"I'm confused Leree, is there are problem with them not being humans or elves?"
(Also for my own help I am also confused, I mean I am assuming they are genasi but is there a bigger reason for them being pointed out? Also is EVERYONE looking like this or just these 3, what about Bane?)
"It's not everyday you see genasi, smooth criminal!" Leree whisper screams. Indeed, everyone else here are humans and elves, but these three stand out because genasi are rare. Its not everyday you meet people whose ancestors include real elementals. In a way, you might feel kindred to them.

"Oh hey there Mik!" This fiery fellow animates as he speaks. His hair flames up as he speaks. "Name's Pelt. I take it you are heading up to Silverymoon?"
"Pleased to meet you,"the airy woman curtsies. "I hope you don't mind I join the conversation? My name is Lulu."

The journey begins! This little caravan moves northward up the Long Road. This is the common and most direct route to Silverymoon as well as your destination - Red Larch. You travel for 4 hours [16 miles or 2 hexes as the map below shows] with little going on in the caravan and no clear signs of danger. This part of the world is full of rolling hills that turn into the great mountains that hug this route north. Leree has told you a few times that gnolls and bandits tend to make up the bulk of threats you might encounter on this journey north. Bandits should be easy enough... but gnolls. Those are a bit scary. Creepy. Gross, really!
Do you walk or ride on one of the wagons? Is there any NPC you are gravitating to for conversation or is Mik keeping to himself?

Leree is pretty much riding Dragon. She sticks to the rear of the group and seems to be keeping a watchful eye out for any signs of trouble. There are any other interesting members of this caravan aside from the people you've been introduced to so far. The other members seem to be merchants, aides, and civilians as best you can guess.
Bane chuckles at your attempts to impress her. It seems the factoid you gave her about ragweed being a common allergy was not quite that impressive. Still, she laughed, so that's gotta be something, right? She is actually mounted upon a horse as you walk alongside her. She stays near the front of the group. After some talk about nature, she asks you, "Mik, are you from around here? What's your story." She smiles down at you. It is hard to read her expression.

"Not much to talk about. Parents died when I was young, lived on my own, had to work my @$$ off for what I got, which is nothing, especially seeing how hard I've worked. Fire has taken a bit from me, but now I see it also brings life. Out on a bit of a job right now."
While they are traveling there is an odd sight, for during the day, an owl, sighting larger than most owls. The other odd part about the owl, she is multie colored from head to tail/bottom of her wing, goes from white to pinks to a fire red. When ever a breeze hits her a trail of fire follows him, same thing happens when ever she dives or some other way of picking up speed.
[I see, so this owl is your wildfire spirit? Excellent! Pardon me for taking a while to post... I put your new temporary allies on the first post!]
Bane watches as this majestic owl flies by, her eyes sparkle with curiosity. She turns to face Mik, brimming with questions. Before she can ask anything, you come along a bridge. Alone, the bridge isn't really worth thinking about, however as the caravan gets closer to crossing, the horses suddenly spook and stop. They bay and whinny with fright as two trolls suddenly appear from beneath the bridge!
The troll on the left shouts in broken common, "No pass until you give someone. Give someone and you pass!"
[If you decide to just fight it out, go ahead and roll initiative for everyone! Here is a map for reference. Your owl is there, its like 3 squares to Bane's right. The map is also a link to the image if you want to try to zoom in or anything!]

2.5 points of order. First and a half, yes the owl is the Wildfire spirit, and I would like to have the owl out more as flavor because one of the abilities they have:
The spirit appears in an unoccupied space of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you. Each creature within 10 feet of the spirit (other than you) when it appears must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC or take 2d6 fire damage.
Last want to make sure I'm correct, I am controlling all 5 NPCs, and rolling each ones initiative?
Situation questions.
What about the common folk are they at risk of being involved in combat?
You described their speech as broken common, and their words were "give someone" can Mik tell if they are miss using a word or if they really want a person as a payment to cross?
1. So you mean you want the owl out cosmetically as like a pet, but you "activate it" for its 1 hour duration/effect to be a full-fledged fire spirit? That seems fine by me as long as you don't use it like for combat outside of when you activate it. Does that make sense?
2. Yup! You control all the NPCs. After this journey is over (or if people die), you won't likely control so many. I suspect you may ask 1 or 2 to possibly join your squad in Red Larch -- maybe! So ye, roll everyone's initiative!
3. The commoners and the noble guy are in the wagons. They will not be participating. Basically, if you guys lose the combat, then everyone gets eaten probably.
4. They seem to be asking for a person as payment, probably to eat. Mik may not have run into trolls before, but its a common enough fact about them -- they eat people! They also charge tolls at bridges they don't own... as you can see! hehe

Your intention to fight is clear! Mik, Bane, and Pelt can all make their first moves! As a reminder, you can mix around their movements and actions. For example, Bane could move up to the Troll A, Pelt could shoot a Fire Bolt at Troll A, and Bane could follow up with a punch. Basically, feel free to use tactics. This will be more relevant when you move up in levels.
