Nock is unable to resist the spell despite his best efforts. But eventually, he's able to try again to break free after spending a turn mustering the will. As a result, he's just barely able to free himself of the magic!
End Turn: Wis Save(DC 17): 20.
By the time that happens though, the hazard continues to creep further along into the arena, tightening the proverbial noose.
Despite managing to ward off the Paladin and going largely untouched, in a surprising turn of events, Olly surrenders the match! With that, a horn blares and signal firebolts of various coloration flies up into the sky, signaling an end to the match. Constructs and medical staff enter the arena both to further ensure the stability of conditions and escorts the defeated to the trauma ward with a backdrop of cheers and applause for having fought valiant despite it all. For their participation and experience garnered in the coliseum, Olly receive 7000 xp and 1680 gp. Just enough for Olly to advance to the next round.
The victor is taken below to be patched up and receive their prize on the receding sounds of a crowd's cheers and well wishes. Nock earns 14000 xp and 4200 gp, and are ready to proceed to the next round as well.
Tier 3:
"Take any one item. We're well equipped." The room contains every item from Chapter 5 of the Player's Handbook weighing 70 pounds or less, armor of varying sizes, instruments, tool kits. Reading these books will grant you proficiency with any one tool kit or any one language, depending which book you choose. The books are magically infused to allow easy retention, but the magic is lost once used.

As the sun begins to slip over the horizon for Sel'eman, Arena Shapers and Constructs see to it that the woods are nice and spooky for the evening match to come.
To win: 1... Aggressive Opponents - Fight! Aggressive enemies will join the battle every four rounds. Defeat your opponents before you are overwhelmed.
The conditions: 2... Evening - In the dim failing light, the shadows of the arena grow long. Checks relying on sight will suffer disadvantage without Darkvision.
The Map: 8.... The Woods - A forest of tall trees laced with well worn intersecting paths, and fortified with a few wooden palisades. The smaller trees offer some cover but aren't strong enough to bear the weight of a man. The larger trees have dense branches producing a ceiling only 15 feet above the ground.

This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?

Larab strides into the battlefield, storming. Baral was in another game and he wanted to watch his brother lose, yet it would seem that now was his time. The eladrin samurai draws his bow and readies to make a name for himself.

Packer whistles a rough tune to himself as he walks into the arena. Flipping up the hood on his fur cloak he concentrates and draws upon the natural power within it. As he does so, his step lightens and he feels himself speed up a little. Waving his hand over the 10 large berries on his belt, they begin to glow with a hint of magic and Packer grins as he knows that they are now much more potent than any ordinary berries. With his shield in one hand, and a single dart in the other the human takes a deep breath.
Finally, stepping into the arena, Packer takes a quick glance around and bounces on the heels of his feet ready to fight.

Namor quickly downed his drink, retrieved the rest of his weapons, and headed out to the coliseum. He could barely contain his enthusiasm; he'd been promised by his patron that a good showing here could yield a reward. The sailor nodded to those nearby as he took his position, and cast a bit of preparatory magic.

Striding from the arena's stands is an imposing Leonin clad in dark-tinted plate intended to intimidate. Jagged icicles frosting his armor barely matches the cold, oppressive glint in his eyes. The woods - one of Zagathos's preferred combat grounds. A sneer curls over the Paladin's expression; too many opponents in the arena presented its own challenges, even if he had his own team to lead. Regardless, the Paladin stands, clawed hand gripping his amulet with a whisper to channel the favor of Bane. The Leonin raises his shield in the air, clangs the flat of his blade against the metal boss to proclaim his challenge, and unleashes a cry meant both to bolster the resolve of his allies and send fear through the minds of his enemies. Some battles are won before blades are drawn.
Pre-combat: Armor of Agathys. Initiative: 1 Starting position: G1. Preparation round: Action - rallying cry on any three allies, including self, within 30' of Zagathos.

As the contestants enter the arena, Marmaduke, a hill dwarf with blue scales in place of skin in places, flies out and above the arena to an already excited crowd, and then announces with a booming voice. "Ladies, Gentlemen, and All things in-between or beyond! Welcome to the Coliseum!" The crowd roar and cheers for a moment. "Now, I hope you're ready for another exciting match, for without further adieu, allow me to introduce your competitors!"
"First up, don't let the road weary eyes fool you into thinking this dwarf lost his spirit! For fire is their blood, and Iron as surely their will as their patron god! Now give it up for, Barbar, THE Artisan of the Forge!" A mountain dwarf with a shaved side top-knot style hair, and both bedecked and protected in plate and a very shiny shield takes his place calling upon a miracle to further add to his defenses.
"Next, Hailing from parts unknown, but clearly looking to put her devotion to the test and make a name for herself is none other than, Blossom ever Heart!" A woman with dark flowing hair strides into position with an enchanted blade at her side, and shield alongside chain mail as her main protection.
"For our next competitor we have a bearer of the wild and indomitable bestial spirits looking to mold himself into something truly unbreakable! Darrik Orkfoe Jr. the Unkillable!" A Hill Dwarf with a bedraggled beard with a hint of green to it stands ready to move from the start with a confidence in enchanted gauntlets, half plate armor, and shield seeing him through to the end.
"Up next we have a dabbler into the arcane, but a duel wielding swordsman at heart, Dimitri Sparrowward!" An elder gentleman and lightly armored takes up a position with twin longswords in hand and enchanting looking cloak fluttering lightly behind him.
"To follow I present to you the meanest mug on this side of the Kazadar Sea, Jackrum the Scarred!" A tall half elf in full plate armor with a heavily scarred face, and a enchanted shield in hands takes up a position further enhancing his defenses with a touch of divine magic.
"Now representing the more martial side of a certain eladrin family, and seeking a bit of fame to boot this day is Lightning Blade Larab!" A nimble, grim-faced eladrin stepped into place wearing dusty leather armor and slinging a sleek bow on his back.
"Speaking of the seas again, it seems the catch of the day is a bit of a champion of a Deep One, Namor the Nefarious!" A human man swaggers onto the staging area with glaive in hand, frost covered plate armor worn, and what little can be seen of tattoos coming to life, further empowering him.
"I present to you next a man that lives up to his name after a fashion, what with the small arsenal of weapons on his person, Packer Singh!" A human man with practically a bandolier worth of sharp darts slotted on his person, several large berries dangling from his belt, a pristine breastplate and wooden shield as his main form of bodily protection, and a cloak that shifts in tone as if in readiness to blend into the environment. Yet even the cloak's magic is not enough to mask a readiness to rush to the field after passing along a berry to an ally.
"Try not to quake in your boots everyone as introduce the beast of a paladin with the roar to prove it, Zealous Zagothos!" Striding into place at the staging area is an imposing Leonin clad in dark-tinted plate covered in a layer of frost. After calling forth a blessing from Bane to bolster the resolve of both himself and his fellow, the Conqueror stands at the ready.
"And... ho' boy... Finally! To help round out this cast of colorful competitors, say hello... the Barbarian, Leh Si!" A large, almond eyed human bearing a Yklwa in one hand, a shield in the other, and enchanted cloak fluttering in the wind behind him steps up(to 16N) looking ready to rush out at the word go(moved to 11P).
"With that! Let the final match of the day...BEGIN!!!

(OOC: @Aaron; Dmitri is in the game... They are PC #5 on the winning team ;) (Team 1). Besides that, Packer will toss his goodberry to Zagathos. Also, just wanted to check with @Orileo. The description makes it appear like the entire arena is in dim light which counts as Lightly Obscured and would allow Packer to hide anywhere in the arena (even in plain sight of an enemy) as long as he was outside of their darkvision radius (60 feet for most of the opponents). Correct?)
Before the games start, Packer takes one of his large berries and detaches it from his belt. Tossing it to the large lion warrior he says, "This can heal someone if they fall unconscious. It might take a moment to feed them, but you'll likely be on the frontlines more than I." Packer bull rushes forward as soon as the buzzer goes off. The dart-thrower is pleased to be starting his first fight, and he plans to open it with a bang. Not being as well hidden as he had hoped was a minor inconvenience as he runs forward and reaches a wall near the center of the arena. Within seconds the cloaked warrior has scaled the wall and as he stares down at the enemy ranks he notices a muscular midget with a fancy shield and armor and decides that he would challenge himself for his first shot. The tip of Packer's tongue pokes out of his mouth as he balances on the wall and aims. Then with a practiced motion, a dart seems to leap out of his bandolier and into his free hand of its own volition. With the missile fired, the ranger doesn't even look to see if the missile landed and instead hops down from the wall and swishes his cloak around him. There is a brief moment where a determined grin can be seen on Packer's face before the fighter disappears from view and sprints off to locations unknown.

(( Namor's Initiative: 9 ))
(( Namor takes a position at D1, uses an action and a 1st-level spell slot to cast Armor of Agathys, and a bonus action to empower his Eldritch Claw Tattoo. ))

Initiative: 1
Starting position: G1.
Preparation round:
Action - rallying cry on any three allies, including self, within 30' of Zagathos.
Barbär hears the call out and does some last minute armor adjustments, and heads to the starting area.
As he looks around he gives a nod of acknowledgement to those he spoke to before the fight, not sure who will be on whose teams.
He will ready up, casting Shield of Faith on himself. Initiative: 10

Blossom pulls her sword and gets ready.
Team(1): Blossom will fight with... (8)Packer... (10) Zagathos.... (5) Darrik.... (2)Dimitri!
Team(2): Namor meanwhile shall fight alongside Larab, Leh Si, Jackrum and Barbar!
(O ,P ,Z , D , I VS N, L, B, E, J)
Team(1)(Blossom, Packer, Zagathos, Darrik, and Dimitri will go first!)
Team(1) is up!
