You’ve been traveling along the High Road for days. As evening approaches, you spot a wooden signpost next to a trail that heads north into the hills. Nailed to the post are three arrow-shaped signs. The two marked “Waterdeep” and “Daggerford” follow the High Road but point in opposite directions. The third, marked “Nightstone,” beckons you to follow the trail. If memory serves, Nightstone is roughly ten miles up the trail.

1. Narrate your character's actions with plain black text.
2. Have your character speak, "like this". The speech text should be emboldened and in a color of your choosing.
3. "I can state my inner monologue like this", Charlie thinks to himself. Similar to your speech text, but italicized instead of emboldened.
4. [OOC] Tag out of character text like this. Try to keep OOC chat in Discord (We will not be utilizing Discord, use the messages thread instead) for the most part.
5. You can link spells, actions, and skills with a tooltip by putting the name in-between "tags". [ spell]Magic Missile[ /spell] turns into Magic Missile when the spaces are taken out of the brackets. [ action]Disengage[ /action] turns into Disengage. [ skill]Stealth[ /skill] turns into Stealth
6. Thinking ahead and posting rolls you think you might need to make ahead of time is never a bad thing. Sometimes we may not use them. ie. Charlie moves in to examine the statue's butt area more closely. Investigation6
7. Below this is an example of a standard combat turn. You need to include a detailed description of your actions along with your rolls. If I impost advantage or disadvantage after the fact, or you want to expend a bardic inspiration die etc... Just edit the post from your turn, and add the new roll at the bottom of the post. All of this is done using the dice roller, which is the small dice icon in the toolbar.
Charlie runs across the courtyard, towards the goblin (goblin 2) closest to the well, making a heavy two handed swing with his battle-axe Attack Attack: 16 Damage: 8
8. You can also use a spoiler to add extra rolls you think you might need, or other messages. Do this by highlighting the text you want to be in the spoiler, then clicking the exclamation point icon in the toolbar.
I will often post a screen-cap of the current battle map, or loot drops in these spoilers, so make sure to check them.
9. Separating by paragraphs at conversation breaks or at logical action breaks is a good idea. Strive to not post “one-liners.” That is, don’t simply post ‘Joe the Paladin whacks the goblin.’ That’s boring. Try to weave in some narrative. ‘Joe the Paladin ducks under the goblin’s hammer, easily sidestepping the crude swipe. His ornate mace slams against the goblin’s head, delivering a powerful smite in the name of Thor.’ This is by no means quality material, but it is a step in the right direction.
10. Put your character's name in your signature line, with your character's text color denoted there. You have to go to the "Account menu", then click the "Profile" tab to change your signature. VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

Aelar walks beside Anton, barely coming up to his shoulders. He is dressed in a black leather tunic, and pants, with high black boots and gloves. He has swords in scabbards on his waist, and a variety of daggers in sheaths on his belt. He wears a travel-stained blue cloak, pulled up over his long, wild white-blonde hair. He is rather stoic, and stony-faced, saying little as they travel. He walks along with very light, casual steps, like a prowling cat. When he speaks, his voice is utterly flat in tone, with no emotion or variance, but is otherwise light like an Elves and is not unpleasant to hear.
"Didn't you say you wanted to kill some goblins Anton? I'm surprised we haven't seen any yet, on the high road. I'm sure you'll have your chance to prove yourself before long..." he trails off, smiling wryly.
Aelar examines the sign post, thinking to himself on how accurate these directions are.
Keyrona trails a few paces behind Anton and Aelar. His black hair is messily pulled back and he smells funky. He's one of the shorter elves you've seen, standing just over 5-feet, and his build is frail but his will is strong.
Mielikki (Keyrona's deity) has instructed Keyrona to seek out Lady Velrosa in Nightstone for details on getting rid of a goblin problem. "Killing goblins sounds adventurous, and I like a good adventure. Let's head on to Nightstone."
Kanthik saunters a few steps behind his companions, walking uncomfortably slowly for his size. His clothing consists of roughly cut animal pelts, and has a maul slung across his back that looks far nicer than one would expect. The white dragonborn towers over his companions and there is something about his movements that make it clear that he is out of his element. But he owed his life to this group; they had rescued him from certain death on the side of the High Road after being pursued by those wolves for countless miles. He will repay this debt, this is the path he has sought.
"Remind me..." his voice is deep and slightly stunted, as though he has not had reason to communicate with others for many months, "where are we going? This trail is not familiar."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Angiro Zenjin is a pretty short Half Elf compared to others. He has black hair with some grey streaks. Some wrinkles are clearly defined due to him constantly smiling at others. He has a mace at his side and a shield on his back. He is currently wearing white robes with red and gold trim underneath chain mail armor. Even though he is short (around 5'4") he has some muscle definition.
As he is walking beside Kanthrik, he responds to him, "We are going to a town called Nightstone. Apparently, they have a goblin problem that needs addressing. How are you holding up?"
Along this part of the journey, he takes out his prayer beads which are attach to his mace and starts touching the bead nearest to the handle of the mace, says a line of prayer under his breath and moves to the next bead. At the end of the beads there is a golden sun symbol.
Angiro turns around to look behind the group to check the area, while still praying on his beads.Perception18
"I'm feeling much better now. It is... strange... to have company again, but I am grateful for your help." He pauses for awhile, gravel and dirt crunching under his feet as they walk. "So, Nightstone... have you been there before?"
Walking backwards, taking in the early evening sky with the landscape of the land, "You are most welcome." He turns his head to Karthrik and smiles still walking backwards. " And no, I haven't. I heard that it's a great town to rest and relax a few days if you're traveling. Other than that I don't really know to much about it."
Aelar - Survival 12 - Best you can tell, these signs are wholly accurate. At least as much as they can be. No signs of being altered, either.
Angiro/Aelar - Perception 20/13 - The surrounding area seems to be pretty peacefully at the moment. Which is actually sort of odd, usually there were at least one goblin attack. That there haven't been any is unusual.

"Be my guest, Aeler. I'm personally debating if we should set up camp. It's getting darker," Angiro responds. "But if everyone wants to continue, I'm quite alright with that."
He then removes his mace from his side. While grabbing both ends of the mace, he casts Light.
"If you need some light Aeler, let me know. I can do this to one of your items." He holds his mace like a torch. "If anything, I can be bait while you can sneak around."He chuckles.
Aelar smiles to Angiro. "I usually do better in the dark, thanks though." Aelar says, before trying to slip into the shadows. He diverges from the path and tries to pick up his pace and move ahead of his companions, to the left of the road.
Aelar smiles to Angiro. "I usually do better in the dark, thanks though." Aelar says, pulling up his hood further and trying to slip into the shadows. He diverges from the path and try to pick up his pace and move ahead, to the left of the road.
You manage to sneak ahead with ease, undetected. You stay ahead of the group for the rest of the journey, which unfolds uneventfully. Until...
After following the trail for ten miles, you hear the ringing of a bell. The sound grows louder as Nightstone comes into view. A river flows around the settlement, forming a moat. The village itself is contained within a wooden palisade, beyond which you see a windmill, a tall steeple, and the high-pitched rooftops of several other buildings. Apart from the ringing of the bell, you detect no other activity in the village. The trail ends before a lowered drawbridge that spans the moat. Beyond the drawbridge, two stone watchtowers flank an open gap in the palisade.
South of the village and surrounded by the river moat is a cone-shaped, flat-topped hill on which stands a stone keep enclosed by a wooden wall. The keep, which overlooks the village, has partially collapsed. A wooden bridge that once connected the keep to the village has also partially collapsed.

The fact that the drawbridge is even lowered is unusual. Normally, they only lower it for travelers before retracting it again. You also notice that the watch towers are unguarded and that the temple bell just won't stop ringing. Between bell rings you are able to hear some commotion in nearby buildings, but not a whole lot. There are no people about near the entrance to Nightstone.
