Inglenook shows his frustration, by slapping his thighs and looking up at the smoke filled sky, at not being able to protect the mother in time. But soon elated that she is now being looked after.
He spots the kobold (#8) escaping, trying to find some reinforcements and picks two items from his left jacket pocket.
He attaches a metallic item with a sticky substance to a nearby pot full of soil, utters some words then uses a tube with lenses to look through to pinpoint the kobold (#8) The pot flies directly at the kobold...
Spell - Catapult
Choose one object weighing 1 to 5 pounds within range that isn’t being worn or carried. The object flies in a straight line up to 90 feet in a direction you choose before falling to the ground, stopping early if it impacts against a solid surface. If the object would strike a creature, that creature must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the object strikes the target and stops moving. When the object strikes something, the object and what it strikes each take 3d8 bludgeoning damage.

On Kirari's turn she will target Kobold8 with her crossbow trying to stop its escape while in pursuit. Attack: 4 Damage: 4
"Arm yourself with one of their weapons in case more show up." She calls out to the man near his wife hoping to distract him from concern over his wife during battle and keep him focused
Travis' axe rings true and catches the kobold in the back of the head as it had stopped to make that perception check just at the end of Travis' normal range. The kobolds have all been defeated! (It's assumed we do not need the remaining attack actions)
Lillian is awake now and says to the adventurers, "Thank you so much for what you have done for me and my family! We were on our way to the Greenest Keep as these things are everywhere. It is just north of here, and it looks like the raiders are running from house to house. I wish there was something I could do to repay you, but our home down the path is in flames, and we only saved some family heirlooms." She frowns and struggles to sit up a bit straighter.
Cale looks around at the tiny bodies, his face emotionless. Sheathing his blades he looks up to his doppelganger and says lightly "I guess it's easy to tell us apart now eh? I'm the one that's handy in a fight"
Disappointed at the lack of immediate reward, he tries to sound convincing when he says "That's quite alright madam, we are here to save lives not line our pockets"

Half-Orc adrenaline cooling seeing the fleeing Kobold fall, she turns to family. "You should take whatever weapons you can use from these creatures," passing her gear from the fallen Kobolds then glancing at the limping man. "Let me take a look at that leg." She has no spells left, but Medicine skill 13 and will do anything she can to splint the injury to enhance his movement. Lillian is still in poor shape as well.
She looks to the others for suggestions, concerned about leaving the family here. "Maybe we should check see if there are any clues to who this boss is?"
Inglenook rummages in his pockets again and draws out the cube he used earlier to help the young boy. With his tools and some incantations he manipulates the arcane energy within, to form light instead of sounds.
He walks over to the children and speaks to the eldest of the three. "Well hello, my name is Inglenook. You have all been very brave thus far, but we are here to help you, just take a look at my friends. Especially that one,"and he points to Travis. "Massive huh? And the best bit is, he's on our side......Here, take this." And he hands over the inanimate cube. "When you are in a dark place and need light, just hold it close to your mouth and whisper 'Illuminate' and it will glow and provide light in dark places. When you need darkness again, just whisper 'shadows'. It won't last forever I'm afraid, I'm not that clever. Wish I was, but alas I'm still learning. He he."
If he has time, he will also fashion a walking cane from any wood and metal lying around with his smith's tools. Something basic and crude, and hand it to the father which should help him move quicker with an injured leg.
He turns to the group, "They were heading for the keep. Seems like it could be the safest place in the town, and I don't like being out in the open with dragons and kobolds running around. I suggest we help them make it there and collect as many others as we can on the way." And he heads over to stand near Cale.
The children's eyes go wide as they see Inglenook's gift, and they smile at the gnome. The oldest child looks in the pouch he is carrying and pulls out an ivory mug with the town landmarks of Greenest painted on it. He looks to his father who nods and says, "As my wife said, we don't have much, but we are eternally in your debt. Thank you for caring for us, and for helping us with this cane and tending our injuries. Please take this as a token of my thanks. It was my father's father's mug." Lillian takes the daggers from Kiari and thanks the group as well by saying, "You will find out more about whomever is leading this attack from Nighthill in the keep. That is where we were heading, but our neighbor also has a cellar over there, and I think it would be best if my family rests there for a while." She gestures across the street. "I know you have all proven your bravery tonight. If you want to seek shelter with us, I can see if there is enough space in the cellar to try and wait out the night. Otherwise, the keep is that way." She points north, and you see its outline against the smoke and flames of the surrounding town. The street curves in that direction and crosses the stream about 25 yards in front of you
Keen to secure some form of agreement for reimbursement for his efforts, Cale says to the group "I think we should push on to the keep. The good family here are a short leap from safety and we can secure...guidance... from Nightill there"
Kirari glances at the cellar, and nods. "I think we will continue on, see if others need help and find out more about what's happening. But that might be best for you. We can watch to be sure you get in and you are able to secure the door before we leave."
As she waits for them to get settled into the neighbor's cellar, she will search over the Kobolds to see if they have anything useful on them.
Kirari gathers up a couple slings and a couple daggers as well as the Dragon Necklace and puts it in her pack and watches until the family is secure in the cellar. "Off to the keep?" She inquires of the rest of the group. Then starts heading North in the direction Lillian had pointed, around the curve and over the stream. Hoping the others will follow.

Constitution savings throw for kobold #2:12 and kobold #6: 10
Kobolds #2 and #6 wake up to be struck by lightning and both take damage!
Cale should be up again (as long as I am keeping track correctly)
Cale swings at the nearest kobold, moving on to a second target if the first falls.
Shortsword Attack: 21 Damage: 7
Dagger Attack: 24 Damage: 4
Sneak attack 4
Kobolds #2 and #6 are killed by Cale! Achievement unlocked: Kobold revenge ;)
Kobold #8 is still trying to run away and is trying to see if he can spot other raiders down the road to get help. Perception: 13
Travis is up followed by Breena, Inglenook, Lillian, Kiari, and last (but certainly not least) Willian aka Cale the second

(edit: I just found the post where #4 died, so all we have is kobold #8 trying to escape)

((Sorry for delay; must've missed that my turn was up again))
Travis pulls a handaxe from his belt and hurls it at the fleeing kobold (assuming it's in range).
Attack: 16 Damage: 10

The kobolds each have a dagger and sling. They do not carry any loot, and one has a crudely carved dragon figurine on a necklace
