Once all members of the Scarlet Dawn are up on deck, Flame Wyre addresses you all, "The ship is damaged, many of our supplies have been destroyed, all we need you to do is make sure the derelict is clear and we'll pull the Flaming Sail up to it." You all note that many of the flaming fist is on deck now as well. They've taken posts at various areas of the deck and are wearily watching the water.
"Being stationary after a storm is not safe," she says. "There's creatures of the deep that take advantage of ships that have taken damage during a storm. They follow it and prey on those that survive. Be careful." She gestures and the crew drops two rowboats into the water.
“I’ll get into the first boat. That way in case anything comes from the front I can defend us from it. Plus I’ll need to be close to the boat to tell if it’s actually haunted or not.”
Zamar motions to Lera and Singe. "With that reasoning, we should get into the aft boat and let him lead us. Polly, do you need help getting Mr. Drippy down the ladder? Let me go first so I can help." So saying, Zamar climbs down into the other boat.
Woe climbs into the first boat with Perrin. She is so tired she can barely keep her eyes open. When she sits down, she pats the side of her clothes and feels the sending stone. She makes sure it sits in a safe position.
Shanolia makes sure she has all her weapons on her hips and her pack on her back before walking over to the rope ladder of the forward boat; pausing for a moment to watch as Zamar helps Polly down into the aft boat. After climbing down into the forward boat, she clutches her pendant and sends a quick prayer to her mother, as well as Lolth, for safe passage; for herself and for Polly.
As Alton climbs in the boat after Polly, Singe frowns and turns to Lera, "They're going to die, I'm going get them killed. But it might just be a wrecked ship, not a ghost infested mirage. But if it is... We should tell them to go back. But Polly will never forgive us." Singe makes a guttural sound and looks desperately at Lera.

Koll waits for the others and then climbs down the rope into the last available spot in the forward boat. He jumps into the boat a little recklessly, rocking it dangerously. "Sorry," he says, catching himself on the gunwale. He has no experience in or on boats, but it is also because after his heroics during the storm, he is feeling the thrill of adventure on the high seas. "Who's rowing?"
Singe rubs his eyes, "Nothing, that's the problem. I acted on my gut and now, I'm leading my older brother and a little girl to their doom. Or maybe not; I don't know. It's too dangerous, they shouldn't come."
"The relevant equation is: Knowledge = power = energy = matter = mass; a good bookshop is just a genteel Black Hole that knows how to read." - Terry Pratchett
Lera slapped Singe. “Pull yourself together,” she hissed. “If anyone else sees you freak out, they’ll start worrying. What about the sea monsters that may be lurking, ready to swallow this ship whole, huh?” Lera glared. “It’s dangerous everywhere, and I trust myself more than the flames.”

The Scarlet Dawn slowly makes their way over to the ship in the distance. The patter of rain makes it hard to focus on any other sounds aside from the oars crashing into the water. As they get closer to the derelict ship, they're able to make out some of the details. The ship lists to its starboard-side, making the deck easier to reach and see from that side. As the Flame said, the masts are completely destroyed. It's odd, but there are no bodies on the deck of the ship.
Perrin's boat stays slightly ahead of Zamar's, but he keeps the pace to prevent the boats from splitting up. A feeling of unease slowly creeps upon the group as they get closer and closer. It's as if they're being watched. Their eyes dart at the water around them, weary of every little ocean splash, but it's the deck where they spy movement first. The movement is quick and precise, two figures darting from behind the remains of the masts to the railing of the deck. Before anyone is able to say anything, Lera screams.
A massive shark surfaces from the ocean and bites her rowboat, wiggling as it tries to wrench the boat in two. Caught in its mouth is the half-chewed ribcage of some poor soul. Her scream is joined by Polly's as a scaled arm reaches up from the ocean to drag her in.

Lera pushes Polly out of the way and stepped in front of the fish creature that was trying to attack her. “Oy, ugly, pick on someone your own size,” she goaded it.
Upon hearing Lera's and Polly's screams, Shanolia acts quickly; in one smooth motion pulling a dagger from it's sheath at her hip and turning one-eighty. Flipping the dagger so she's holding it by the blade, the Elf quickly takes aim and throws the weapon at the shark, lodging it up to the hilt in the creature's flank. With any luck, she may be able to recover it later on.

Hearing his daughter and Polly scream, Zamar turns and sees the shark. Thinking quickly, he begins singing in an eerie baritone, "You'd like to be/Under the sea/In an octopus' graveyard today". The shark, spooked by the haunting melody, turns tail and begins to swim away. Alton slashes wildly at the retreating beast, but misses. Zamar, who was expecting this response, jabs forward with his rapier, skewering the beast solidly before it can fully retreat.
Not having any ranged options Perrin paddles the rowboat closer to there destination before climbing aboard and engaging with the closest aquatic creature.
Woe is standing on the boat moved by Perrin. Her hair is wet from the rain and sticks to the sides of her face. She feels the waves rhythmically moving her body and starts singing a melody in her head. She concentrates on the fish-monster that is trying to grab Lera. Woe's melody gets more discordant and includes screeches while Woe concentrates on her foe. The creature is wracked with terrible pain and is trying to flee. Lera quickly pushes her dagger into the beast's head. The arms flap a couple of times, then the body of the fish vanishes underneath the waves. Lera is sure it won't resurface.
When their boat reaches the big ship, Woe jumps aboard just behind Perrin, ready to attack the other two creatures.
// dissonant whispers WIS DC 13: failed (1d20 +1 = (7)+1 = 8) damage: (3+5+6) = 14

Koll clambers up the side of the derelict ship. He sizes up the the fish-faced man creatures on board. They are fascinating, something primordial and savage, and they clearly mean to do harm. Koll closes to the nearest one, keeping his footing on the sloped and slick deck, attacking with a swift tonfa strike and then delivering a sharp kick to the scaly thing's body.
Polly pulls a stopper from her tank and the water weird wraps around the girl in a protective gesture. Singe calls out for Alton to start rowing, so the halfling drops his shortsword and pulls up an oar. He begins paddling furiously.
One of the fish-faced creatures leaps from the ocean and wraps its arms around Singe as the boat lurches forward. Alton yells out, "Singe!" And just before it pulls him into the water, Singe is able to break its grip.
As the boat gets twenty feet closer to the ship, it explodes in pieces as the shark flies out of the water from below. The whole of its massive body is seen for a few moments before it lands back in the water amidst the now swimming occupants. Debris litters the ocean and rains down on them as Polly, Alton, Singe, Zamar, and Lera flail to stay above-water.
The creature on the ship, now face to face with the halfling and the human, chooses the smaller target. It screams out in an unknown language before reaching out with its claws. Its claw scrapes against Perrin's shoulder, failing to penetrate, but it leaves an opening in the halfling's defenses and the creature lunges forward for a bite. The sounds of teeth tearing through flesh is heard as it rips a chunk out of the halfling. The creature's companion gurgles with joy at the sight of the blood and rushes over to feast on the halfling. Learning from his mistake before, Perrin is able to batter the creature away with his shield to keep it at bay.
