"Perhaps Eku or Zee know more of dis. Baht, Greggor tinks it best to leave... at least for de night."
Greggor makes sure he hasn't forgotten anything and returns to camp and finishes putting up the tents. (He needs to keep busy to keep his mind off the statue and the strange powers his companions possess.)
Greggor has seen battles, but none aided by magic, nor any over so quickly... this is a far cry from the life of a farmer or mercenary... why do the Gods bless so many of his comanions, yet have not answered his prayers... Greggor has never known much about the gods, just that they all should be respected or feared...perhaps he should ask? No... not yet... in time... and what of the Kenku... what hellspeak was that, and where did he learn it?
Once Greggor completes the tent project, he will have some of the boar the hunters brought back earlier. He will sit by the fire eating, and drinking from one of his waterskins lost in thought. Then he will stay up to assist with the first watch continuing to sip from one of his skins, before getting some rest himself.
Zachariah looks back at the statue. "This statue is of Ubtao, the Chultan god," he says. "I've never read anything about a maze, though, so I'm afraid I'm no help there." He looks again at Kaslo's drawing, smiling at the Dwarf's skill.
After watching Kaslo sketch the maze, he meanders slowly back to camp. Eats some of the boar and thanks his friends once again. With that he grabs his bed roll, and gets ready to fall asleep. He makes a prayer to Tempus.
"I'll take watch tomorrow night, I need to rest night."
Also going to make some adjustments to my prepared spells. Going to take Create/Destroy water. Kaslo should take purify water. That way incase we cant find any water. Thor can make some in a pinch if he hasn't used his spell slots.

Kaslo looks around to those still here " Crikey that could have been a lot worse! Everyone alright?"
He then turns his attention to the curious maze etched on the statue and then gets an idea. Casting Light on his shield, he props his shield up against his bag and positions it to illuminate the etching better. "Lets have a better look at ye"
History check: 20
Convinced that he can manage it, he rummages around in his bag and pulls out his book and writing supplies and begins to copy the maze onto the pages of his book.
Intelligence check: 2
With advantage from Zach helping (thanks Zach!)- 8
As you sit down to sketch the maze you dig deep into your memory trying to recall anything you might know of a strange statue in the Chultan jungle. And you remember Ubtao created the jungle as a test for his people, a maze for them to pass through on their way to a heavenly afterlife. Learn the maze that represents your life, for you must know it when you meet Ubtao in the afterlife. Understand your place in the jungle, represented by your maze. Respect the dinosaur, for they are the Children of Ubtao, agents of his will and gifts of his bounty.
This must be a statue of Ubtao, The God of the Chultan people.
It takes you a half hour but you think you get the maze copied to perfection. You compare them one more time before being satisfied that it is complete.
Zachariah follows Kaslo back to camp and eats a meal of boar (since I found out he didn't do that before the explosion) before finding a smooth place to roll out his bedroll. He sits upon his bed, crosses his legs before him, and pulls a small leather-bound book out of his pack. Deciding he would help keep watch in the early part of the night, he casts light on a small stone and covers it with some cloth to keep the light from disturbing those asleep. It gives gives off just enough light to illuminate the pages of his book as he flips through. Anyone else awake and keeping watch hears Zachariah begin praying in whispers to God, thanking him for safety on the river and against the weird frog things. He thanks God for his new companions and asks for protection and wisdom in the coming journey. After some other inaudible prayers, Zachariah begins to quietly read from the book — lines which almost sound like poetry.
OOC: When it is time for second watch, Zachariah will wake up Elvoril and then curl up and go to sleep himself. I guess I'm assuming we're doing three watches throughout the night. I probably should do a perception check: 10
Kaslo eats some of the boar and finishes the rest of his water. "This is delicious" as he nods his thanks to the hunters.
Seeing quite a few of the party members already asleep, Kaslo gets his bed prepared.
"Oi, Zach- Do you mind if I call you Zach? It just rolls of the tongue easier. Anyways, in the morning we mustn't forget about the lily we saw in the river earlier. G'night"
Ahkmenos will walk over to the grung chunks and inspect the daggers (I want to make sure they're safe to touch just in case they WERE poisonous frog dudes).
Your first night in the jungle goes by without incident and you all awake to Eku cooking some fish. Zee And Undril already started to breakdown the camp.
"So what was this explosion that had you all running into the jungle last night? That was stupid by the way" Eku says as she hands out the fish to everyone.
Zee and Undril begin loading the boats with the gear and breakdown the rest of the camp as everyone eats.
"I hope your ready for another hard day of rowing." Eku chuckles.
The heat is already unbearable and you can see storm clouds in the distance.
"Looks like a storm coming" Zee comments as she sits down and eats some fish.
after eating, Elvoril will reapply insect repellent. He will check his rain catcher to see if he can refill his water skins (did it rain last night?) then he will stow his gear in his pack and prepare to row in the canoe again.

Oh, never mind. I guess I'll just go to bed...

Kaslo has been up before dawn, meditating and taking in the sounds of the jungle.
“If anyone wants clean water, fill up your skins from the river and leave them there and I will purify them shortly.”
He applies some more insect salve and goes down to the river to fill his skins up, and to see if the lily is still there from yesterday.
