Zensiro listens attentively to Cerlinde and Zithers as they explain the situation and the plan. "Zithers and Dyumi, pleased to make your acquaintances as well. I'm happy to lend my longbow to the ranged assault. If necessary, my scimitar can handle any up close scraps. I think the plan as you two have laid out is sensible and with our party's magic, your various patrons watching over us, and this ointment, I'd give us a fighting chance. Have we surveilled the nest to come up with a strategy?"
(Did Zensiro notice the two spiders? Passive Perception is 20 - Observant feat)
“No strategy yet. I guess that’s why you are here! I can shoot fire bolts. I’ll try to not burn the place down. I know I’ve gotten a reputation from that kobold forest fire on the wilderness patrol but that was a desperate act.” Cerlinde finishes her map for the moment and deftly tucks it away- the quill simply vanishes from her hand. She smiles, (if she sees the spiders, her smile vanishes)
Amelia did not, in fact, leave. She is suffering neither anxiety (she's experienced far worse than this) nor stomach flu (the germs are all too big right now). She is simply quiet in general, and has little to add.
She turns to Malichi. "Good to see a familiar face," she remarks. "There are few in Haven."
If you haven't met Amelia before, she's a slender half-elven woman with what seems to be a grayscale color scheme--pale skin, black eyes and hair, and dark leather armor. She speaks with what Faerun natives will identify as a Heartlands accent.
(The webby side tunnel is only wide enough for two abreast, so the party should determine a marching order, light sources for anyone that doesn't have darkvision or wants to see further than darkvision permits, and any active skills you might be employing. If nobody explicitly states, for example, "I'm looking behind us every 6 seconds" then I'll assume nobody is.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zensiro looks around at his fellow adventurers and seeing a number of rogues and casters, volunteers, "I suppose I should take the lead, then. I should be able to spot any incoming danger. I believe everyone but Dyumi can see fine in the dark, so perhaps we hold off on torches until we're sure we've been spotted? Whoever's in the back, please keep an eye out for anyone following us. And Cerlinde, as long as we're not trapped in the webbing, I imagine the fire you and Zithers wield should do nicely against these beasts!" After the rest of the party arranges itself, Zensiro will adjust the hood of his cloak and proceed as stealthily as he is able to while continuously monitoring for spidery visitors and other items of interest. He draws his two daggers, ready to throw them at any threats that pop up.
Malichi looks back randomly as he crouches perpendicular to the path, looking up and down the tunnel rapidly, darts to catch up with others, zigzagging a bit from one side of the tunnel as he goes. He tries to be unpredictable as he possibly can.
This passage of packed earth and rock is roughly circular and 9 or 10 feet in diameter. As you enter the darkness, which to you appears as dim light, you note that the further you go, the more of the sticky webbing there is on the walls. Occasionally a faint echo floats down the passage, of chittering or scraping. Once something that sounds like a squeal of pain causes you to draw up sharply.
Malichi detects no movement behind, but he does note that the thick web strands on the ceiling of the tunnel could be concealing cavities or trap-doors.
Zensiro in the lead moves cautiously, at half-normal speed, his senses on high alert, expecting trouble. Suddenly, he signals to stop. Something about the webbing covering the floor up ahead doesn't seem right, but without more light he cannot be sure what it is.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zensiro halts abruptly and silently raises his hand, signalling to the party that there is something worth investigating further. He turns and moves closer to the group, whispering, "It certainly seems that we're getting close, based on the noises and thickening of the webs. I've spied something suspicious about the webs on the floor a little further up the passage, but I'm afraid my darkvision isn't sufficient to discern what is going on. I have a candle I can light, if the party thinks that would be safe. Malichi, what have you seen to the rear? Anyone else? Do you think it seems safe to shed a little light? I'm sure Dyumi wouldn't mind."
(If the party thinks it's safe, Zensiro will light the candle and Investigate. If not, perhaps he will Investigate at disadvantage? Rolling w/disadvantage, just use the first dice if it's normal.)
The ranger lights a small candle, and by its flickering light cautiously crawls forward examining the floor. The webbing on the floor is surprisingly not sticky. Zensiro halts after a few feet, realizing that while the webbing continues straight ahead, the rock surface beneath drops away. There seems to be a pit or chasm bisecting the tunnel; to cross over, one could try to walk across as on a rope bridge, but Zensiro is unable to determine how much weight, if any, the lattice of silk would support. Investigating further, there also seems to be gaps in the walls on either side of the pit, but as far as he is able to determine, the elf believes the ceiling to be continuous and unbroken. A faint, fetid odor, as if from a distant sewer, wafts up from the gap in the floor.
Right on cue after Malichi's call, six large centipedes, each the size of two treasure chests end-to-end, pop through the silk strands of the ceiling over the heads of the rearward party members and scurry down the walls towards them.
(As before, we will not be rolling initiative, just post your actions for the first round as if it were all happening simultaneously.
C1 and C2 nearest the front of the party, C3 and C4 near the middle, and C5 and C6 the most rearward.)
"Centipedes! Watch the jaws, they're nasty!", calls out Zensiro. Judging that there are too many to scare off with torch light, he throws a dagger at C2, then draws his scimitar and slashes at C1, hoping to drive them off.
Bonus Action - Two Weapon Fighting Dagger - attack vs. C2: 12, damage (piercing): 2
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Malichi leaps away from C6, rolls in mid-air, doing a shoulder roll when he hits the ground and comes up on his feet, facing the group, a good distance back. He looks to see which of the two rearward centipeds is closest to another party members. It looks to him like it's C5 so he fires at that one. Even before the arrow hits, Malichi is already reaching for the next arrow.

As he sees them crawl out of the ceiling, Zithers is disgusted. "ew Ew EW! These cursed creatures get even grosser when you can see them up close!"
(Zithers is near the front, by the way) with C1 and C2 seemingly busy for now, Zithers will aim his crossbow at C6. (it would seem that in a typo, C2 was mentioned twice, but there are still 6 centipedes from what ive read; he will shoot at the farthest one from him)

Cerlinde agrees to the plan and follows along- her firebolt hand at the ready..
(No need to welcome me back, I never left. I've just been quiet.)
Amelia nods and readies her shortswords.
"I'll bring up the rear and keep an eye out behind us" Malichi volunteers, pulling up his hood, drawing his shortbow and nocking an arrow
