Opening the door, the room looks quite clean. Minor traces of dust can be spotted, but it looks like someones been keeping it up. The bed looks half made as if someone has been recently sleeping in it. The chest of drawers looks like it's been in use. The foot locker at the end of the bed seems to be relatively new, compared to the other furnishings seen so far throughout the manor.

Pru moves the Dancing Lights into the four corners of the room to banish any shadows still lingering and approaches the foot locker.
"So, what do we think?" Pru asks the others over her shoulder. "Someone camped out here even after all the gruesome killing stuff happened, or they were responsible for it?"
She then kneels down in front of the foot locker and examines the edges, claps, and the like for any traps.
Perception: 12
If she doesn't think she finds any, she opens the foot locker and takes a look inside.
This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?

"This place is so creepy. Dust, spider, more dust, corpses. Seems like a place a necromancer might like. But, no missing children, no abductor, and no undead either." Beryl sighs and peeks over Pru at the foot locker.
Aranor follows the others into the room. As Pru examines the footlocker, he walks over to the chest of drawers that looks like it's been in use. He opens the drawers, looking for anything interesting or that might be useful.
"Could be whoever is responsible. This could be a hideout for them. In which case, it's possible they might return."
Searching the room, it does look like it's been recently used. There's a faint smell of something sweet like a fruit or perfume. You're just not sure how soon or whom/what occupied the room. You come across 70sp, a Silver tipped dagger +2 and a Scroll of Infernal Language.

Unless I've lost track, their treasure found so far includes:
22cp 82gp Potion w/ silver top +2 silver tipped dagger Scroll - Infernal language (does that mean the scroll is in infernal and will need someone who knows the language to understand what it says?)
Pru twirls the silver tipped dagger in her hands, marveling at the balance of it.
"That could hurt someone nicely," Pru says as she slips the coins into the bag with the rest of what they'd found earlier. She looks at the scroll for a moment, unsure what to make of it.
"thats the point of weapons is it not? hand it here" kaladin held out his hand for the scroll interestedly

Pru looks up at Aranor.
"What ever made those claw marks on the floor out there," Pru says, nodding to the hallway, "may be back, and an extra pointing dagger will come in handy. I'm happy to hang on to it unless someone else can make better use of it."
She jumps up, pirouettes once, then again before heading back into the hallway and to the remaining door.
Pru listens for any sounds, not expecting to hear any at this point, and if she doesn't hear any she opens the door, waves in the Dancing Lights and takes a look inside.
The room is fairly large. A large king size style bed sits on the far wall below a massive window. It looks like the other bed, but more recently used. To the right of the room is a fairly large fireplace. A small enclave with bookshelves and two two chairs sits to the right of the fireplace. There are a few books on the bedside table. A cloak lays across the foot of the bed. It's almost like you've seen it before. Seems all traces of spiderwebs and dust have been cleared from this room.
Pru sways into the room, eyes narrowing at the site of the cloak but she veers to the bedside table and starts flipping through the books, checking out the subject matter and looking for any notations or marked passages.
Beryl steps into the room, glances around, and spies the cloak. She moves to the foot of the bed to inspect it. and what might be in its folds or underneath it.

Aranor nods at Pru. "That's a sensible attitude. Its size is better suited for you as well," the high elf notes loftily.
With that he follows the others into the next room and notes that the room seems to have been used fairly recently. He walks over to the fireplace and inspects it. Maybe someone tried burning something in the hearth or perhaps there is something on the mantel.

The two books are journals. One is black leather bound and the other is brown leather bound. The name of Yvonne is scrawled on the inside of the brown journal and the name Elise is scrawled in the black one. Pru starts to read aloud...
From Yvonnes Journal:
The pact that we made with Zaethrezu, though it gave us un-fathomed charisma, is starting to take it's toll on me. I am not sure i can take much more, despite the power and prestige it has brought us. The worst part are the sacrifices. In the beginning it was fine. Hiding the bodies in the cellar until it was time was easy. Everyone being drunk, they assumed the missing fell off the cliff into the river below. In some instances, they did. But for the last few years, I can't get their faces from out of my head. Two sacrifices a year has become a bit much. Jasper, my dear husband seems to be taken with more and more powers. The look in his eyes at our daughter Janeka nerves me. He has become very cold and calculating, even to us. He snaps at the slightest inkling. I fear that he may do her harm before long.
I feel that I must remove her from this. This life is no life for a child, much less a new born. Faking her death maybe the only way. Both Yala and Chester have my ear. They see the same thing as I. They are willing to take Janeka away to safety.
The visions haven't gotten better. I still can't get a better view of the person.I know it's a woman, but who, I do not know. But they stand, surrounded by fire. The entire world seems to be burning. Around her are dead bodies. But they walk and move like they're alive. It wakes me in the night in cold sweats.
They did it. Yala and Chester have taken Janeka. They did not tell me where, as this what we agreed on. I can honestly say with truth in my heart, that I do not know where our daughter is. Jasper is livid. He has turned the manor inside and out looking for clues. I know he knows I did it, but he can't prove it. Yet.
From Elise's journal:
I am grateful for the upbringing by the druidic clan. But they just can't seem to understand me. There is more demons in my head than i have read about in books. They still haven't told me anything about my mom, where she came from, who her parents were. Just the fact that she took her life as soon as I was born. There is something more there and I need to know.
Knowing my mother may hold the key to the visions I've started having. Maybe she could explain why I prefer to spend my time in the cemeteries than with other people. Why I seem to be able to understand the dead more than those that are alive.
During my 16th year, Bryrona gave me my grandmothers journal. From what she aid, when my mother came to them, it was the only thing with her. My grandparents were monsters. Yet i feel so closely drawn to them.
The more i read her journal, the more I understand them. The more I feel like she is with me. I have began to practice the same magick. It feels odd, but wonderful.
I have expanded on my magicks. Bryrona doesn't like it. She has called me reckless and immature. She has forbid me the knowledge of death magick, but I will learn it one way or another. Mixing the ways of the druid with that of the warlock have had unseen circumstances.
I have left the clan. I am more powerful than any of them. But I want more. I need more. I have a feeling that i can do that if I can find Yvonne's works. So i head back to where I came from.
I have found the ritual room from Yvonne's journal. it doesn't look like anything she described. I still haven't found what i'm looking for but I will. I have been playing with the locals. The local scoundrel are the easiest. Their greed out ways their ability to survive.
As Aranor searches the fireplace, he comes across a small keyhole on the side of the stonework. Kaladin starts flipping through books and comes across a small silver toned key inside of one. Looking at the text, it seems to be a book of magick, but not in a language that can be read.
Beryl picks up the cloak and starts going over it. She seems to recognize it but can't quite place her finger on it.
Pru moves the Dancing Lights into the four corners of the room to banish any shadows still lingering and approaches the foot locker.

Beryl glances at the scroll, but the writing is nothing she's ever seen before. "No, not familiar to me."
OOC: The scroll will teach it's reader the Infernal Language for 24hrs. It will take about an 4 hours of uninterrupted reading to gain it's affects.

Pru’s nose scrunches up and frown lines deepen on her forehead when she finishes reading.
”Seems to confirm there’s some dark necromancy about here,” Pru says .”But it doesn‘t lead us to the kids. Why don’t you try the key in the lock?”
Pru slips the journals in her pack and moves over to look at the cloak as well.
Vaguely familiar? Hmm. The father and daughter on the road?
