then 10ft, and so on (5ft, 10ft, 5ft, 10ft, etc)?
Or some other method?
Any of those would be fine. But I think we just needed clarity on that, as Jade asked (a few posts above) and it also came up again when Ipkiss was attempting to fly down at a slight angle.
For the time being, I think Jade and myself have both entirely avoided moving diagonally at all because it’s unclear how you prefer to treat it. If you could let us know that would be cool.

Maudath grimaces briefly at the attacks from the yeti, but instinct kicks in and as the claw marks strike his flesh, he tenses his hard goliath skin, inhales deeply and roars at the yeti, feeling some of the blow just ebb away.
Reaction: Stone's Endurance - 10 HP regained. Goliath Resistance to Cold kicking in on the cold damage as well.
As the yeti finishes its attack, Maudath wheels his sword around in another great arc.
The strike is true and final as the yeti falls to the ground not moving. A slight steam rises from the blood pouring out of it for an instance before the cold claims the last of its body heat.
Eventually Ipkiss catches up with the yeti that bashed him. He flutters down, onto its lifeless form, kicking it and pulling its fur and hurling insults at it!…

The yeti is hurt badly and is unsure of what to do.
(1-2 attacks Ryhunis, 3-4 attacks Maudath, 5-6 will try to flee)
1
In its pain and confusion it lashes out at Maudath with both its claws
Claw attack 1: Attack: 9 Damage: 9 slashing damage and 5 cold damage.
Claw attack 2: Attack: 21 Damage: 5 slashing damage and 1 cold damage.
Maudath how do you respond?
Maudath grimaces briefly at the attacks from the yeti, but instinct kicks in and as the claw marks strike his flesh, he tenses his hard goliath skin, inhales deeply and roars at the yeti, feeling some of the blow just ebb away.
