This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tabaqui uses his round 4 reaction for an uncanny dodge to halve the damage from the slashing + feed on pain attack.
Actions Round 5
Bonus action: disengage from Gorgon
Move: Southwest away from Gorgon and out of the water if possible as far as he can.
He will close his eyes before turning to attack.
Attack: Shortbow fired at Gorgon (eyes closed so DA) Attack: 14 -- Damage: 7 + 16 sneak attack, all piercing.
He shouts to her, "This is pointless! You will never get your revenge by killing us! Tyreus is your true enemy! Help us defeat him for the terrible wrong he has done to you! Let us call truce and face our true enemy together!"
Giving advantage from that is probably too generous. Attacking from behind a minor illusion would normally cause it to become faint, per the last line in the description: 'if a creature discerns the illusion for what it is, the illusion becomes faint to the creature.'. Unlike normal cover, which does not grant advantage on attacks because you'd have to come out from behind it to make the attack by line of sight, the first attack from behind/within minor illusion would have the advantage to hit because the illusion was still intact, but after the first attack, subsequent attacks do not. I've found no concensus on how DMs rule this, bit this is pretty well the middleground response. The minor illusion does still retain its reflective properties, though, meaning the gorgon is actively trying not to look at Calner. It is the actual reason why she didn't send three arrows his way instead aiming at Walks. These stacked benefits are why I thinknit would be TOO generous to also give it advantage.
Given the delay between stated intent and ruling imposed by pbp, you csn choose to perform a different action instead if you would like, or reroll with DA.
(Question- is the petrifying gaze from the PC looking at the gorgon, or from the gorgon looking at the PC? Is the effect from her eyes only? For example, if I am looking at her tail or the back of her head, but avoiding looking her in the eye?
Tabaqui - rogues can't use sneak attack if they have DA. I think it was based on 5ft proximity to a hostile creature, but at the time that condiction was also unmet, so take your pick. The attack hits, though, and Tabaqui easily makes his way to dry land, away from the shoreline by up to 20ft if desired.
"Who? I know no Tyreus. Twas the gods cursed us, fool. The immortal gods, who know not of death took my Kathikon. I will never have my revenge on the gods." The gorgon wails.
Co templating the matter for a moment, she asks (again, technically) "Are you Gods?"
(Oh, it looked to me like Marlyth was within 5 ft of the gorgon. Or if you use the prior map, then Calner was. If it requires keeping his eyes open to get the sneak attack, then he will keep them open.)
Tauzan will first attack with his boomerang (Attack: 21 Damage: 8). He will then move his full movement (45 ft) to the left, wanting to end up at least 10 ft. from the edge of the water.)
(Note - I don't think he is in the darkness, but if so he would move out first to avoid DA on the attack.)
"We are not gods," he says in response to the gorgon's words. "If it's them you're angry at, why attack us?"
(Question- is the petrifying gaze from the PC looking at the gorgon, or from the gorgon looking at the PC? Is the effect from her eyes only? For example, if I am looking at her tail or the back of her head, but avoiding looking her in the eye?
Sorry I missed rhis question because of crossposting. Where I'm writing a page that hasn't refreshed, posting after your post, then not scrolling up to see it because I'm not expecting anything new.
Petrifying gaze saves are rolled on a creature's initiative as a result of seeing her eyes. The effect is limited to a range of 30ft. A human had a field of view ca. 120 degrees and so does this gorgon (though I can easily imagine a gorgon with snakes for hair that can see in all directions like a beholder, it's not this one). So, yes a creature can attack from behind the gorgon without being effected, if it can manage to sneak up on her or otherwise successfully distract her. She doesn't have to turn her whole body just her head, and one of her legendary actions is movement, so it is inherently difficult to execute, but in theory, it can work.
Because I left the forgot out in the open, forgetting she wasn't topnof the initiative, looking is an option, that still wouldn't grant SA, if its based on the 5ft oroximity. That condition was net onnher turn when she entered the darkness. It would mean that Tsbsqui would have to save against the gorgons gaze. I am certain she would loom at him as he successfully escaped her grapple. I do not think looking at her would have a benefit, but I could be wrong. Again, sorry for the confusion. I just failed to look at the initiative lists before posting actions.
Tauzen:
The gorgon is in darkness, so AD and DA are washed, since you both can't see each other whether you are in it or not.
(Sorry, that didn't really clarify what I was asking about the gorgon. If it only matters if the PC sees her eyes, then can't the PC studiously look everywhere but her eyes, and yet still see the target? I mean, I can look at another human and not see their eyes, especially if I'm trying. I can just look at their feet, for example. So, maybe it doesn't matter if the PC sees her, but if gorgon sees the PC's eyes?
Edit- If I end my turn outside the 30 feet range of the gaze, but she then closes the gap during her turn, do I get the chance to close my eyes again before I start my next turn?)
(I will withdraw the sneak attack. and keep my eyes wide shut.)
This is a fine grain mechanic that makes things like this hard to run. I would say the difference between not looking at a moving target trying to hit you and deliberately not looking at its eyes would probably be only slightly, if at all, different in real life. Within the game its a mechanical choice. Where you can either risk the gaze to avoid DA and allow AOO, SA or whatever else hinges on the ability to see the opponent, or you avert your gaze; could be eyes closed or just looking off center. As written the specific condition is "can see her eyes' so I think if a character is hidden, like they used the hide action or a successful illusion or invisible, they could sneak up to melee and strike, but it's not free. I wouldn't say "I walk right past her with my eyes closed then when I'm standing right behind her I open my eyes and melee her" works. If she sees you walking right past her, she'll most likely turn her head and torso to watch what your doing; she's also trying to attack you. One part of the game design that's tricky about the possibility of distraction and her ability to do so is the balance between the realism of the events unfolding within 6 seconds of a round and initiative order. I would say the fact that reactions exist is enough evidence to say people can turn their head even when it's not their turn, they just can't use movement. We already established they can speak when not their turn, so turning their heads just seems to accompany that. I hope this helps to clarify how I interpret this mechanic.
Before making his second save vs Petrification, Angus will cry out:
"I am no god, but I serve one! Tell us the tale of Kathikon, perhaps there is something that can be done! Did they die? Who was the villain who took them from you?"
Rhe boomerang bounces off the gorgon, who glares at Tauzen and (or where she rhinks he is based on the boomerang; due to magical darkness, the two can't see each other) and replies: "Then DIE!"
These last lines are from Ghostbusters
Hamish eruots: "You killed Waltarn! I will never see him or Sylvene again because of you@ Now you will pay." He rants as he splashes into the shallow water and (though his eyes are closed so he could not say so, into the bubble of darkness)
Hamish cleaves the gorgon's scaly flesh. She wails in agony then roars. "You thieves took the sacred stone and the gods punished our failure. Now Karhikon is gone. Gone. Because you had to come and take the stone!"

CON save vs petrification: 15
(am I unpetrified this turn, or not til next?)
If you were only restrained from 1st fail, second attempt success this round is at the start of your turn, so you would have your whole turn available to use this round.
Dexterity Saving Throw x Poisoned Water: Auto Fail (Blinded due to Darkness spell)
Constitution Saving Throw x Poison Damage: (15, 4) + 1 (Poisoned, rolled with disadvantage)
Constitution Check(To maintain concentration): (12, 12) + 1(rolled with disadvantage)
(rolled in gamelog)
(Marlyth's Turn: Round 5)
Marlyth fails to discern the condition of her surrounding since she's temporarily lost her eyesight, and she feels the effect of poison. She moves out of the pool of water leaving the sphere of darkness while stumbling and gasping for air, then drops on the ground with eyes closed and attempts to heal herself.
"We weren't the people who stole your stone, but we would like to claim something else from this place...for greater good."
Angus will cast cure wounds at level 2 for 2d8+3 healing on Hamish (this is 19hp if beacon of hope is still in effect (from #1450), otherwise it is 15 hp healing, and then move behind the giant to gain cover.
So which saves does Tabaqui need to make at beginning of turn?
DEX roll to escape grapple: 13
Successful, so no longer restrained.
DEX Save vs poison splash 13
fail so now CON save vs poisoning: 16
@Syd: That covers it for saves. Round 5 Actions?
