Jan has little choice in what to deal with. The last remaining shadow is still trying to engulf her and draw energy from her. She slashes out with her dagger.
Dagger Attack: 24 Damage: 5 piercing + 2 bludgeoning + 3 necrotic (that again doesn't seem to affect the shadow).
She makes contact and the shadow becomes a bit wispier but is still clearly a danger.
The shadow tries engulfing Jan once more, but the slashing with the dagger distracts it enough that it can't seem to focus (Critical Miss).
Ula takes a step closer to Jan, bringing her shield up as she does. The beam of divine light flashing out succeeds in scattering the remains of the shadow to the corners of the room, never to be a threat again.

Ethel's up, with the one restrained zombie remaining.
"Your rapid grasp of new concepts is remarkable. Well done, team," Ethel offers as she targets the restrained zombie with another Chill Touch. If there is any snarkiness in her comment, it is not evident in her tone.
Attack: 16 Necrotic Damage: 4

The spectral claw grips the zombie's shoulder tightly, causing more visible damage. The undead creature strains against the webbing and this time it snaps the strands holding it in place and lumbers forward, out of the hallway and into the room, finding Avaria blocking the doorway. It swings a clumsy arm at the shifter and connects soundly (Critical, 13 bludgeoning).

Lone zombie is up and flailing, though doesn't look to be in great shape.
Ava winces at that hit. She was starting to bleed pretty bad again. Wiping away the blood and sweat from her face, she brings up her sword again ready to bring the zombie low.
Attack: 26, Damage: 11
She's breathing hard now, but hopes the creature stays down.
The force of the blow smashes the zombie to the ground. It lies still for a moment but then somehow it rises from the deck, moaning but ready for more.
"Enough from you, empty vessel of dead flesh!" Ethel shouts at the zombie, bringing her spectral hand down upon it again.
Attack: 20 Necrotic Damage: 3

The skeletal hand grips the zombie again. This time the rot eats right through the creature's arm. It collapses to the floor once more, and this time it doesn't get back up.
Ethel relaxes her concentration on the webs and the gossamer strands begin to evaporate, driving away on a non-existent breeze.
At times, Ethel has feigned or exagerrated her infirmity for effect. Now, she leans hard on her walking stick, her legs looking like they can hardly support her weight. This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Having avoided the blows some of the others have taken, Jan fits actions to Ethel's words, moving into the room and giving it a quick look.

Marrin goes to sigh but is standing too close to the ghast. She instead opts to gag and shake her head while mentally adding another name to the list of people she should probably have a conversation with after this ship scourging is done.
The group catches their breath after the last encounter and find the rest of this deck to be empty of antagonistic foes. You do find a lot of broken furniture, the remnants of what looks to have been some more of the crew, their bones gnawed clean. Jan finds a pair of gold earrings wedged behind a broken cot (200gp). But there's no sign of any chest.
Near the bow there are a set of stairs leading upwards, presumably to the forward bow cabin with the stuck door. There's also the grate over what must be the cargo hold below in the hallway you found the shadows, et al. In the aft there's the trap door, also likely leading down to the cargo hold.
Ula looks about as rough as Avaria does and she nods, and despite Avaria's bravado, she still reaches out a hand and grips the shifter's shoulder. Ava can feel warm energy flow from Ula's hand and into her body, some of her wounds stitching back together (Cure Wounds for 19 HP). Ula than does the same to herself, though to a lessor extent (Cure Wounds for 9 HP).
"There's no point saving my power until it's too late," Ula says to Avaria. "Too late and you might just become on of these."
She says the last, gesturing at the now unmoving undead lying on the floor.
Thankfully Avaria checked the hatch to the cargo hold before anyone stepped on it. While there's no sign of any traps, the wood is so rotten that anyone getting too close would likely have just fallen straight through. On the plus side, with it in that condition, Avaria can easily break it apart and lift it out of the way if she wants to.

Vicious mockery on the shadow (DC 15 Wis save): 3
((Love that my phone automatically supplies the spell save details now as I type.))
The shadow ignores Marrin's insults. Perhaps this one had higher self-esteem in life.

Marrin turns to gauge how much mockery there was in Ethel's statement about 'grasping new concepts '.
Insight: 4
She'll then he'll Jan check the rooms.
Investigation: 10
As she looks she'll say,
"Well, there is the room above us with the jammed door now, I think. Probably another room up ahead and then the hatch down."
She looks down,
"Honestly, I don't want to go down based on what we've seen but I have a sinking suspicion that's exactly where it is."

Marrin gives a nod to Jan's suggestion.
"Ula, do you have any healing left? For Ava?"
Avaria rubs her hand over her face and shakes her head. "Nah, I'll be alright. Save those for later. C'mon, let's see if this trap door is trapped."
She actually takes time to check and make sure there isn't any traps around the door to the cargo hold.
Investigation 18! wow
