The stench. Dear god the stench. Avaria takes a step back instinctively barely able to handle it, but then she takes control of her faculties, allowing herself to go into a state of rage to protect her friends from whatever the hell has (BA rage)
Turning towards the creature that is port side, and unsheathes the greatsword she acquired from the Hargrove's guard. She swings, and apparently the stench is just too overwhelming as her attack is 10.
Jan's crossbow bolt flies true and pierces the arm of the glowing eyed undead creature, though the necrotic damage doesn't seem to affect them as much as Jan might have expected.
Avaria moves in to melee range of the other creature and does indeed miss, but not by as much as you'd think (toss the damage roll in just in case on subsequent attacks - undead are not the most agile opponents).
The port side pale corpse of a humanoid lunges at Avaria (24 to hit - critical - for 13 slashing - Avaria must also roll a CON Save - DC 10 - on a failure she'll be paralyzed for 1 minute).
The starboard creature lunges forward, swiping it's taloned hand at the only other person in the room, Ethel (25 to hit - another critical, which is insane - for 20 slashing - thank goodness for the temp hit points - like Avaria, Ethel needs to make a CON Save - DC 10 - on a failure she'll be paralyzed for 1 minute).
From the staircase, what are clearly animated, walking, clumsy looking, corpses begin to enter the room; two at this point, but you can all see that there are more behind those two.
Ula sees Ethel almost brought to her knees and doesn't hesitate. She charges forward shouting at Ethel "Don't give up yet."
With those words, Ethel feels magical energy pour into her body (Healing Word healing Ethel for 12 hp).
Ula doesn't stop there, and swings her warhammer at the head of the pale savage corpse that just slashed Ethel (18 to hit for 7 damage).
Between Jan and Ula's attacks, this creature is hurt - still standing - but has taken a beating.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
((Sorry to recon some of the above but Marrin uses her reaction to...))
Marrin scowls on seeing the creature approach Ethel and flicks a finger towards it causes a Ethel to flash brightly a moment when it swings (silvery barbs the crit on Ethel) and some of that glow remains on Ethel, giving her a slight glow (advantage on Ethel's whatever).
She'll then call to the creature next to Ava,
"Wow, I don't know what's harder, smelling you or seeing you."
Vicious mockery: 3 (2)
((Wisdom save of 15, on fail da on next attack. On pass, nada.))
Ethel's Attacker - Re roll - 9 - unfortunately still hits Ethel but no longer a critical so rerolling damage - 12 slashing - and still needs the DC10 Con save to prevent being paralyzed - Ula is still going to heal Ethel per above.
Ava's Attacker - WIS Save - 1 - Marrin sees a momentary flash of something in the creatures eyes - some sort of memory of being insulted and pain but it doesn't slow them down much.
As the creature springs on Ethel, she at first seems to weather the attack better than may have been expected. But then, as she begins to mouth a warning to her friends, she seizes up. Her body freezes mid-shout, in a posture of pain and horror.
[Attack wipes out the temp hp and then some, but healing brings her back up to basic full health.]

Avaria and Jan are up.
There's the injured creature right next to Ethel and Ula (towards the starboard side / middle), and the one to the port side that Avaria tangled with already, then the two zombies that have cleared the stairs but are near the top of them, and at least two more still on the stairs.
Seeing Ethel become paralyzed enrages Avaria more and she shifts into her more wolf persona. Growling now, she continues to attack the one on the port side.
Jan's bolt flies true and straight through one of the glowing eyes of her target. It stands for a moment, looking like it will lunge forward and bite into Ethel's neck, but the dim residual brain finally accepts the fact that it's dead and has been for awhile and collapses to the ground, some of the stench coming of its body subsiding.
Avaria, too distracted by Ethel's paralysis misses the port side ghoulish creature.
Ula, having put herself in front of Ethel to protect her, finds herself the target of the first two of the salt water soaked zombies.
The two creatures lumber forward and attempt to use their fists to slam the dwarf, but Ula's strength is too much for one to get past, and her armour absorbs all of the blow of the other.
The ghoul in front of Avaria responds with equal ferocity as it claws at the shifter (17 to hit for 8 slashing - plus need a DC 10 Con Save or Avaria will be paralyzed ).
The next two zombies come up the stairs, but they can't get past the first two to get at Ula. Two more zombies can be see on the stairs behind those two, for a total of six so far.
Ula swings her warhammer at the closest zombie, cleaving a large hole in the side of its head, damaging the creature but not slowing it down much.
With a gasp, she seems to have regained her senses, though too late to accomplish anything this round.
