Dageron, a look of outrage on his face, casts Guidance on himself. He then leans down until he is eye to eye with the goose. In an eerily calm but somehow terrifying voice he says, "We are on a mission and you are jeopardizing it. Do it again, and I will eat you."
As they are walking through the hall ways, Jek sees an Aarakocra walking the other direction. He will stop it and say "Ahh, Hi. I'm sorry about earlier. I mean, the door was ajar, I thought I could go in. And, well, yea, sorry. Umm, probably should make sure your door is closed next time you take a bath. Okay, bye!"
As they listen to Krille, Jek nods along, following most of it.... Some of it. "I think I've heard of Atlantis, but... What is the Mistytomb Hamlet? Where is it, is it in Celestia? Or... Oh Wait a moment, something is happening?"
Jek goes off to a corner and holds the AUYRN up to his ear... then realizes that isn't necessary and holds it in front of him. "Okay, word from Greko the Green. They saved a tree? A Great Deku Tree. And apparently the tree knows where the Triforce of Wisdom is! ... How does a tree talk? ... They are going after it before... Oh Ganondorf is after it too. Oh no. If he has the Triforce of Wisdom, that means the only one left is the Triforce of Courage. We need to get it before he does. He has the Sacred Stones and he might have a ... Ocarina? of Time? What the heck is an Ocarina? Umm okay, we need to focus and ...."
Jek turns back around and sees the scene playing out before him. "and.... I was turned around for 2 minutes. "
The Aarakocra looks about as embarrased as a bird can be as Jek speaks to them in passing, and calls him a 'pervert' in a feminine-ish tone of voice as she flees from his presence.
Krille nods at Amitola before jumping when the goose grabs him by the tailfeathers. He turns in time to see Dageron lean in to intimidate Darla...and then Darla whirls about on the Hobgoblin and raises both wings, hissing furiously like she doesn't given a single F who Dageron is or thinks he is.
Krille watches this fascinated...but backs away where his tailfeathers are no longer in danger of the goose.
"The Hamlet is in Eternia. In the Faron Woods, I believe. This news of the Great Deku Tree is most wonderful, though. Your friend Greko and they, whoever they are, must be great heroes. It surprises me to learn that the Great Deku Tree knows where the Triforce of Wisdom is. It was my belief that only the Hyrule Royal Family knew. It is troubling, though, that he now has the Sacred Stones as well. And if he has the Ocarina...then perhaps he has capture the royals. This could be quite bad, my friends. Quite bad indeed."
“It’s a ******* tarrasque.” Shirin says bluntly from behind, stopping and seeming to come to a sudden realization. “The creature in the mural. It’s a tarrasque. A legendary monster of immense power and fury. I’d read about it briefly before during my training.”
The Aarakocra looks about as embarrased as a bird can be as Jek speaks to them in passing, and calls him a 'pervert' in a feminine-ish tone of voice as she flees from his presence.
Jek tilts his head in confusion. He mumbles to himself "Were they a female? Hmm, but they are completely covered in feathers. I couldn't even tell. I can't even tell the difference between the females and males, they look the same. Maybe I should ask someone about that? Hmm"
Jek pipes up at the mention of Eternia "Oh, I've heard stories of Eternia and King Randor. They are supposed to be very strong people there. Dageron would probably like them, they are supposed to be strong warriors, not as soft as me hahaha. But... I don't think we have time to go down to Eternia and back up here, unless you have a very fast transport, Krille. Actually, how do we even get down from Celestia if it's floating?"
Jek turns to Shirin "Ohh... It's a tarrasque...... What's a tarrasque? Is it scarier than Vader? Is there a book about them? "
"My people tell stories of how our kind saved the world from such a beast, long ago. The soft races will never know of the great debt they owe. In the stories told, in the days before steel, some of our first legions lived in vast underground citadel cities, and warred with equally vast empires of Dwarves, Deep Gnomes, and Drow. During one such war, a terrible rift sundered the ancient Drow city of Zerrefteranzen, known then as the City of Nether Lights. From the depth came a monster of immense scale and impervious to harm. Over the next several months, millions died fighting it. Whole empires were decimated. Finally, the beast's rampage brought it to the Abyssal Black, an ocean in an endless cavern said to connect with other planes. It was a sorcerer king, the last ruler of the surviving Hobgoblins, who opened a Gate beneath the waters, creating a whirlpool that sucked the beast in. Delivering it to the most vile plane of existence known." He pauses, a look of concentration upon his face. "If we truly face such a beast, we must be equally cunning. I agree with Jek's notion wholeheartedly, we should find a way to turn it loose in the midst of Vader's forces."
Krille listened to all this and looked troubled. Shirrin's revelation, then Jek's observerations and questions. Then he listened patiently to Dageron's story, and nods.
"I hope there isn't another one down there, in what we now call the Subhylian Sea. I wonder if this is the same one, perhaps risen later or...I don't know. As for getting you all down, Jek Utinni, that is easy. We shall send for a Roc, or a Death Hawk."
Krille thinks for a moment, a feathered hand rubbing a beaked chin.
"Do you have allies in your quest, Jek Utinni? I believe I have been told something about this, perhaps from the Riders, but I don't remember. Much on my mind, I'm afraid. Is there anyone you can send a message to? Sending? A raven? Someone who is familiar with the college? Or who is near Mistytomb Hamlet?"
Jek looks at Krille. Everyone is so far away, how are they supposed to send a message quickly...... Jek smacks himself of the forehead. He will take a step away and hold the AUYRN and stare at it for a few minutes.
"Okay, message sent, lets see if we hear back. Hopefully someone knows something.... Now a question. What is a Roc and Death Hawk? Are they friendly? Oh, do you have tomes or scrolls on spells? I have an idea for something, but I might want to do some research on it. It might help us be sneakier! Which, honestly, could be quite useful soon."
Shirin nods in agreeance, "No doubt this is a deadly creature, one which can easily destroy armies and cities. If we are to release it, we need to have an infallible plan to deal with it. Moving it to another plane seems like an effective concept, though I'm not aware of anyone alive with the skill or power to perform something like that."
Krille holds up a finger as if to say 'wait a moment' and then steps away, coming back a minute later with a couple of parchment scrolls. He rolls them out on a table near the party, one showing a large hawk, much like the ones that the riders, and Amitola, had been on when they arrived to where the Order of the Phoenix had appeared the day before. The other showed an enormous bird, with a wingspan hundreds of feet across, carrying a wooden carriage beneath its breast.
"The people of Skyloft tamed the Death Hawks many generations ago, once the island took to the sky." Krille said, running feathered fingers over the drawing of the hawk. "They were originally used to get up and down from the island, but eventually we taught them to act as our defenders as well. We ride them now, especially those of us who do not fly by the blessing of the Goddesses."
Krille flexed his wings.
"It was the Goliath's who tamed the Rocs, though. With the distances between Hyboria's mountain ranges, it was the most practical way for the small tribes to mingle. To trade. And then, eventually, to come here. And that's how we got them."
The Aarakocra folded his wings away and looked then to Jek.
As Krille says his name he will softly say under his breath "UTINNI!"
To answer his question "Uhh, I'm not sure. So, my magic comes from within me. I've never tried to do anything, it is just comes naturally, I just know how to do it. I want to see if I can get my shadows to do something new. Something I have an idea for but don't know how to do. What I would like to do is make it harder for people to see us, enveloping the shadows around us. So... I mean I don't know if you would have something, but this is the biggest library I've ever seen.... Also the second library I've ever seen. Maybe a scroll or book on shadow magic, manipulating shadows, something like that."
As Shirin speaks, Jek just stares for a minute. "So... that's bad. Really bad. Okay, okay, okay. Ummm..... I contacted the other bands to ask if they know anything that can help. So.... Krille, do you know of anyone who can open a gate or move things to another plane? What about everyone else, what do you all think? Dageron, Hothgar, Slade, Brev.... Cough cough. What do you all think we should do? It seems like we need to be very prepared for this adventure. "
Slade scratches his head under his hat causing a silver fork to slip out, which he quickly shoves back into place.
Well, I don't know much about scrolls and outside magic meself, me magic comes from me fey blood. Any excuse to avoid pokin a beastie such as that tarrasque would be fine in me book. I won't be needing much in the way of help ta sneak past the beast less it has a better snout then most. As fer sending it at Vader... I wouldn't put it past the wheezy bastard to turn it into a lapdog and send it right back at us. Might be the best thing to send it elsewhere entirely. Me magic is more for tricks o the eye and mind but I'll do what I can to help ye find a way to turn yer shadows to use.
"The library is open to you if you'd like to look. The librarian, Qiwut, will know more about what we have in there. I recommend you talk to her. As for sending the Guardian somewhere else...I think if it was possible it would have been done long ago instead of burying it in the Crater."
Dageron looks at their host, and guessing at the response he will receive, asks flatly, "Can your people not resurrect the Childlike Empress? Is she not capable of creating a portal that could transport the beast, such as in my people's history? This is no time for spiritualistic objections now, if she can do it then we can kill her again once it is done, if she so wishes."
Jek looks to Dageron, then to Krille. "Is it possible, could you bring her back? But... Cairon and the Childlike Empress had to work together to open the portal to get us here. And look how much trouble they had. We had to fight off Vader just to give them a chance. It seems like it would be very difficult to do."
If there is is a way for an Owl to look sad, it appears on Krille's face.
"Resurrection is...hard." Krille said to Dageron in such a manner as to sound like he was sharing some great secret with the group. "It's not always as easy as just...wishing someone back. There are Clerics who can do it, but a soul has weight, and sometimes an obligation to the goddesses or other cosmic forces. Those outside beings aren't always keen to let a soul return to this world. Usually, when they do, it's on a time limit, and only for special circumstances, and it takes some convincing and almost always comes with a cost. However, if you decide you wish to pursue this course of action, we shall assist you in finding someone who can help. Whether she would be capable, and whether there are spiritualistic conflicts with this course of action, is a different matter."
Shirin ponders the information, then responds, "Let us then visit this library and see what it has to offer before we attempt to make a deal with a god and shake the Empress from her eternal rest."
Jek nods to Shirin, then stops and looks at the AURYN.
"Hang on. I'm getting a reply from.... Actually, no idea who, but they must be friends if they can use the AURYN. Okay, here's what they said.
Courage waits long hidden deep Guardian slumbers now and sleeps Beneath the whirlpool Atlantis' Bane Waits silent for Division's reign.
Stars blue and lit on horizon's edge A watery grave for Atlantis, tis said Hyboria weakens, slow and groaning Three shards apart and all atoning.
Let not the Empress lie there cold Last light of the world afore it grows old Weak and mourning, like Atlantis gone Chaos won't rest, but marches on. "
Jek looks to the others. "Oh, hang on, let me reply." Jek will then look intently at the AURYN for a few moments. "Okay, now, What the heck does that mean? "
Dageron looks Krille in the eyes. "The world is going to end if you don't. So you might as well do it."
When Jek tells the riddle, Dageron looks at him with puzzlement. "Can't you just ask the voice to identify themselves and explain their meaning? How do we know another AURYN bearer hasn't been taken captive and forced to mislead us? You shouldn't trust just anyone talking through that thing... However, the riddle seems pretty straightforward. The Triforce of Courage is in some deep place - we know where - by it is the monster that destroyed Atlantis and it is waiting to be awaken so that it can join in this age of chaos which, according to The Sorceress, has been foretold for some time now. The three parts of the Triforce had something to do with the destruction of Atlantis, and were probably one piece that was broken up into the three, and so now this chaos is part of their atonement. Not sure how or why objects could atone - perhaps they are intelligent items? We shouldn't let the Empress stay dead - as I suspected - as she is part of the last line of defense for this otherwise doomed world. The last part is a bit strange to me... calling Atlantis weak implies it still exists, but perhaps it is meant in reference to the memory of Atlantis? The last line refers to the myriad of forces arrayed to seize power during this age of war."

(( That's a 30 to intimidate Darla into behaving. ))
