Ula has bitten a raw sliver of ginger from the root and just clenches it between her back teeth. It gives a harsh, acrid burn there, but maybe it’s better than being sick, or perhaps it might take her mind of the motion just a little at least. The ginger oils seep into her mouth and down her throat for good or for ill. She looks a little like she’s chewing tobacco, and it gives her a somewhat grim expression.
When Quartermaster Bigge announces the party are needed again she mutters under her breath, sounding a little more dwarven than usual, “Ahh, hells!.. Istishia be with us”.
“ ‘All hands on deck’, is it?!… What do you need?”.
Avaria looks around at her companions and is relieved to see that no one is worse for wear. As Bigge requests and they start filing out the door, she shrugs and follows the rest, wondering what was awaiting them on deck.
The storm has grown in power since you entered your rooms. The portholes only gave you a view of a sliver of what was facing the Rose Marie.
The rain is pouring thick, and every movement above board is strained against the powerful winds.
As you step out of the door you can see the quartermaster looking up at the sails. When he looks back he just shakes his head and points upwards.
"We were hit by lightning," Bigge shouts.
You can see the smoldering remains of one of the sails. Lightning must have started the sail on fire but the rain put it out, but the one sail hangs their useless.
"We need to replace it to have a chance at getting out of here." Bigge calls out. "I need you to either go up there and replace the sail or take over for the crew. Otherwise we're going to be stuck here when the heart of this storm hits."
The Captain is at the helm, shouting orders to the crew.
The doorway across the main deck, the one next to the captain's stands open and a figure stands there. The dim light filtered through the storm doesn't let you make out any great detail but with the door frame for reference you can tell they're tall. They appear to be wearing a black robe. And that could be a beard.
Avaria looks up to the sails and lets out a low whistle. She could see how this was an issue. Being on the sea made Avaria uneasy, but she was used to being caught out in storms and for the most part, didn't bother her too much.
She looks to Bigge and shouts, "What would we replace the sail with? Do you have a spare? Or should I use the blanket from my bunk?" she waits for an answer, but starts securing everything she is wearing getting ready for the climb.
Marrin takes in the dire situation and sees her companions jumping to the tasks. She walks over to Avaria and looks expectantly to Bigge for his answer as she gets ready for some climbing with her shifter roommate.
Before they head up she'll give Avaria a pat on the shoulder and with a bit of a rousing hum she says,
As Marrin pats Avaria on the shoulder as they wait for an answer from the Quartermaster, she turns and gives her new friend a smile. "Yes, yes we do. You comin' with me? Ha, of course you are!" Her grin widens as she starts looking forward to the climb with Marrin.
Ethel stands for a heartbeat in the rain. Then she summons her mage hand and looks for a crew member to relieve, desperately afraid she will once again prove ill-suited to this dangerous physical labour.

Jan sees one of the crew, the goblin that Ula met before, the one called Slick, working on a loose aft sail near where the figure in the doorway stands. As she approaches Slick, the goblin looks at here, and then past her to where Avaria and Marrin are sizing up the foremast rigging to see how to climb.
Slick pushes the end of a partially furled sail into Jan's hands as she approaches.
"Get this tied down. If it unfurls again we'll be pushed sideways into the wind." Slick shouts, pointing at a rope lying loosely on the deck.
She then flips open a trunk near the rails and yanks out a storm sail and runs across the rolling deck towards Avaria and Marrin.
Jan, you can see that the figure in the doorway is running his hands along the rope, but it's not entirely clear what he's doing.
Perception if you want to see if you can make out more. Also Dex Check to get the rope and sail under control. Sleight of Hand can be used if you have proficiency in it.
Slick races over to the foremast where the rest of the group are. She nods at Avaria and Marrin and points up into the rigging.
"I'll go to the top gallant, you two need to go out on to either side of the crosstree and secure the sail at the corners," she shouts above the wind then looks over at Ula and Ethel. "You two, see that bottom rigging here and here. You need to tie down the lines we drop down to you from above."
Without waiting for confirmation you all understand, she starts climbing the rigging, the sail draped heavily over her shoulder, showing surprising strength for a small goblin.
AVARIA and MARRIN:
Where Slick has indicated is about halfway to two - thirds up the mast. There's a crosstree, a wooden beam perpendicular to the mast with rigging coming down like a spider web. You need to climb to there and secure the ends of the sail Slick will drop down to you.
Athletics or Acrobatics rolls if you're climbing up there. Then you'll need Dex Checks (Sleight of Hand can be used if you have proficiency in it) to try and get the sail secured and the rope down to the others.
ULA and ETHEL:
Ula still feels the effects of the seasickness, but the adrenaline rush of being faced with a storm and a job at hand actually helps her focus past it. For now it's as if the nausea holds no sway over her.
Ula and Ethel can make out the rigging loops and hooks they'll need to secure the sail guide ropes to once they're lowered down. Unfortunately neither of you have done much time at sea. While waiting for the others to climb you have a moment to check out the other knots around you. Investigation checks to see if you can figure them out. If either of you have proficiency in Animal Handling you can use that instead hoping to make the rope work there carry over.
With the water spray and rolling of the ship, all the ropes are going to be hard to handle. Ethel may have already activated something that might make them easier to keep from slipping.
Will wait on the investigation checks and any ideas you might have on helping you keep the ropes under control, and whether or not Marrin and Avaria manage to get those ropes down to you before the next part.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Jan:
The bearded, black-robed figure doesn't stop whatever it is he's doing with the rope. He only looks over at Jan and shakes his head.
"You're not getting anything secured with this rope if I don't fix it," he says.
Either because her mind is on two things at once or because of the conditions, Jan struggles to get the sail furled and secured.
A flash of lightning reveals that the figure in the doorway is focused on the rope. He is bearded, thin, and in a black robe.
One edge of the sail flutters out in the wind and you hear the wood of the mast creak and groan under the strain of the wind. You see the wind catching the sail does cause the ship to roll slightly and as you look midship you see both Avaria and Marrin fall.

Avaria and Marrin:
A combination of the water slicked ropes, and a slight roll of the ship from the wind catching a partially furled sail aftwards, give both Avaria and Marrin all sorts of trouble climbing the rope.
They don't get far before both fall back down to the deck, each taking 2 bludgeoning damage.
You can try again (we'll keep the dex/sleight of hands rolls banked for when you make it up).
"بھاڑ میں جاؤ", Jan mutters in elvish under her breath.
"I don't suppose you'd be amused by a reminder that we have off until after lunch tomorrow?", she calls out as she moves to open the door.
"What needs doing?", she ask Mister Bigge when she gets it open.
