"More snakes? Right, what else could it be..." (but the sneaky venomous menace of the accursed jungles!) The silent part was obvious and Kairus did not waste his breath saying it out loud.
Kairus found his trusty crossbow nearby, raised to his feet, squinted into the direction Krodhen was pointing and sent the bolt at the nearest snake (JE/JF).
Perhaps a light sleeper, Rhogal is the first to rise following Krodhen's warning. The druid's spores latch on to the closest serpent, but only barely. (Jaculi#1 takes 1 necrotic damage.)
Kairus follows shortly after, with an attack of his own. A crossbow bolt flies through the air after the triton finishes rising. The projectile pierces the long body of that same serpent. (Jaculi#1 takes 6 piercing damage.)
For now, the creature seems somewhat undisturbed, its eyes clearly trained on Krodhen. The same can be said for its companion. From their spots atop vegetation, both snakes spring down with surprising speed, their bodies uncoiling like springs and their fangs assuming striking positions.
Despite their enviable camouflage, the serpents can only claim one successful attack. It is somewhat fitting that Krodhen is the one to pay the price for not noticing these predators' approach. (Krodhen takes 15 piercing damage.)
Now on the ground, the serpents rise and reveal their full length, their scales shifting in color like that of a chameleon's. Each reptile is a 15-foot-long snake that can alter the color and texture of its scales to camouflage itself. A couple of them are still in the process of altering their appearance back from resembling tree branches and foliage, to now match that of short grasses and stones so they can "disappear" against the ground.
JACULI:
(Krodhen, Hun, and Yulmiath are up next. Hun, Yulmiath and Kwilgok are in melee with Jaculi#4.)
Cursing as he scrabbled to his feet, Hun soon after found himself looking about confused for a moment, before finally seeming to make out the snake. "... Interesting adaption... You'll make for fine material!"The kobold declared as the shield snatched up during the initial panicked roll is swiftly strapped into place. Digging deep afterwards, Hun drew forth the recently kindled draconic fury and let out an unnerving, rattling hiss back at the Jaculi to keep it distracted and thrown off kelter.
Movement: Stand up(and if possible).
Action: Don Shield.
Bonus Action: Release Draconic Cry, granting advantage to all attacks vs Jaculi#4(and any other enemies within 10ft of Hun).

(@MB: To make the most out of that crit, I'll assume Yulmiath moves a bit during his turn.)
Trying to right his wrong (i.e. allowing the party to be surprised in the night) Krodhen picks one of the nearby snakes and swears a short vow of enmity. The paladin then quickly brings his weapon down on his sworn reptilian foe.
Still getting up form his nap, Hun has to spend some time donning his shield regardless of the enemy's proximity. He doesn't stop there, however. Invoking a fearsome draconic cry, the kobold ensures the nearest serpent understands it is not at the top of the food chain in this situation.
The roar also serves to embolden Yulmiath, who makes short work of the frightened snake. Then, rushing to the next nearest reptile, the dragonborn delivers another powerful blow, though this one falls short of killing its target. (Jaculi#4 takes 30 magical slashing damage and is DEFEATED; Jaculi#3 takes 22 magical slashing damage.)
At this point, now finally standing back up, Kwilgok warns the rest of the group: "These are Jaculi! They coil around pillars and tree trunks from which they launch themselves like a javelin, striking with great force and accuracy. Don't let them climb up the trees again!" Armed only with a crossbow, Kwilgok tries to deliver a killing blow to Yulmiath's current foe.
Krodhen's swing is a powerful one. The snake in question is dazed by the attack but remains a threat to the half-orc. (Jaculi#1 takes 11 magical bludgeoning damage.)
The same cannot be said of Kwilgok's crossbow bolt. It seems the tortle guide has not rubbed all of the sleep off his eyes just yet. The projectile hits a nearby palm tree instead. He tries to save face: "Kill the trees and the Jaculi won't have anything to climb onto!"

Unfortunately, Kairus could not help at the moment to Krodhen and send another bolt at the snake attacking him. One of the attackers came too close and took all his attention. The triton did not shoot this time, instead, he sent towards JJ/JK his tried-and-true hissing, a special insult designed for the slithering folk. (Vicious Mockery for 3 Wis save 15)

Staggering groggily to his feet, his greataxe clutched in his hands. Empowered by Hun's cry of defiance, Yulmiath swings at Jaculi#4.
Action: Attack: 6 Damage: 24
(Using advantage from Hun's Draconic Cry and GWM to try to kill this one quickly.)
Reaction: Should a Jaculi within 5ft of him attack Yulmiath on their turn, he will burn vengeful assault to show them why that was a mistake.
