I share my findings with group. “Should we bind them so they don’t come back to life, or just leave them be?” While walking to the next room ((is my detect magic still on (10 min duration)?))
The room beyond is made of the same white sparkling stone as the rest of this place. About a third of the way into this room, a small set of raised stairs leads up to a mosaic-tiled floor and a dark stone altar table. What appears to be giving off the light in the room is a rectangular block of black ice centered in the northern wall. Embedded in the ice seems to be small colorful gems that occasionally glow with their own light.
For Peren:
You see what looks to be the edges of a secret door on the right side of the northern room.
((Yes, Gavin's detect magic will still be active. I'll see if Mirabel or Kathra want to do anything else here in this room before going deeper into the northern room's description. Gavin, you can read what I put up for Peren and Thont.))
"I will not kill a sleeping man. Walrus. Walrus man." Kathra says. "If they wake, they may be friendly, or we may have an enjoyable fight on our hands."
She notices the others heading for the northern room and follows them.
((Also, from what I can tell, nobody acted on any decision about what to do with the bodies in the rectangular room. I'm totally cool with the answer being "we forgot about them because the next room was shiny and so left the bodies lying there on the floor." but I figured I'd check to make sure that's what is really going on.))

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
Before he leaves, Mirabel writes a quick note on a piece of parchment and places it next to the pile of walruses. It reads, in Common, "Hello, we are pretty sure you are all dead, but if not please come and say hello. -The Band of the Hand."
As described to two of you, the northern room is made of the same white sparkly stone as the rest of the complex. About a third of the way into the room, a short amount of stairs rise to a mosaic tile landing dominated by a dark stone altar table. On the northern wall, a rectangular block of what appears to be black ice is set into the stone of the wall, a dry, icy mist radiating slightly from its edges. Embedded in the ice appears to be gemstones of various sizes, which glow off and on in their own light to mimic a star-field of sorts. Situated around the ice display are seven circular disk-sized notches. The eight's notch appears to be filled with a disk not dissimilar to the ones you have already collected.
Peren seems to spy an abnormality in the eastern wall before the stairs and goes over to investigate it.
For Peren:
You thought you might have figured out the opening mechanism, but the doorway appears jammed somehow and doesn't open.
For Gavin:
That's a very magical ice wall display. It radiates the same mix of Transmutation and Evocation magic that the disks do.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Is anything out of proportion to a normal humanoid? Like, are the stairs all for humanoid size, etc.? And is there any sort of track or scuffs in the floor that gives us a sense of boots, or animals or movement? (Like, even the Walruses?)
((For my purposes, since we've made it to the disk puzzle, if you are going to put things in holes, please signify which hole you are putting what. Clockwise from the bottom disk that is already in place, each hole corresponds to a number; so from the left of the bottom around count 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ,6 ,7, and the #8 is already filled.))

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
From what you can tell, everything about this place has been sized for medium sized humanoids, if maybe on the larger end like you or those Walrus-folk out there. Actually, you've found everything rather comfortable to move around in.
((Oh, just a heads up, I'm about to get off work and go run my live D&D game. I'll be trying to check in from time to time to resolve things, but don't expect more than one or two posts from me before I head to bed tonight.))

Mirabel looks at the display. "I have a feeling that we will need to do this in the correct way, or something bad will happen. That's how it usually goes in the tales back home, anyway. Let's give this some thought."
((Which is to say, there is no way I am doing anything before I look at all the discs, which I'm not going to attempt to do on my phone. Mirabel will totally have an idea soon))

I'll turn my attention to the north room as well

"I'm not touching ANYTHING." :)
((After Kathra and Mirabel post what they would like to check in the room))
Peren would like to investigate the secret door closer and try to find a way to open it
I ask Gavin to give me guidance
Investigation = 14
Plus 3
well that was not good
"Well, on to the next one, I guess."

((I take it we are all moving on then?))
Thont's fine trying to get a better idea of the purpose of the room before playing with bodies...

“Hmmm, maybe those discs are keys after all. I wonder what they unlock.”
"Mirabel, you've got those discs, right? Put them in here and see what happens."
