You can all see that there is another staircase leading up to a locked door.
The book is a bible.
When Todd hits the tape recorder it starts to play a single song,
I bought a toothbrush, some toothpaste A flannel for my face Pajamas, a hairbrush New shoes and a case I said to my reflection "Let's get out of this place"
Passed the church and the steeple The laundry on the hill Billboards and the buildings Memories of it still Keep calling and calling But forget it all, I know I will
Tempted by the fruit of another Tempted but the truth is discovered What's been going on Now that you have gone There's no other Tempted by the fruit of another Tempted but the truth is discovered
I'm at the car park, the airport The baggage carousel (The people keep on grindin') Ain't wishing I was well I said it's no occasion (It's no story I could tell)
At my bedside empty pocket A foot without a sock Your body gets much closer I fumble for the clock Alarmed by the seduction I wish that it would stop
Tempted by the fruit of another Tempted but the truth is discovered What's been going on Now that you have gone There's no other Tempted by the fruit of another Tempted but the truth is discovered
I bought a novel, some perfume A fortune all for you But it's not my conscience That hates to be untrue I asked of my reflection Tell me what is there to do?
Tempted by the fruit of another Tempted but the truth is discovered What's been going on Now that you have gone There's no other Tempted by the fruit of another Tempted but the truth is discovered
Tempted by the fruit of another Tempted but the truth is discovered Tempted by the fruit of another Tempted but the truth is discovered
Tempted by the fruit of another Tempted but the truth is discovered
Jean starts nodding his head along, recognizing the song. Quietly, he sings "I'm at the car park, the airport, the hmm hm ba bap ey. The people keep on grinding," Jean shifts into falsetto. "Ain't wishing I was well."
"This one's a classic,"he says, trailing off as the music keeps playing. "I want to say it's by... Squeeze"
“Um what? You’ve heard this before? I understand its a song, but that’s about it. What is this crazy place? Todd, are you checking out that book? I’m wondering where this other staircase is leading to?” Gwendolyn looks around very confused about the whole situation.
Todd is standing in the corner by the cassette player, dancing awkwardly as the song plays. "Oh right, sorry I must have spaced out for a second."Todd blinks a few times andflips through the book looking for markings or any other passages that might be highlighted. He also looks carefully at the back cover to see if there are any hiding spots for more keys. "I don't feel real good about tearing apart a bible...."

Gwen thinks to herself about the last couple minutes and what did Jean say about that song? That it was by something called Squeeze? She tries that in the door.
Jean comes up behind Gwendolyn. "What's this, a seven letter code? What are you... S-Q-U-E... Oh I see, very clever. Good thinking, Gwendolyn." He holds up the spoon to make it easier for her to work.
"Oh shoot, do you think we only have so many tries? I shouldn't have just done one, sorry guys!" She looks a little sheepish. Then thinks back to the song.."Tempted is said a lot or was there anything in that book you found?"
She backs away from the door a bit in case anyone else wants to give it a try.
“It has been quite a while since catechism but the Bible had many passages on temptation. May I take a look Todd?” If Todd hands it over Stefan starts flipping through pages quickly. “There was the bit about the son being tempted in the desert. Where was that? Matthew right?”
Todd shrugs, "I'll be honest I go to church every Sunday with Ma but I don't usually pay much attention... I usually think about something else... Don't tell her...."He happily hands the book over to Stefan as he ponders seven letter words... "There has to be more of a clue here somewhere." He wanders around looking for anything else. "You know the song sings alot about temptation... and fruit... Wasn't that Adam and Eve? I think that was in Genesis which has seven letters... Phil Collins is awesome..."Todd trails off as he walks about rather aimlessly.

"Parker, do you have any ideas on what this code should be? We have Matthew, Tempted, Genesis.... so far as options" Gwendolyn is starting to look a little worried. She DOES NOT want to be trapped down here and starting to feel a bit claustrophobic as well.
"Tempted sounds promising, though I don't know what happens if we get it wrong too many times. Todd, can you use that little machine of yours to learn anything about how the door works? I wouldn't put it past this place to have traps set up. It's giving off a whole vibe, ya' know?"
Seeing that Gwendolyn is starting to look anxious, Jean says to the group, "But why don't I lighten up the mood a bit with some music while we work this out. Hey, Todd, you like Phil Collins? I only know the one song, but here goes." With that, pulls his lute off his back and starts playing and singing an acoustic rendition of "You'll Be In My Heart."
Todd gets his PKE meter out and starts to push the buttons and adjust the knobs and antenna 'casting' detect magic as a ritual "Good idea, let's see what I can pick up here." Hebstarts waving it around looking for abnormalities.
As he works he continues, "Thats a good song but I am partial to 'In the air tonight'" He then starts singing in a voice that is about two keys too high. "I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh lord. And I've been waiting for this moment, for all my life, oh lord. Can you feel it coming in the air tonight, oh lord, oh lord." Then he yells "DRUM SOLO!!!!" As he vigously starts playing the air drums.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As he’s flipping through the Bible looking for clues Stefan unconsciously starts singing along with Jean and then Todd. The Bible closed forgotten in his hand he starts riffing a medley of the two songs.
You can all see that there is another staircase leading up to a locked door.
The book is a bible.
When Todd hits the tape recorder it starts to play a single song,
A flannel for my face
Pajamas, a hairbrush
New shoes and a case
I said to my reflection
"Let's get out of this place"
The laundry on the hill
Billboards and the buildings
Memories of it still
Keep calling and calling
But forget it all, I know I will
Tempted but the truth is discovered
What's been going on
Now that you have gone
There's no other
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
The baggage carousel
(The people keep on grindin')
Ain't wishing I was well
I said it's no occasion
(It's no story I could tell)
A foot without a sock
Your body gets much closer
I fumble for the clock
Alarmed by the seduction
I wish that it would stop
Tempted but the truth is discovered
What's been going on
Now that you have gone
There's no other
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
A fortune all for you
But it's not my conscience
That hates to be untrue
I asked of my reflection
Tell me what is there to do?
Tempted but the truth is discovered
What's been going on
Now that you have gone
There's no other
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
Tempted but the truth is discovered
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered

Stefan moves over peering over Todd’s shoulder. “I have a hunch. Check Revelations chapter six I think.”
Todd looks to the man, "Sure thing boss." He quickly flips through the pages and starts reading out loud.

Todd sees that there is nothing distinct or different about the bible.
Gwendolyn heads over to the other staircase and looks up, casting light on a pebble to help check things out since Jean has my spoon.
You see your at the top above the door there is a code that requires a seven letter word.
The door does not open and a large statue of a demon sitting atop the door eyes light up. You hear a rumbling a low deep voice say. "Incorrect."
"Oh shoot, do you think we only have so many tries? I shouldn't have just done one, sorry guys!" She looks a little sheepish. Then thinks back to the song.."Tempted is said a lot or was there anything in that book you found?"

(Investigation 0 for looking through the Bible for references to temptation to see if anything is marked. )
