Ethel staggers as the shadow leeches the warmth from her bones. Her legs wobble beneath her, barely strong enough to stand.
Hurt, desperate, she briefly moves her hands in front of her to call forth a gout of flame...
No. A stern voice, her own voice, through gritted teeth. Stick to the plan. You told the others what you would do... now do it.
She raises her walking stick and draws a hand across it slowly, twirling it as though drawing cotton candy from a barrel, and then flicks it into the hall beyond the door.
Then she raises her cane, anticipating the next strike to be the last...
[Ethel casts web, creating sticky spiderweb inside a 20' cube, layered across the floors, walls and ceilings. She targets a point beyond the door that should catch both zombies and just pick up the ghast, without grabbing Avaria.
The webs are difficult terrain and lightly obscure their area. Each creature that starts its turn in the webs or that enters them during its turn must make DC 15 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is restrained as long as it remains in the webs or until it breaks free.
Ethel will respond to any additional attacks against her by casting shield. Whether it helps or not.]

Strong sticky strands of magical webbing turn the hallway ahead into a nearly impassable mess. Given how close the ghast and Avaria are, Ethel has to place the center of webbing just right. She almost holds her breath as the strands of web race outwards. But it looks to have worked. The ghast is barely in the webbing; barely but still in it.
The two zombies plod forward. One (Zombie 1) presses straight into the webbing and gets completely restrained. The other one (Zombie 2) manages to stumble forward, its awkward gait managing to find just the right sequence to avoid getting stuck. It still only stumbles ahead slowly but its close enough to get completely out of the webbing and through the doorway. It swings a slow arm at Ula but misses completely.

Jan and Avaria are up.
Avaria will need to make a DC10 CON Save or be poisoned by the stench of the ghast.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The shadow having cut into the effectiveness of her ranged attacks, Jan draws a dagger and hopes that her patron's imbuement of her attacks helps carry it through.
Dagger Attack: 25 Damage: 7 + 2 bludgeoning

Avaria's eyes go wide and she's just about to attack the shadow that has shaken Ethel but sees that Ula's attack obliterated it. Smiling at her dwarf friend, she turns back to the ghast and attacks.
Attack: 11, Damage: 15
Assuming that misses she growls in frustration, but stays with the ghast hoping to keep it's attention away from her friends.
Wait - is the ghast restrained? If so, she's going to swing again (adv).. Attack would be 22.
The shadow is so wispy that Jan can't manage to find enough substance for her dagger to cut through.
Avaria also looks to be hacking wide of the ghast but she manages to draw on a bit more focus from the words of inspiration from Marrin and manages to catch the vicious ghast square across the shoulder. The ghast falls back, caught in the webbing, unmoving, dead.
The shadow near Avaria seems to shift its attention ever so slightly towards Marrin but after a brief moment turns back to the shifter, its faint wispy form staying intact for now.
The shadows again try to wrap their targets in the black darkness of their being, seeking to suck the life from the living to power their own sorry excuses for existence.
The ones around Ula, Avaria, and Jan find their opponents still have plenty of strength and vigor and they're unable to get close enough or make contact long enough to do any damage (Shadows 1, 2, and 3 miss).
Ula again holds up her shield towards the Shadow trying to attack her, another radiant beam of light shooting out into the darkness from her. But again, despite the undead creature barely holding together, it withstands the divine radiance

Ethel's up.
Three shadows remain (one attacking each of Jan, Ula, and Avaria). One Zombie is stuck in the webbing back in the hallway, but the second zombie is free and also attacking Avaria.
For a moment I had 4 shadows attack and the only one that succeeded was the one attacking Ethel - with enough damage to put her to 0HP and a loss of another 3 strength points but remembered just before posting that was the one shadow that had already been destroyed.
Ethel gives Marrin a thankful glance as her words bring warmth back to her limbs, even if she remains weakened.
Then, trusting Avaria to handle the zombie for now, turns her attention to the shadow vexing Ula. She raises a hand to her mouth, whispering, and a spectral claw appears and tries to grasp the shadow.

Ethel's spectral claw makes contact with the shadow by Ula, and despite what looks like a solid grasp, she sees no effect. Perhaps something that itself is sustained by draining the lifeforce from the living cannot be drained by that same power.
The stuck zombie groans and moans and tries to work itself free from the webbing but remains firmly affixed to the sticky strands.
The other zombie flails its arms wildly at Avaria, striking her with a glancing blow (18+3 = 21 to hit for 2 bludgeoning).
Despite how resistant these creatures look to physical damage, the shadow grasping at Avaria is in such rough shape that her heavy blow from the greatsword finishes the shadow off.
Marrin again tries insulting the barely there shadow flitting around Ula. This time the creature pays more attention to the cutting words and after a brief moment, it just drifts apart, disappearing completely.
The magic behind the words of encouragement prove just enough for Jan to make contact with the shadow in front of her. She slashes through it with her dagger but doesn't do as much damage as she thought she would.
The shadow in turn tries to engulf Jan in its dark embrace but Jan is dancing around too much, still encouraged by Marrin's song and the creature misses.
Ula turns her attention to the zombie swinging wildly at Avaria and brings her hammer down on the undead creature. Her warhammer crushes the skull of the zombie, grayish matter oozing out under the impact. It falls to its knees. For a moment it looks like it might get back up but then collapses under its own weight.
Her aggravation at the shadow's invulnerability to necrotic damage being so monumental as to almost defy description, Ethel accepts that she is simply ill equipped to aid against that remaining foe. Instead, she looks to the last zombie, restrained in the webbing, and moves her spectral hand to attack this, more vulnerable, target.

With some satisfaction, Ethel sees the decaying zombie decay a little bit more. The sensation of the chill touch shakes the zombie into action but it's still just too clumsy and remains completely stuck and restrained in the web.
Damnit all anyway.

Ignoring the zombie that is swinging at her, Avaria focuses on the draining shadows. She swings her greatsword at the one next to her.
Attack: 23, Damage: 9
Watching the zombie lightly bonk Ava, Marrin suggests,
"Okay, these shadowy things seem the bigger threats?"
Before she can finish her sentence, Ava shows her agreement with actions.
Marrin decides to join that and focuses on the most wispy of the remaining shadows and calls,
"Nah, not even as bad as ghoul gas."
Vicious mockery (DC 15 Wis save) or: 2 psychic damage
She'll half sing to Jan,
"Drop the one on you."
((D6 of bardic inspiration to Jan!))
"That's the plan!", Jan replies, her voice rising in pitch as she swipes again at the shadow, after moving her hex to it.
