(OOC: I figured it was something like that, it’s cool. I’ve had that happen to me a few times too.)
Based on his ravings you all assume that Chittr’k’k is some sort of Rat God.
Natasha: You engage Donnar in conversation about the “great and mighty” Chittr’k’k “with many eyes” to keep him from noticing what Jacob is doing.
Jacob: While the rest of the party is keeping Donnar occupied, you attempt to get a better look at the wrapped cylindrical item. Unfortunately, the dirty blanket around it is too thick for you to determine what it is.
You sneak over to the pile of gear in the corner without being noticed by the ranting mad man. Even close up you can’t make out what exactly it is. You start to quietly unwrap the item and one of the many scurrying rats turns and sees what you’re doing. It lets out a high pitched squeal and hisses at you.
Donnar turns and sees you going through his things. He quickly becomes enraged. “What’s this?! You’re no friends!!! YOU’RE THIEVES!!!”
As he yells the word “thieves” all of the rats get on their hind legs and hiss at the party, ready to attack.
Donnar’s Thunderwave blows the cooking fire out and hits the three of you squarely. Its force pushes you back, along with the overcooked dog carcass. Stone and Penelope slam into the desk, breaking it and sending sketches of Chittr’k’k flying everywhere.
The three of you each take 8 points of thunder damage.
Donnar fumes. “Creel said that somebody would come for him, HE DIDN’T SAY THEY WOULD BE THIEVES!!!” Donnar turns to his Swarm of Rats and points at Jacob. “Get him my pretties!”
The Swarm of Rats crawl all over Jacob, looking for gaps in his armor to bite soft flesh.
Attack: 15 Damage: 10
They swarm all over you and cover your exposed skin with tiny sharp bites.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: Jeez 10 damage! That stings!
"Ahhh! Little shits!" I'll make an attempt to head toward the camp fire to light my torch with an outstretched arm, and wave it around to get them off of me with the fear of fire - I'd expect that to be my whole turn, but if I can I'll make a swing with Bread - use or ignore this roll as you adjudicate:
Attack: 18 Damage: 6 + Fire Damage: 4
(OOC: Oh for the love of god let that attack stand - it's a crit! A weak one, but a crit all the same...)
You look to the spot where the campfire was and realize that Donnar’s Thunderwave must had blown it out. You take Bread and attempt to scrape the rats off of you and you manage to kill a few. You do notice that because you are fighting a mass of creatures instead of a single creature, your slashing attacks aren’t as damaging as they should be.
(OOC: Wow, the dice really do hate you. Even when you crit, they won’t let you savor it.)
