Please do not push the story without the reason and actions from DM.
What is the point of this "go to inn and rest". My character still did not get resolution of his actions from DM and now out of nowhere you moved whole group to the doors of the inn
We as players play this together but our characters are not a team yet.
Ehh we had a nice hook for adventure in the temple. With this "strange waterworld visitor" but non investigate it.
Now we have a paradox that my character still try to say "hello" to the cleric, Ayoola talks to Gris as he would be after that conversation and part of the group is already in the inn.
Birdcopp, you're still free to not be at the Respite. I specifically set up the post with Marigold's welcome so that it would work regardless of how many of you were actually there. If you want, you could have just not followed the others and still be at the temple.
I am waiting for the DM. Believe me, if I didn't want to wait I'd have done a lot more than I have so far. All I've done to this point is establish one location in the starting town, which has the DM has allowed me to do, and now I'm using it as a waiting place until he can start moving the story forward more.
I honestly don't mind that way but from what little I know, It seemed to me that it would be much easier on everyone if we were all together before the plot started picking up. Hence why I was in such a rush to get everyone into one group instead of being all over the place.
EDIT: Story-wise, is it possible that we left the temple after you had your talk with the cleric?
Honestly, I was having a similar dilemma. Nothing seemed to be happening at the tavern, so I went to the temple. The story kind of advanced at the temple, but then it peetered out. Well, now I am at the inn so that if we are all together, maybe the DM can bring the story to us without 'railroading' us into it. Or maybe he can give it to you to relay to your friends at the inn? There are still possibilities to get this 'back on track.'
Well, as ZulkRS suggested, we can still play that out and just say you guys came to the Respite afterwards. A family-style meal at a halfling run establishment doesn't exactly end quickly. And if the scene plays out in such a way that prevents you guys from coming to the Respite, I don't mind retconning.
It is not a problem but please in your daily post find space for describing in few sentences outcomes of everyone move. Add some background and time stamp like morning, evening, next day, next etc.
I think that we as players should also agree to post as often as DM (with some exceptions for conversations between characters).
We could keep it a little like in the "battle" mode:
-characters can speek with more or less no limit
-one "big" action/decision per post "turn"
-DM stars the next round of posting
Adventure will move slow but that is the right of PBP;)
OKAY! As i do not like to be the grumpy player ;) that destroys the fun lets assume that:
As Gris "cover spell" started to disappear, Gris and Adoy decided to rush after the group to the Inn.
" We will speek with the clerics next time, I hope they have a barn near this inn. I hate that woodAndSoft sleeping things"
As they enter the Inn, Gris turns back to "full" Firbolg. "Ahh well i would not hide it for eternity. Yes i am Firbolg not a Human"
Just when other players tried to ask "what da hell" the unknown gentelmen with mission shows up.
DM and Players are we good with this? I decided to post here to keep the "time of events" cleen in the main thread
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
I still haven't figured out the more advanced functions of it but I know that if you hit the dice roller button it will produce a bit of script that will look like this 9 but without the spaces. that's just a regular d20 nothing added, you can tell it to add something as a modifier under "add to result". and that's as much as ive done with it so far, looks like you can add advantage or disadvantage and tell it to drop the lowest or highest on that first tab. but just to roll a d20 just hit the button then hit ok and you will get that little script, don't edit it or do anything else to it, when you make your post the forum will recognise that script and replace it with the roll results. I hope that helps, If someone can explain it better that would probably be a big help to me as well.
I hope I did those dice rolls properly. please let me know if I need to do that differently.

Ah sorry. I was in too much of a rush to have the party stick together. I'm still new to all this so...
It won't happen again.

But why we are not waiting for DM to well..DMing?

I do not have problem with your inn/place. It adds nice flavor to the ingame world.
I just wish we couls do it the "old" way.
DM describes the scene, players describe their moves, DM describes outcomes...

I was still kinda waiting for the temple scene to play out, I feel like out dm had something developing there.

Sorry everyone, but I will only be able to make posts about once a day.

That sounds like a good system to me.
Could someone please explain to me how to use the dice roller?

ok I guess you can put spaces in after all. that script will look like this {roll}1d20{/roll} but replace { } with [ ].
