Giles had forgotten for a moment, then nods quickly, “Yes, Soren. Poor chap. They had cut out his tongue. He deserves to be let out of his hell hole.” He turns to Zefla, saying “Right beside the room you were in. We should get him before we leave.” Then he continues quickly talking out their plan, saying “I don’t know that we want to take Lady Bauer on the next step of this. Don’t like the idea of splitting up, either. Where is a good hiding spot for her to wait for us, in safety? For us to evacuate this place? It is clear to me that Vallaki is no longer safe…”
If no one has a better plan, Giles begins to cast pass without trace on the group to sneak out of this place.
(So, Bramble will be gone by the time they get the other prisoner and leave the jail. He was hoping for distraction as they left the jail to allow the group to sneak away.)

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Zefla nods, there were a lot of pieces in a play here and timing was also an issue. "Maybe the mob will help with a distraction for us to go into the house to get Ireena? Now that Soren knows the layout of it and where to go, we might be able to sneak in and out quietly. Let these guards head out to deal with the mob and ask them to grab all the other guards as well? Note how the Baron needs this taken care of. We sneak out the back here, over to the Baron house and sneak in and grab Ireena? Use our guard friends here to get things in motion?"
"Wait... you mean to break into the Baron's home next? Its one thing to help an innocent woman escape... but we cannot abide this!" says one of the guards, and they both bristle and hoist their spears toward Burrand Zefla.
Lady Bauer sighs in exasperation and then hums a soft tune. The two guards appear dazed, then yawn, then lie down on the floor, asleep. "Quickly. They won't be down for long," she barks. "And that was my final spell. I have only simple cantrips left."
Exiting the rear door of the jailhouse, the party sees a barren and weed filled lot behind the building and an open wooden gate leading into the Baron's backyard gardens.
The rear door to the Baron's house is shut.
From the street, you can hear cries of terror... and then gasps which Sorenwould recognize as coinciding with when Bramble'ssummoning would expire.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Knowing that Zefla likely needs no help moving sneakily, the druid calls for Silvanus'Guidance to assist Burr in his efforts to carry the tortured prisoner without attracting notice from the manor or the mob of townsfolk beyond it. (Add 1d4 to next check such as Stealth).
As they pass the gate through the stone wall and close it behind them, Soren gestures silently (Mold Earth, somatic only) and earth excavates from one side of the gate to form a mound in front of the gate to block it's opening again, to at least briefly delay any pursuit from the direction of the jail-house.
Once they near the back door, he looks to the cleric of Tymora, speaking in a whisper. "Through this back door of the Baron's den lies the kitchen which likely has a cook and at least one guard in it. Past them, up the stairs to the hallway from which there are doors, one where I scented Ireena, the other through which I heard the Baron, Izek and their other two mastiffs. Ireena's door did not move when I bumped it and may be locked."
Zefla gives a low whistle as they move from one building to the next as Soren moves the earth, "That's a cool trick." she whispers to him.
Stealth w/Giles assistance: 29
As they get to the back door, "Let's see if we can sneak past the cook and guard, they might have been drawn to the noise at the front of the house. If not, Giles, you want to try and distract them while we get her? Locks? I got that." she smirks at this last part, maybe a bit too confident.
Outside, the mutilated prisoner wriggles from Burr'sgrasp and runs off, to the west, and climbs over the back wall of the jailhouse yard and disappears into the night.
Lady Bauer looks up at the Baron's home and shudders.
Carefully opening the backdoor and peeking inside, the party sees a kitchen. A door ahead is open to an interior hallway, where a guard and a servant stand, looking toward the front of the house. From that direction, you can hear shouting and the barking of dogs. To your right, a narrow staircase leads up to the second floor.
Moving quickly and silently, the party files inside and up the stairs. Either the wood is well oiled, or Giles' spell is working overtime. In either case, the guard and the servant do not notice you pass.
Upstairs, you find yourselves in a narrow, winding hall that weaves back and forth throughout the house. There seem to be a dozen different doors up here.
Downstairs, the shouting grows louder and you hear a booming voice that you recognize as Izek, the captain of the guard.

Burr looks to Soren, " Are those dogs well treated? Would they be willing to switch sides?", he knows Soren can talk to Ravens....seems reasonable he can talk to dogs to.
Burr moves to the first door in the short corridor and readies himself to open it, with the handle or forcefully, when given the nod by one of the other three.
Zefla looks back and forth from Soren to Burr, "Interesting idea. But Soren, behind which door is Ireena? We need to get out of here as soon as possible!"
"Hang on Burr, we don't want to make too much noise before we know where Ireena is. We don't want to attract the attention of those below."
Soren points silently at the door where he had scented Ireena (second/middle hallway heading north, first doorway on the right?). He keeps his voice low.
"Her scent trail led behind that door, which seemed solidly shut. The opposite door along the same hallway is where I heard the Baron, Izek, and two other mastiffs, though I think just now I heard Izek shouting at the crowd outside, so I do not know where the rest are any more."
He turns to Burr, putting a quiet hand on the big man's shoulder, whispering: "Zefla is right, my friend. You have the strength of a bull, but we will attract the entire pack's notice if we begin smashing through doors in this man-den. Save your anger for battle if possible. As for the mastiffs, they did seem angry at my scent, but not at the Baron or at Izek. I heard no pain in their voices, so I doubt they have been mistreated. Perhaps merely defending territory as befits a pack when they scent an unknown canine. I could try to speak with and even befriend them if it comes to that, though my experience with domesticated beasts is meager, and it may cost some of my primal magic. Better for us all to escape this lair unnoticed."
Both the druid and the owl on his shoulder attempt to keep watch and listen for anyone following them up the stairs or coming out a door or down a hall. Soren'sPerception: 24 Nettle'sPerception (with advantage from Keen Hearing and Sight): 10 (the owl gets an itch in her feathers and begins preening herself instead).
Soren murmurs a prayer to Silvanus and switches His Guidance to Zefla, hoping it helps the halfling work her talents with the door and any lock therein.
Giles gives Soren a thumbs up, he turns and looks anxiously at Zefla, hoping that he can help her pick the lock, holding any tools that she needs held with his mage hand. Meanwhile, he listens for sounds coming from below, location, direction, movement and trying to keep on guard for anyone approaching their position.

Soren, there are still raised voices near the front of the house, but a lot of the noise has moved outside. You do hear a voice from downstairs say, "Make sure someone's watching the back door."
The party quietly gathers in the narrow hall outside the door Sorenhad indicated. It has a simple knob handle, but a large deadbolt-type lock has been added above it, holding the door tightly shut. There is no sound from the other side, or from anywhere else on this floor, as far as any of you can tell.
The lock on the door is a formidable piece of craftsmanship, forged from heavy iron and darkened with age. The keyhole is narrow and angular, designed to thwart all but the most precise of tools.
[Zeflamay attempt to pick the lock, DC 25. She can make the attempt with Guidance from Soren. However, looking up rules on lockpicking, I found the following line from PHB pg 175, under 'Working Together', discussing the Help action:
"A character can only provide help if the task is one that he or she could attempt alone. For example, trying to open a lock requires proficiency with thieves’ tools, so a character who lacks that proficiency can’t help another character in that task. "
Gilesdoesn't have proficiency in thieves tools, so I rule that his Mage Hand assist doesn't provide advantage on the roll.
On a somewhat related note, I'm a little surprised the Trickery Domain doesn't grant lockpicking proficiency...]
