Selinae offers to help with deciphering charts and sorting through things, " Oh, did someone check if the dwarf had anything useful on him before dumping him overboard?"
She stood beside Jenna as they investigated, " Not sure I should navigate....remember that time I almost put us into that mountain?"
"He got us out of an orphanage in Waterdeep. We really didn't have a lot of opportunities outside of what Grim provided. We went where ever Grim got a job and made it here chasing treasures hired by Kessler, " Ivey explains gesturing at the comatose man which Leela healing has made the bulk of his burns disappear. "I...Kessler offered me and Thorn a way out...then...then this happened," Ivey explains gesturing again at the human man dressed in tattered and burnt robes.

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
Leela looks sympathetically at Ivey, her large brown eyes gleaming wetly. What a difficult road she had trod, the sort of path she had seen often at the temple.
"Ivey, what would you want to happen now? I cannot guarantee anything from the others, of course, but my Goddess is a protector. I cannot help your brother anymore, but I may be able to speak for you to the others."
OOC is Selinae on deck with Jenna or in the makeshift brigg with Leela? Ivey I'd no longer on deck.
Maanai remains on deck looking out at the rising sun glinting off the desert sand as morning finally approaches.
"I found maps," Adhida appears beside her cousin producing a hand drawn map of the Scorched Sea. "I don't know how accurate the dimensions are but if we head northwest we'll come upon Thonis. It's an outpost where we can hand over the prisoners and give our companions a proper burial. I've searched Vanya's room and the other sailors but didn't find much in the way of religion. Maybe just Leela? She seems pretty adept at that sort of thing..." she adds shrugging as she leans into her cousin who puts an arm around her giving her a hug.
"You...your magic I see has riddle it's origins out," Maanai says as Adhida sighs deeply.
"That it has," Adhida replies but doesn't elaborate.

Jenna shoulder bumps Sel, returning her grin. Then her face becomes solemn as she looks across the deck. After a moment she makes her way over to the cousins, looking at the sorcerer.
"I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I mean the chances were they would have tried to take the skiff anyway, but if my indiscretion was the catalyst for what happened I am truly sorry"

"Just leave us and my brother body in Thonis. I don't care what you do with Grim's corpse. I have no concern for the man before other than to avoid his wrath but now he's dead I care even less," Ivey explains to Leela.

Leela nods gravely at Ivey. "I will speak to the others. They will want assurances.
"In return, I ask that you consider, only consider... giving up this path of inflicting harm. You have seen what it is like to live under the power of another... There are many who need someone like you as a protector, rather than aggressor. I do not ask you to join worship of my Goddess, but only that you consider her goal of protection as an alternative to the road you have taken so far."
"I will consider your words. I...thank you for your help, " Ivey replies with a nod.

The cousins join Selinae and Jenna on the deck. The four work together and party arrives at the oasis of Thonis just as the sunsets.
"We are turning them over to the authorities," Adhida says to the party speaking about Ivey and the unconscious Kessler. "I have sent a message to my uncle who reached out to Seqenenre Ta'a forces here," she adds. "Are we going to have a problem with this decision, " she asks next looking at everyone.
Maanai shakes their head but doesn't speak. Adhida awaits the party's reply.

As the sun nears setting, she climbs back up to the deck to join the others in time to hear Adhida's plan.
Leela replies. "Of course, my lady. If possible, I would like to speak on Ivey's behalf to those who will be taking her into custody. While justice must be done, she is after all only a victim herself, manipulated by Grim. She requests that she keep her brother's body, and I would like to speak to the authorities to ensure this can happen."
"Will we be able to ensure a safe burial for our own dead colleagues here? After some more time communing with the Goddess tonight, I may be able to reach out to them and hear their final wishes, and can ensure they are able to rest peacefully."
"I will try to make all that you asked happen but my lack of authority here and Maanai's station might prove...counterproductive. I would nominate one among you to represent the party. We will remain in the background, " Adhida replies to Leela.
OOC what's the plan?
The sand skiff docks and the party is free to exit and explore the oasis of Thonis. It has no great structures like Ajara but it looks old, well established with traditional architecture and only lone mage spire near the center of the oasis.

While conversing with Ivey she asks:
"How long have you been with Grim? How did you and your brother fall in with the dwarf? Where did you want to go?"
