Assuming the motif has been pointed out, Warren gazes at it and thinks for a moment. "If we tie some ropes onto one of us, that person can make his way over there and then the rest of us can pull him back with the rope. That will also make for a quick escape if necessary. Anyone have any rope?"
(How far away is the motif, and is there any rope on the ship that we could use?)
[OOC: Ahh, ok, from your first post it sounded like we could see the boat among the asteroids, my bad.]
Muck digs through his backpack pulling out some rope, "I have some rope here and I can also extend a part of me a further 10' to grab it, if it is not too heavy." Muck mentions.
"I suppose I should hold the other end to reel him back in," Beshlog says, not sounding entirely convinced of his own words. With his confidence thoroughly shattered, all he can imagine at this point is his grip being too loose and Muck slowly floating off into the abyss.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Warren grabs all the available rope in his vicinity and starts to tie it onto Muck, "I think we have plenty of rope to get you all the way out there mate."He turns and nods to Beshlog, "Good plan, we'll run with that." He smiles, "I know I beat ya in that arm wrestle, but I still don't think I'm stronger then you." He up his end of the rope. "You hold the middle loosely while I unravel it as Muck goes. That way, if he's in trouble, we can both quickly grab it and pull him back, but if either of us lose hold there's still one of us left."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I trust the both of you without question." Muck says to Beshlog and Warren. Then moves to the railing and launches himself outwards to the other boat, shooting to land somewhere near the log but not close enough to disturb anything to have it move.
With Muck tied to a rope, he leaps out to the debris field. He lands carefully upon the few stable footholds as he makes his way to the book. And with a last leap, he grabs hold of the book in his slime hands.
Muck is pulled back aboard the ship. All that remains of the mission is to return to the starting point. But before that, shall require going through the asteroid field once more, exiting its field.

Muck hands over the book to Warren, "There you go." Then he will move back to his position by the catapult and keep an eye out for anything approaching the ship as they leave the asteroid field.
As your ship steers clear of the asteroids, another ship appears. Its sleek frame is painted in a wild shade of pink and is designed to resemble an immense squid. Starlight reflects off the ship’s hull—illuminating two turret-mounted ballistas rotating slowly to face your ship.
The squid ship keeps its distance, going past your ship. You see two ballistae aim towards the fore of the ship. As they fire you see something get launched behind them, a solid iron ball joins the volley.

He will then make his way back along the rope to the crew. half pulling himself along the rope, have oozing back up the rope.
Seeing Muck starting to come back, Warren starts reeling him back in as to make the task quicker.
Beshlog also starts pulling on the rope to reel the slime back in.

Yet the enemy's volley is no match for Mirelda as she maneuvers out of its way.
