Yulmiath swings his greataxe at the creature again. You'd think losing a tentacle would dissuade it from pursuing this prey, but he guesses that when you've got so many others, you can be a little more relaxed about losing one. Yulmiath hopes to add to the number of lost appendages.

(OOC Yul spends his bardic inspiration on the attack roll - 2.)
Kairus was absolutely genuine in his prases of Krodhen's aim! If now they changed the places, well, any fight is always unpredictable, like the sea! "Did not mean to steal your luck!" Kairus waived to Krodhen and tried to shoot again:
Shaking off the rhetoric that caused him to lose his focus, Krodhen concentrates back on the creature and attempts to strike a truer blow than last time
The next several attacks come in fast, one after the other. Hun composes himself while Yulmiath swings his axe one more time. Much like the last icy projectile, this next one doesn't quite reach the creature's center mass. Similarly, the dragonborn's swing somehow misses all tentacles in front of the him.
It is an inspired Krodhen who manages to land the killing blow. Another thrust of his javelin goes into and through the creature's mouth, forcing it into a limp state immediately. (Decapus takes 9 piercing damage and is DEFEATED.)
Kairus had already pressed the trigger on his crossbow, so his bolt lands on an already dead enemy. Rhogal continues to wade his way to the group, arriving at the scene just as the creature slumps over.
WE ARE NOW OUT OF INITIATIVE. YOU MAY DO AS YOU WILL.
"Phew!" Kairus wiped nonexistent sweat from his brows, sheathed his crossbow and moved towards the - hopefully - fully dead creature. "Now can someone tell what was it?" He looked at the creature with curiosity but then glanced at Yulmiath, pointed up and if Dragonborn swam up to get some air, followed. "Sit still for a second - there is a special melody only this beauty can play!"The melody was indeed sweet and strangely pain-soothing if a bit too breath. (Cure Wounds for 12 on Yulmiath) "Better? Needed sometimes. Well, I'll go look at the monster again, maybe find a bolt there."Kairus slid into the water and swam back to the creature, searching for bolts.
With the creature finally defeated and his tookus spared, Hun started to breaths a mental sigh of relief. He then motions for everyone to surface, but hardly waits for confirmation prior to make the retreat himself. Once freed to breath again, he just tread water for a while and halfway enjoyed the salty air. "That was no octopus for sure." Hun said. Though whether that was in belated answer to Kairus question or his own voicing aloud his thoughts was hard to tell.
But with the thought now in the air, Hun summoned ye 'o scalp massager to help relax the tension and focus his mind on piecing together the possiblities. For if there likely to be more of them, the idea of sticking around would shrivel in mind.

Withdrawing his javelin from the beast, Krodhen swims for the surface as well to take in a much needed breath.
Looking at Yulmiath with just a slight hint of annoyance he comments briefly "This graveyard is just full of surprises....." before diving back down to try his luck investigating the area around the creature, looking for any trinkets or treasure that might be around
Investigation: 18
As he swims past the creature, he does spare a moment to consider whether he has heard of this creature before
Since Yulmiath does not need to return to the surface for air, he considers remaining where he is and searching the wreck, but since that kind of behaviour almost made him lunch for a sea-creature, he elects to head up to the surface.
"No idea what that thing was, it had tentacles coming out of its tentacles! Ain't like no octopus I ever saw! And likely if it weren't for you all, I'd be down there forever."
A moment passes before he adds: "Are we bringing it up from the depths? We might want a late lunch or afternoon snack?"
Waiting until the rest of the group dips back below the water, Yulmiath follows them down.
(The healing melody could as well be played underwater - for Kairus it does not matter. One way or another but Yulmiath gets his 12 HP)
"I think we still have enough crab and smoked bid meat," said Kairus doubtfully looking at the suspicious tentacles. "Octopuses are not bad as food, good, in fact, but that one... I might be tempted - slightly - but not sure even Grandpa's magic can make that monster readable."
"Well it's either us that eats this thing or the gulls. Considering what other birds we've seen, so far, I'd say we're better off not giving them the chance ta get anywheres close to us."
Prioritizing the well being of his companions, Kairus plays a magical tune from his enchanted lute and watches as some of Yulmiath's wounds close even before the dragonborn and the rest of the group emerge from their dive. (Yulmiath recovers 12 HP.)
The next priority, as it always seemed to be the case with this party, is to ponder on how to make a meal out of their defeated foe. Perhaps surprisingly, Kairus argues that a meal is not needed given their stock up the cliff. Nonetheless, Yulmiath and Rhogal continue to discuss the pros and cons of hauling the tentacle monster along.
Next, as Kairus descends to collect salvageable crossbow bolts, the rest of the party shares whatever guesses they each might have regarding the nature of the creature with ten tentacles. Hun can only confirm that it is not an octopus, and that he wouldn't be surprised if it was a species quite secluded to this island. Krodhen is unable to arrive at any additional conclusions, so he is forced to agree with Hun's hypotheses. The kobold and half-orc then descend back to the hole Yulmiath had created, intent on taking a look inside what is left of the ***** Queen. (The creature had emerged from within the aft castle.)
Their investigation is methodical and cautious, albeit slow. This is by far the least touched wreck so far, even if the internal area available for exploration is quite small. Crates, desks, and barrels have been tossed all about, likely due to the original crash. chairs, side tables, mugs and cutlery also abound. There are a couple of paintings still nailed to the wall, but you can tell that a feel others have been removed. In fact, a few of the crates and barrels had been opened too, and their contents carried away. The ones that remain only house foodstuffs that have long perished and degraded into nothing. It seems, after all, that although this wreck was not completely gutted, some valuables were indeed removed previously. It is impossible to tell how recently this partial looting has happened.
Krodhen finds a small, partially buried lock-box with its key still placed into the keyhole. Inside, the paladin finds 25gp. Hun recovers a strange piece of taxidermy: a stuffed parrot with a carnelian gemstone replacing one of its eyes. The parrot is likely worthless, but the carnelian is probably worth somewhere around 50gp by itself. Satisfied with how thorough their investigation was, Hun and Krodhen are certain they have recovered the two most valuable items to be found in the aft castle.
(OOC: Let me know if you want to take any of the more mundane items with you too.)
Still skeptical, Kairus nevertheless helped with carrying the body of the beast to the deck (or what could be called like this for now). "To be fair, I am surprised we found something at all." He lovingly brushed his new pendant. "If those sailors moved in on the island, of course, they took everything they could with them. Which one now? Carcerius seems to be the easiest - the third part ought to be around. I saythe way the other two aligned (5), it is somewhere over there?"
Buoyed by his find, Krodhen surfaces with the box held high in one hand "A little reward for our efforts" and proceeds to pull himself up onto the wreck where the others are standing.
Careful not to drop anything he opens the box to count the loot, separating it into 5gp lots and distributing it to each member of the party (add 5gp each)

Those who decided to explore the innards of the shipwreck eventually reemerge with their prizes. Krodhen breaks down his finding into five equal parcels and distributes them (5gp each). Hun can't quite break the gem into five equal portions on the spot, and sees no reason to share his more mundane spoils.
From there, Hun seems to assume the party is ready to call it a day, but the majority wins over and off to the Carcerius they go. Kairus tries to visually pinpoint the location of the third chunk of the former slave ship but, from this distance, has to settle for a wild guess. The swim to the two half-submerged portions of the ship is an quick one.
Now closer to the wreck, and with the aid of the low tide, it is much easier to spot the third portion of the ship, which is completely submerged. The crash must have been a violent one. The separation into three distinct portions makes it so the interior of each of them is quite easily reachable. The aft and the bowsprit portions are the ones which are half-submerged. The center portion of the ship is completely underwater.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Though very grudgingly Hun would follow the others, he had absolutely /no/ intention to take part in any further scavenging operations. Not if he could help it! The Kobold intended fully to put his proverbial foot down after figuring out a means of clamoring atop the aft of the ship by claws, pitons, and a little helping mechanical hand where appropriate for his ascent.
It seemed to matter not if the ascent would leave him in an awkward position, so long as he was well and truly away/out of the water. And if anyone looked up complained, Hun's usually tactful approach (for the most part) in wordplay and leading others towards his more preferred conclusion had been replaced by a curt response of, "You wanna go kissing Beshaba's tits, then by all bloody means. Have your peek around. I'm keeping a look out from up here."
Yulmiath watches Hun trudge of back towards the nearby ship, calling after him:
"If you see that big beastie we were warned about, do the secret signal!"
He then proceeds to demonstrate the signal: jumping up and down on the spot, waving his arms above his head.
"Maybe holler a bit too? We'll be a little ways away and underwater... So uh, maybe you don't need to bother..."
Looking to the others, Yulmiath gets ready to flip his hood up and follow them into the wrecks, "Whichever one we go into, we're going as a group, right?"
He wraps his knuckles against his temple as one might ring a bell.
"Just rest here, Grandpa," Kairus patted kobold on the shoulder, and with visible enjoyment dived back into the water, catching up with Yulmiath. "He is not that wrong, we are kind of spent," told he to the Dragonborn. Kairus's voice easily carried underwater and could be heard probably even above. "But it's barely afternoon and we are already here. So, what do we have here?"
He looked at each part, searching for something particularly standing out as a signal to begin from here.
Even with the goggles, the Kobold's frown in response volumes of what he thought of Yulmiath's suggestion. Yet if there was to be more to add on the subject, the thought flees the mind the moment Kairus patted him on the shoulder. Scowling, Hun spat back crankily after the diving Triton, "Nonono!
