Inglenook nods at the professor, whilst keeping a close eye on the battle himself.
"No it doesn't breathe fire, but you know what......That sounds like something I should add to my list!" And the gnome takes out a book and jots something down, draws a quick sketch.
He closes the book and pockets it before looking at the enemy ahead and the battle ongoing.
Thaddeus continues writing furiously as the combat unfolds. He winces as the Dragonborn scores a hit on Travis. “Gotta work on his shield arm,” he mutters to himself and makes a note of it in his book.

Travis is unaware of the steel cat thing and the surrounding discussion of it, as he is single-minded in his focus on the fight.
He lets out a load grunt as the dragonborn's mightly blow lands hard. He grits his teeth and bears down, still ready to fight on. No one said this was going to be easy.
He waits a brief moment, then strikes again, maneuvering in close and looking to bring the dragonborn to the ground with the combined strength of his sword attack and a vicious kick to the knee.

On a hit, Travis uses Combat Superiority die to add d8 damage and use Trip. Dragonborn must make DC 13 STR save or be knocked prone. Combat Superiority Die 7
If the dragonborn is knocked prone, Travis will use Action Surge for another attack w/advantage Longsword Attack: 21 Damage: 8
Cale winces as Travis takes a big hit and the rogue gets ready to intervene. But then the human fights back with impressive skill, potentially turning the battle.
"He might have this, you know..."
Nevertheless, Cale tries to position himself so that he has clear LOS to as many enemy as possible without bunching up to his colleagues.
For a moment, Travis thinks he's going to drive his opponent to the ground, but the big dragonborn stays on his feet. Travis's aggressive maneuver leaves him open to another hard shot from the dragonborn.
He grits his teeth, gathering his strength. Just like before, this is going to be a hardfought battle. Bonus - Use Second Wind to gain 13

"You too,"Travis mutters through gritted teeth after taking another hard shot. After that first rushed, errant swing, the dragonborn's strikes have been far more accurate than in their previous battle.
He hesitates a moment longer than usual, hoping to throw off his opponent's rhythm. Then, he ducks, moving in close again, trying stay inside the larger warrior's long reach. He thrusts his sword forward in a piercing blow.
OOC: I'm going to continue rolling just the initial attack in case I want to use inspiration or superiority dice.

Then, one of the four cultists forming the perimeter says, "Cyanwrath will make short work of Greenest's hero, but these others have desecrated our holy place for too long. You three take his companions, and I will make sure they stay away from the duel!"
(Inglenook, Cale, and the Prof. need to roll initiative, and I'll roll for Escobert and the cultists. I'll work everyone into the next round of combat with Travis and Cyanrwath in the order they rolled)
