As everyone pushes deeper into the forest J'nah notices that all ther normal noise in the forest has gone quiet. Is this because of your presence or something else causing the sudden quiet. It is almost like the forest and the creatures are holding their breaths to see what happens next.
Not finding a threat in this tree, Millwater climbs down and heads for the next tree keeping range and bearing with Sorrow. Relying on sound, sight, and smell, he climbs up next tree for another bird's eye view. Looks toward Sorrow and Veeshal to see how they are fairing.
J'nah, steps left and to sight of the road folks without leaving tree cover, he raises his hand, gives them a nod and slips an arrow into the bow aiming it back down the road, eyeing the area, he slowly creeps up keeping to his stealthy approach.
Festoon remains hidden, bow ready and smiling at the surprise he's gonna pull on whatever is skulking around.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
As everyone comes alert to something possibly coming their way everyone readies their weapons. About this time arrows come raining down on the main group that is on the game trail. Veeshal and J'nah are both hit for 2 points of damage. Looking up into the trees you all see some wooden platforms that have what looks like Goblins with bows attacking you. What is your next actions? I will need initiative rolls and combat rolls if shooting back. As long as you are shooting upwards you are shooting at a disadvantage. If you are looking for a way up I need investigation checks. This is the start of combat.
Millwater sees an attack unfold on Veeshal and Sorrow! Spotting goblins attacking from platforms in the trees. He heads for the nearest platform, leaping from branch to branch. Slipping a shuriken dart from his pocket, and a deft flick of the wrist sends it flying toward a goblin.

Sorrow curses under her breath as she bolts to the left side of the roadway and into those trees, scanning them quickly and the boughs holding up the platforms in an attempt to assess the size and strength of the boughs, but putting the trunk between her body and the path.
Vee yelps in surprise as the arrow cuts a furrow into his arm, then as more arrows rain down he also scrambles for the trees on the left, managing to Sorrows bulk between him and the path.

Seeing the makeshift platforms J'nah chuckled, "Some things don't change, for Kobolds it's using rock formations, for you green skins, it's trees." For someone who constantly practiced shooting between rock formations to hit his reptilian prey, shooting between the branches should yield the same results, the only thing that was changing was the prey. Not one to just give away an advantage, J'nah selected a good tree to duck behind for his own cover that had a vantage, breathing and casting "Hunter's Mark" before throwing his shortbow to the side of the tree and bracing, he notched and within a moment, unleashed and kept his eyes on his target. He needed to study them more and how they reacted.
Concentrating on Hunter's Mark: Closest Goblin on a platform.
As everyone scrabbles to get away from the arrows coming down J'nah quickly moves to a tree to help shield him as he takes aim at a goblin and shoots it killing it. Festoon makes it to another tree and looks about but does not see a way up. Sorrow arriving at another tree trunk looks around and spots a way for them to get up. She sees a platform that is about eight feet up that has a ladder laying upon it. In the middle of this platform along the trunk is another ladder that leads to the upper platform that seem to be connected together with bridges. The platforms seem to be well built. Another goblin takes aim at sorrow but misses. Everyone then hears a gruffer voice saying something up on the platforms but you do not see where it is coming from. Veeshal arrives at a tree trunk looking for a way to get to these archers that are above but does not see way up. Tail feathers has the same luck not seeing a way up. More arrows come raining down. Veeshal is hit again for 4 damage. Festoon is missed but J'nah is hit from behind for 5 damage. Everyone else is missed. Meanwhile Millwater being up in another tree has a clear shot of a Goblin and he tosses a shuriken dart at the goblin hitting him and killing him. Millwater is able to jump to another nearby branch as he moves closer to a platform that he sees ahead of him. If it were not for the sounds of battle and then seeing where the shots were coming from he would have not seen the platforms that are camouflaged so well in the trees This ends the first round of battle. I figured Sorrow would say something to the rest as she gets ready to move in the second round.
Next attack/damage with any moves you wish to make for the second round.

Tail Feathers ducks behind some foliage to blend in, while looking for a way up to help locate any on the ground. If there is any close to her she will do a claw attack.

A smile creeps on his face when he sees the goblin drop like a stone from the shuriken dart piercing the base of its skull. Millwater senses he has not been spotted yet so he moves carefully towards the platform. Slipping another shuriken dart from his pocket, a flick of the wrist as his master taught him. Quick, precise, one fluid movement in exhale, and the shuriken dart flies toward the goblin .

Sorrow-seeing a way up-calls out in Draconic "OVER HERE. TO ME" not caring if the others understood her, just trying to get their attention. She then takes 3 strides away from the tree, bolts back and leaps up to grab the platform and roll onto it, coming to her feet axe at the ready.

Seeing the warning from J’nah, Sorrow growls low and deep, her smile at the anticipated battle hidden behind her balaclava.
Hearing and seeing the warnings, Vee slowly and carefully clicks off the safety and takes s couple deep breaths.
Festoon remains hidden, bow ready and smiling at the surprise he's gonna pull on whatever is skulking around.

Realizing that last shot came from behind him, J'nah puts his back to the tree and scans from where the shot came from and curses the target,
