(Well, it looks like we picked the right person for the job, haha. That was unbelievable.)

With one swift movement, Gwen yanks the loose floorboard open. Not only does the one floorboard open but somehow all the loose floorboards fly off revealing a very clear path, to a large opening in the floor. At that open, you see what looks like a safe covering the hole, with a perfect key-sized hole.

"And that, gentlemen" Gwendolyn stands up, wipes her hands off on her robes "is how it is done."  And she hands the crowbar back to Todd.

Jean does a little clap for Gwendolyn, and says "Okay, now who wants to see if that key matches the lock?"

Todd shrugs, "I'll check it out." He will take the key back and stumble his way to the chest. He will stop briefly in front of it and call back to his companions, "Rule #1 - Don't split the party! Rule #2 - Always check for traps!" He looks carefully at the chest for signs of a trap or danger. 

Investigation: 18

Todds sees there is no signs of traps or anything.

"OK! All clear!" He eagerly sticks the key in the lock and turns it.

The door unlocks and reveals a dark winding staircase. You can hear the water a bit better now as well.

"Hey team. You all ever see Alice in Wonderland? I think we found our rabbit hole. This safe is door!" He waves everyone forward. We need a bit more light." He will wait for everyone and then head into the staircase.

Gwen is starting to feel a little affection towards her mismatched band of brothers.  She smiles at whatever “Alice in Wonderland” is, grabs her lighted spoon and joins Todd.  “Who wants to go first down the creepy staircase in the middle of a neutral bar where I am just waiting for one of those creatures to bite my head off.”

“I don’t think I will do well in the lead. I can help from afar if needed and have some small ability in keeping others breathing if need be.” Stefan does turn and close the bookcase door closed behind the group. 

(just curious did the other three come with us?)

"'Little Alice fell down the hole, bumped her head and bruised her soul.' I must confess, my curiosity has been piqued," Jean's eyes glimmer like smouldering coals as he moves up and takes the first couple steps down the winding staircase. He grabs the edge of the floor in front of him and stoops over to get a better look using his darkvision. Then, he slowly and carefully begins his descent, pausing to ensure he is being followed.

“Here Jean, take the spoon” and she hands him the lighted spoon to help illuminate his way.  She follows right behind him, trying to take as much in as possible.

Perception: 19

(I’m not sure what happened, first time I posted, gave my first roll a “not ready yet” type error, so I rolled again.  Hopefully you’ll take my first!)

Todd move slowly down the stairs with the others. "I was in Boston a few years ago. They had this two story escape room. Really complicated but this is alot harder. I mean I was standing right next to the bookcase and never even saw the door! Glad you all are here. I think our chances of getting out are pretty good. I wonder what the record is..." He keeps his eyes peeled looking for any signs of anything that might have passed through here before them.

Investigation: 25

"Thanks," Jean says to Gwendolyn, his confidence bolstered. Accepting the spoon and holding it up to the side so it can provide some more illumination for those in the back, he turns his eyes forward once again, peering down the staircase as he continues deeper.

Perception: 19 

Stefan sighs slightly to himself at Todd’s continuing denial of the reality before him then follows behind the three. “If we are Alice I wonder where the white rabbit is we are meant to be following?”

Gwendolyn can just barely make out that there’s a room not to much further ahead. The room in question does not have much in it at all, as well as no signs of life. Just the steady flow of water, into a small pool of water. Upon a second glance she sees that the water is coming from something higher up, but it’s hard to make out what. 

Todd can already sense that while the room is fairly Barron that there is a book shoved into a wall, and an old tape recorder under the staircase they are all currently descending.

Beck, Parker and Davir who had been trailing a big head towards the staircase with the group. Beck is the only one who makes it onto the staircase before the door abruptly closes behind them. 

Gwendolyn gives a little yelp! when the door to the staircase slams shut above them.  She looks around embarrassed, here she is supposed to be one of the “chosen” and a door makes her scream.  

“Where in the world are we?” She picks up a pebble, casts light on it and throws it into the small pool of water to see if anything is in there.

Todd hearing Gwendolyn's query shrugs, "No idea but I don't think we are in Kansas anymore Toto." He smiles, "But I spy with my eye a book and an old tape recorder." Very proud of himself yet again Todd saunters over to the tape recorder first inspects and then tries to play any tape that might be in it. After that he would go an inspect the book in the wall.  He would point them both out in case anyone else was interested.
