(A bit disconnected here since I can't reliably load maps with the spotty signal I'm working on until the end of the month. However, still plenty interested in continuing. Side note: I would love to keep this group rocking after ToA is done. If anyone is interested, I'm trialing my own campaign on DDB. Would be great to have a second party with very different dynamics run through to see what's different. If Crispy would like to DM another, then I have no issue being a PC for another romp regardless :) )
Grishkar Darkmoor, Necromancer of Nerull the Despiser Kelvin Rabbitfoot, Diviner, con artist, always hunting for a good sale Bründir Halfshield, Valor Bard, three-time Sheercleft Drinking Competition Champion, Hometown hero
ROOM #1 of 10, LEVEL 1, ROTTEN HALLS: THE STONE SKULL
If you take a look in the DM notes, on level 1, you are in front of the room all the way east with what looks like all the sqiggles. A giant stone skull crusted with moss juts out from the end of the passageway. This is where you are now. A flame flickers within each of its eye sockets, and a view into a chamber beyond can be seen through its open jaws.
Clayton will stick his blade partially through the jaws of the skull, to see if it will bite it or something along those lines, or perhaps block it if it will in fact bite.
Shariel will reach across the threshold with one of her blades as well to see if the other fire goes out.

“Ok. Seems that a flame goes out whenever something goes through. What next? I’m still gonna try to jam this thing if it clamps. I don’t trust anything about this place.”

As you finish your sentence, Clayton, the jaws of the skull shut tight. Good thing no one was in there. The sound it made when it closed gave you an idea of the force behind it.
“Huh. Well, let’s see if we can break in!” Clayton will change his sword into a Maul. Clayton would like to swing his giant magic hammer into the forehead of the skull.

Skulls crusted with dried mud glower from niches cut into the walls of this tomb. A stone sarcophagus stands at the center of the chamber, its lid adorned with a coiled serpent carved in relief. Behind the sarcophagus, resting atop a marble pedestal, is an ornate crystal box with a small humanoid skull floating inside it.
Inside this room are uncountable holes in the walls, and you can hear the faint yet grotesque scuttling of insects from within. Hundred of tarantula-sized undead spiders crawl through these warrens.
“Haha! Bite me, Acerack! No shame in getting beat by a Cowboy!” However, Clayton takes step away from the spiders, “Er, Slither, I think that snake is your jurisdiction.”

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Moa's host, does Slither feel any connection to this room or have any clues? He'll turn invisible then approach the sarcophagus and pedestal and have a look while keeping an eye on the spiders. Perception: 23
You do feel a connection to this room. It appears to be the resting place of Moa. As you remember from your studies, Acererak murdered all of the Tricker Gods a long time ago. Moa must be buried here. As you look at the sarcophagus, you can tell it's light enough for you to remove the top. Who knows what's inside, or how other things in the room might react.

One of the flames in the eyes of the skull wink out. And stays out.
“Oh. Might’ve done something. I’m not sure that it’s good though.”

PWFF. The other eye flame snuffs out.

OOC: Now, just a question, my sword was already placed there. It is a special sword, did it not manage to block the full closing? If not, that’s fine.

It did not. The force of the jaws caused it to fall flat.

Go for it. I would say any attack roll over 15 manages to damage it enough to render it inoperative.
“Clayton smash! Always wanted to say that...” Attack: 18 Damage: 11 magic bludgeoning damage. 2nd Swing: Attack: 17 Damage: 8 magic bludgeoning damage. 3rd Swing: Attack: 22 Damage: 11 magic bludgeoning damage.

Acererak's head pops through the wall, phantasmically, and says. "It's 'Acererak', mortal FOOL!", and vanishes, annoyed with your mispronunciation.
Clayton’s mustache wiggles surprisedly as he mutters, “Learning all kinds of new things today...”
