Avaria's sword slashes deeply into the ghoul's shoulder, injuring it badly.
It in turn swipes a taloned hand at Avaria, but misses the shifter completely.
Ula steps forward bringing her warhammer down hard on the ghoul's head, caving in the skull. The undead creature crumples to the ground and goes still.
For a moment you all continue to breathe hard until you realize all of your opponents are down. The hole the ghouls made in the wall doesn't appear to attract anyone else's attention, at least not yet.
"No," Ethel says, somewhat distracted in response to Marrin. "I simply guessed that he may have been the mutinous Bosun mention in the captain's journal. It hardly matters, now...".
Ethel moves closer to the super zombie, examining it. She wonders at what could have animated this corpse with such an unusual facsimile of life, granting the corpse a quickness and zest rarely seen in the undead.

As Avaria's rage subsides, she watches her friends check out the bodies, "Are we ready to leave this ship yet? It is really giving me the creeps and well... kicking my ass as well."
"A fair point, and bottom of the ocean is better than in the wrong hands... but these undead were leagues beyond what Godrick was capable of with his re-animated goblins. Jan doesn't find a chest anywhere, but does find a wooden box pushed to one side, under some debris. Inside she finds 507 gp, and 199 sp. She also finds a plain looking cloak. When she touches the material, even though it looks like a plain black wool, it has an uncanny strength to it.
Ethel doesn't discover anything of note about the 'super' zombie. But it definitely was different than any of the undead she had seen before. It was not alive, but it was the closest thing to life she's seen so far.
Ula looks at Avaria and the others. She reaches over and touches the shoulder of her shifter friend and Avaria can feel a spark of energy flow from the dwarf and into her arm (Cure Wounds for 15 HP).
One doorway in the center of the wall towards the bow. One doorway in the center of the aft wall (which is the doorway the party came through). And a hole the ghouls clawed through in the starboard side of the bow wall (looking into it reveals an small empty cabin filled with smashed furniture, crushed wooden boxes, and other debris - a porthole to the starboard side and a door to the bow side (likely leading to the same passage that the door from this room leads too).
Jan dumps the coinage into her pack, and stuffs the cloak in as well. Worth taking and looking at later, at least. Bolts claimed, she shoulders her pack, checks the action of her crossbow and gives a nod.
"Let's check the room on this level first, in case we've any other friends here."
She'll take up position to have a shot on the doorway.

Ethel rises from her inspection of the zombie to take a position with the others. "Avaria," she begins harshly, before pausing.
She starts to speak again in a softer, more plaintiff tone. "... Please, try to coordinate your battles with the rest of us. Your passion is a great strength, but it may lead you to sorrow if you cannot control it... channel it... make it serve you. You don't need to throw yourself at your targets. Let us help you."

At first Marrin doesn't hear anything from the other side of the door but just as she's about to take her head away something catches her attention. She pauses and listens for a few moments longer. Now she's sure of it. A shuffling of what are probably feet can be just made out. She can't necessarily say exactly what is moving but the gait of the shuffle makes her think of something humanoid in size and probably more than one.
Avaria nods to Ethel, slightly admonished but not entirely so. Enough though to wait for Marrin to give the signal to open the door.
"I hear shuffling in there, more than a single pair of rotting feet could make. Given the noise we just made in here almost certainly more of the same, anything alive would have come to see what was happening."
Looking over at the SZ while she rubs her bruised arm,
"Anyone got anything we could get a swarm of them with rather than just wading into them? I can do another thunder spell that can hit a group but I'm not sure that is going to be enough if it is a couple of those."
((I think it is different based on the picture Thor posted? Looks like a small room to the right of the one the door leads to, I think. The white in the top left corner of the room we are in is...just a white bit?
If not, Marrin looked in and didn't see anything but garbage.))

Our of combat.
Looking down at the mess, Marrin shakes her head in disgust as she retrieves her dagger before half turning to look at Ethel,
"You knew the half-orc? Bossan something?"
She'll peek into the hole the ghoul's made while she listens before taking in the rest of the room.
Jan will retrieve and clean bolts, checking the body and belongings of the half orc.

As Avaria's rage subsides, she watches her friends check out the bodies, "Are we ready to leave this ship yet? It is really giving me the creeps and well... kicking my ass as well."
Marrin will give Ava an understanding tight lipped smile.
"I'm not really enjoying our welcome either. How are you feeling?"
Leaving the looking around comes over and gives Ava an up/down inspection.
"I don't think I could have taken even one of the hits you just took."
Looking at the claws marks in her friend she asks, clearly to lighten the mood,
"You're not feeling hungry for the flesh of the living are you? Or at least not more than normal..."
Saying over her shoulder,
"Ula, you have any magic left? I can help Ava a bit but you're the expert."
"There's still supposed to be a chest somewhere?", Jan asks from where she's inspecting the downed necromancer.

"Sure, but is it worth any of our lives?"
She uses prestidigation to clean some of the nasty zombie and ghoul goop off Ava's clothes as she says this.
"And who knows if they still have it onboard?"

Smiling her thanks to Ula for helping Ava, Marrin will ask,
"Well, who wants to push on? Jan makes a compelling argument. The counter argument is laying on the floor putrifing."
She takes a deep breath then makes a face when she realizes her mistake and says, unenthusiastically,
"All that said, I'm up for going on for now. Forward or down?"

Marrin will give the door a listen first: 21
Then look to the rest to see if they are ready.

Going in?

"I hear shuffling in there, more than a single pair of rotting feet could make. Given the noise we just made in here almost certainly more of the same, anything alive would have come to see what was happening."
