(@Snake: It's okay. Death in the Coliseum, if not previously mentioned before, is not permanent. If you would outright due to overkill or enough failed death saves, the body is dropped out of the arena and revived by the staff asap. You just won't advance unless its via the other previously mentioned ways; such as 2 match lost on the same level or victory.)

Baral sees the new person, Kopolony, enter the room. He waves and comes over.
"Another wizard? A pleasure to meet you." He picks up an ale as well. "Though you say you try to stay out of harm's way, I have a different approach to combat." He nudges the rapier on his hip.

“Worst thing? I met a rust monster a few months back. That’s the only reason I carry more than one rapier with me. I suppose you wouldn’t have problem like that, though.”

“I’ve actually been doing this kind of thing for a while, but fighting bandits and goblins began to get boring. I came to this coliseum looking for a challenge.” Baral smirks. “I think I found one.”

“I remember my first fight. My monastery was under attack and I was using the outhouse. I got back and all the masters were dead and all the students, except for me, were taken hostage for a price of millions of platinum from the town. I climbed the side of the monastery and systematically took out every assailant and took back the monastery. One of the captors had a pamphlet for this place on him and I made my way here!” He chuckles and takes another big swig of his beer and then walks behind the bar looking for another

Sha'kar overhears the conversation between the two wizards and wanders over with a chuckle. "I'm with you," he tells Baral. "I much prefer to be right in the thick of things." He pats the rapier hanging at his own hip.
You see an Aarakocra swoop down towards the ground in front of you. "Ah, it's good to see another monk again."he says as he looks at Gin Rummy. "The name is Lumimar. Pleasure to meet you."

(Would there be a place where characters could heal in between matches if they are going straight from one into another?)
(And does that also mean I need to switch from milestone to xp?)
(You are assumed to have had a long rest in between matches every time. And yes, you want to switch to XP.)

Gin rummy looks around for anyone else waiting for a match in the coliseum
He laughs, sits at the bar and orders some for himself
“Nervous! I ain’t nervous! I just wanna get into the fray, show my stuff, that sort of thing! What’s your specialty? I’m a monk.”
Baral sees the new person, Kopolony, enter the room. He waves and comes over.

“Aye! Look who it is! This guy, this guy can fight!”
he takes a big gulp of ale, the cup being almost half his size cause he’s only about 2’10
“what’s the worst thing you’ve survived on your journey so far?”
Baral scratches his head.

“I had a staring contest with a basilisk! I won. But you are correct my very very tall friend, rust monsters are not a worry of mine.”
“I would be a worthy bet and surly bring you much money”
“But next match, we will fight together”
“So Baral? How did you get into all this adventure and fighting thing? What’s your story?”
“I’ve actually been doing this kind of thing for a while, but fighting bandits and goblins began to get boring. I came to this coliseum looking for a challenge.” Baral smirks. “I think I found one.”
