The bolt from the ballista flies straight and true, hitting the giant squid square in the middle of it's gaping maw. The blast of icy blue energy from Hargrove clips one of the tentacles wrapped around the bobbing fish barrel.
Jan releases the bolt from her crossbow, and while she curses it for not being accurate, the shear size of the squid makes for a fairly easy target, especially while so much of it's body is above the water. The bolt manage to clip one of the tentacles, lodging itself deep within. A keen eye could see that the point pokes through the otherside.
Marrin, still testing the waters with her cephalopodian humour, doesn't see any discernible reaction from her insult. Maybe the giant squid just didn't hear her with all of the wave action.
Ula calls on the powers of Istishia. Her request is answered and a ray of intense light energy whips down from above. While the squid seems incredibly agile in the water, it still doesn't manage to avoid the radiant blast and a small part of one tentacle is seared.
Suffering from such an onslaught, with only the potential for a few more dead, rancid fish as a reward, the giant squid slips beneath the surface, a final slap of one tentacle looks to show the creature putting distance between itself and the Rose Marie.
Unfortunately, while some of the crew cheers, Avaria remembers there was more than one large shadow under the water.
While most of those upon the ship watch the retreating shadow of the squid disappear. They fail to see the set of tentacles come up over the port side, followed almost immediately by two more coming up over the starboard side.
One of the ones on the starboard side swings towards Marrin.
Starboard Tentacle 1: Attack: 23 Damage: 7 if the attack hits, Marrin will be grappled (DC 16 to escape). If fail, Marrin is restrained.
One of the ones on the port side swings towards Jeras the Cook.
Port Tentacle 1: Attack: 14 Damage: 8 if the attack hits, Jeras will be grappled (DC 16 to escape). If fail, Jeras is restrained.
Jeras is hit hard by the tentacle, collapsing under the weight of the attack. As he's unconscious from the attack, he is unable to escape and is wrapped tightly in tentacle.
"پتلا بزدل", Jan curses the squid that ran away with her magic still clinging to it, preventing her from shifting it to one of its many legged fellows.

Avaria tenses as she waits for the other giant squids to attack the ship, and as they do, she watches as the cook gets walloped. She runs to him, swinging her great axe around and goes to cleave the arm between the ships edge and the unconscious man.
Avaria's blade chops deeply into the tentacle but it doesn't release the unconscious chef.
The trio at the ballista, reload, and rotate the platform as quickly as they can to take aim at the creature off the starboard as that one's closer to where they were aiming before. With a loud snap, another large bolt races towards the squid.
Godrick Hargrove again releases a flash of icy blue energy, this time at the tentacles attacking Marrin on the starboard side.
For the most part the other passengers stay huddled by the mast. They hold their weapons out defensively but they make no movement towards the tentacles on either side of the ship.
The First Mate and Captain still try to guide the ship away from these creatures, splitting their attention between the squid and the storm that is still too close for comfort.
The quartermaster steps forward with a rapier, stabbing at the tentacle holding the cook.
The ballista bolt strikes deeply into the squid attacking Marrin. Goodrick's energy ray strikes the tentacles slapping at Marrin but barely makes an impact.
Not wanting to be hit himself, Bigge is careful and doesn't lunge to closely to the other squid but he still manages to press his attack and slightly pierce the tentacle.

Observing the terror unfolding on the deck, Ethlehyn scowls. Once again, the formula of fire spells + boat = doom prevents her from wielding her strongest spells to assist. Indecisive, she observes Marrin and the Cook and their respective predicaments. Once it appears Marrin has wriggled free of the tentacles assailing her, Ethlehyn turns her attention to the unconscious saucier.
She tenses and curls the fingers of her left hand into a menacing claw and raises it to her lips, whispering an incantation into her palm. A pale, skeletal hand materializes around the tentacle grasping the cook. It attempts to seize the tentacle in its ghostly fingers.
Attack: 13 Damage: 5
On a hit, the target takes necrotic damage, and it can't regain hit points until the start of Ethel's next turn. Until then, the hand clings to the target.

Jan idly wonders about the icy blue that Godrick is throwing about... he certainly seems to be more than just a common pirate. For now, she keeps to her mostly mundane attacks, drawing back her crossbow and sending a bolt at the tentacle that has the cook. If she needs to position to get a better angle, she'll move closer to Godrick.

Marrin proves almost as slippery as the tentacles and while she's still suffering from getting walloped by the giant mollusk, she is able to keep from getting wrapped up and grappled and is free to move about.
Ethel's deadly, spectral hand finds purchase on the tentacle holding Jeras the Cook. The tentacle reflexively drops the chef hard onto the deck, the squid assuming maybe it had grabbed something stabby. Jeras lies there still while the tentacle tries shaking off the cold hand of death Ethel has locked on.
Jan, too distracted about the puzzling nature of Godrick, fires her crossbow, but even as the twang of the string releases she can tell it's going wide. The bolt sails over the rails into the sea.
Ula makes her way towards Jeras, as she does she can tell he’s in pretty bad shape. Her best guess is he’s still alive - barely.
(A perception check would be an action but Ula’s passive perception is pretty good and gives her a best guess that the cook is still alive - want to know for sure, you’ll need to use her action).

Ula glances at Jeras and hopes he’ll hold on for another few moments while they take care of these monsters…
If the tentacle that lifted the chef is still nearby, she’ll attack that one. If not, she’ll move over and engage the other one, drawing out her warhammer and giving it a good bash…

Ula charges gallantly to engage the tentacle that had crushed Jeras. She sweeps her hammer around and slams it down, only to discover these creatures are slippery. Even with Marrin's inspiration still ringing in her ears, Ula's hammer barely brushes the giant squid.

The port side squid, the one that had Jeras and Ula is working to engage, rises higher out of the water, pulling itself up by one tentacle and lashing out with another. As it sweeps the tentacle across the deck, Ula's the first person it encounters.
Squid Attack vs Ula: Attack: 18 Damage: 11 and grappled if hit (DC 16 to escape).
At the same time, the giant sea beast on the starboard side also pulls itself upwards and sweeps its tentacle out, disappointed it lost its prey the first time. It looks as if it will sweep the tentacle after Marrin, but Quartermaster Bigge gets in the way.
Squid Attack vs Ula: Attack: 22 Damage: 10 and grappled if hit (DC 16 to escape).
