"Wow now, everything is ok, your safe for the moment."
Viktor takes Ursals hands from Pyra
"This is Pyra, she just restored you from stone. she is here to help use in resolving the troubles we are here to overcome"
Viktor then explains everything that has happened since the fight, starting with Ursal's being turned to stone, the Medusa escaping, travelling to the Chieftains stronghold the next morning, travelling back with Pyra and Soren (introducing Soren), and finally Pyra restoring Ursal.
"...and so here we are. we don't know what the monster was after, we have more questions to ask and clues to look for, but we thought getting you back on your feet was more important"
He looks over to Pyra and kneels on one knee. "And you, my lady, you have my eternal gratitude. I have not had much use for gods, but seeing the results of your divine power and hearing of the deeds of the Gunuulf's makes me think twice. You must tell me more about this Aegir."
OOC: Ursal will make it a point to make a pilgrimage to the temple that hosted Pyra and make a donation of some sort. Or if that's not possible, he will ask Soren to take back a donation on his behalf.

The blue tiefling lets out a small chuckle, before squatting down to Ursal's level.
"Thank you, sir. I must be honest with you and admit I am not one for gods either. They can be helpful yes, but you will come to find that I am one who prefers more natural remedies. Speaking of which how are you faring?" Pyra asks as she pulls out her journal and a small quill pen from her side pack. She quickly jots down some information about Ursal before continuing her questions. Her forked tail flicks back and forth in the air, looking almost like a cat that has found an interesting toy to play with.
"Do you feel ill or dizzy? Tired? Hungry? Are you missing anything from your person? Never know what might have been chipped away while you were stone.Or what could have been added. Oh! Will you allow me to do a full examination later? And I would like to examine the rest of you as well, in case something happens and I need some sort of records for you."
Viktor gives Ursal a nod for his words of gratitude.
when Pyra mentions that she would like to "examine" everyone later, a smile comes to Viktors face and he opens his mouth to say something, before thinking better of it and closing it.
"so, where should we start? I think it might be a good idea if we searched around inside and outside the barn for any clues as to where the monster came from, and where it went when it fled."
"also I think we need to get more information on this situation. like what happened in any other attacks, maybe. what do you all think, any suggestions?"
Ursal does a cursory check of himself and his equipment.
"Nothing appears to be missing. I don't feel dizzy, just a bit confused and tired."
He is about to walk away and join Viktor in his search when he turns and scratches his head.
"There is something strange I recall. It wasn't really a dream but I seem to remember seeing an epic battle play out in my head while I was turned to stone. There were angels and monsters fighting over some relic - a stone of some kind that was cleaved in two after a great battle with losses on both sides. I think that thing...that creature with the snake heads was there. I could feel it writhing just beyond reach of my mind in the dark oblivion of my petrification. Just as you were casting your spell to free me, a great snake appeared to strike me, then I woke up here."
He paused to gauge the reaction of his companions.
"I said I don't put much stock in gods, but angels are another thing." He looks to Krayne in acknowledgement of his ancestry then back to Pyra.

Krayne smiles at the reference to angels "You'd be right to have faith in angels, I hope you'll find their servants to be as steadfast". He grasps Ursal by both shoulders "I know we haven't traveled together for long but it is good to see you returned to us, as we take our vengeance on the medusa my sword will ever be at your side".
Krayne turns to the others "I am no great thinker, my skills in strategy lie mostly in combat but I think Ursal may have given us something important. I don't know what it all means - I will pray for insight but I have found that messages are rarely clear. Unless the story makes more sense to any of you I suggest we start with Viktor's suggestion and check the surrounding area and talk about the other attacks, maybe look at those areas too.."
"We moved them back inside. Our father...he put them out here," Brida explains leading the party back into the farmhouse. "I can't think of what that...thing was trying to find," she explains. "Like Baltus says it was merely the wand that we found use of," she adds.
Soren nods at Ursal but doesn't really add anything to the exchange. She looks like she's measuring up the group and sticking close to Pyra's side.
Leading the party back into the farmhouse Brida goes to a chest beside the fireplace and reopens in.
"Anyone is welcome to look," Brida begins pulling out ceremonial robes from Aegir, some other dresses, and a cloak made of heavy blue dyed wool.

Now that Ursal has had some time to process what has happened, he says:
"We need to learn more about what that thing was. It's no monster I've ever seen. It looked like a medusa but it had wargs. Wargs usually serve goblins but that was no goblin. You said it used magic too."
Ursal scratches his head. "I'm a hunter so I'd like to see those wargs. Then I'd like to see their tracks. Maybe we can track the wargs or that creature."
Ooc: After we learn what we can from the items in the chest, investigation on the warg corpses then survival to track them.

Pyra keeps her thoughts mostly to herself. She hangs around Ursal to keep an eye on him in case any negative effect of being turned to stone pops up.
She has no interest in the dresses but will take a look at the ceremonial robes and the heavy blue cloak to see if they are special or magical in any way.
"These robes seem a little fancy. Was your mother a follower of Aegir?" Pyra asks the twins.
Viktor finishes examining the content of the chest and stands back up
"well, I don't see anything unusual"
Viktor rubs his chin thoughtfully
"I believe the reason for the continued attacks here, on this farm, is that the medusa believe that something she desires is here somewhere. and considering that she was going through your mothers chest, there is good reason to believe that she believes your mother had what she is looking for"
Viktor turns to Ursal
"I'm sorry to tell you Ursal, but the beasts have been disposed of"
Viktor frowns at Bultas
"you will have to be content with any tracks they left behind when they arrived"

Ooc: does any one else have survival proficiency because of so I can roll at advantage. Here is ab excerpt of my ability; it might not cover all our bases:
You have advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks to track Fey, Fiends, and Undead, as well as on Intelligence checks to recall information about them. If you are actively tracking one of these creature types, you cannot be surprised by any creatures of that type. You can only be tracking one type of creature at a time.

Ursal leads his companions outside and attempts to find tracks from something other than the party.
Survival at advantage: 20

"If you are going to stay here there is a task I would ask of you" Krayne says to Brida, "There have been a number of attacks I believe, could you draw a map and show us where they were? I agree with Viktor and Ursal that we should try and track them but if that doesn't work out then knowing where else they have been might be useful." Turning back to the others in the party he continues "If we cannot find any sign then maybe it is better to spend the night here, the creature has tried the barn, if they believe it is still here they could be in danger, and it may be the only chance we have to catch a fresher trail." Lastly he turns to Baltus, "Farmboy, although you clearly have some strength I think it is better that you stay here and guard the others, if the five of us cannot handle anything we find a sixth will probably not make much difference but you might if they come back while we are away."

"If we cannot find tracks, then I agree, we need to set snares for the creature - one that will quickly capture it with surprise and prevent it from using its powers to stone us."
He then turns to Brida. "Bring several blankets to me, if you please."
He turns to Viktor. "Viktor, perhaps you and I can use the blankets to snare the creature then knock it out. The blankets would work better if we had nets to weight them. Sew a rock into each corner of the blanket, then sew a net into the blanket to give it structure."
He turns to Baltus. "We will need bait." He pauses, then puts a comforting arm on Baltus' shoulder. "It should be the wand, and by all accounts, you have shown that you can wield it powerfully. In order for this plan to work, I think you should stand underneath the net but be blindfolded or otherwise protected from the gaze of the creature. It will have to engage you one on one, and when it does, one of us best at hiding can spring the trap, and the rest of us best at subduing the creature can beat it into unconsciousness. To avoid hitting you, after the trap is sprung, you should try crawling out from under the net quickly. At that point, we should have a rope handy to wrap up the creature so it can't use its magic to escape."
He turns to regard each of his companions to determine their level of acceptance of this idea and plan. Ursal grinds his jaw in determination to show his companions that after his harrowing experience of petrification, failure is not an option.
"Or... we could just chop the medusa up into little pieces when it tries to take the wand and if Farmboy gets turned to stone then so be it." He smiles at Baltus much as a wolf would at a rabbit and after pausing for a few moments adds "Don't worry, I'm only teasing you - I do worry the plan is a little complicated though." Turning to Ursal he adds "Battles move quickly and the medusa proved that it could attack powerfully from distance and in close combat, if it chooses to stay away until we are all stone and then walk in and take the wand we will not be able to spring the trap."
He looks around the farmhouse "To our advantage the small size of the building means it can't bring many reinforcements to bear. If we can avoid the gaze we should be able to subdue it, some sort of sack to put over it's head might be manageable? The ability to disappear still concerns me though, we don't know how it was done last time, invisibility or teleportation, or something different. We could prevent the first but probably not the second unless it needs to see where it is going."
"But just as importantly, what do we want to do with it? Interrogating a creature that can turn you to stone is going to be difficult and it must know that we can't spare it afterwards so it has no reason to cooperate, does anyone have a way of forcing it to speak the truth? I do not."
