Asking Mairshall, "Did you make this... How did you get here... Did you wake up in the cells also... How long have you been here..." Killian's mind begins to wander as the questions flood his mind He starts to think about his 2nd mate Willigan Ironhide, a hill gnome, although small and grumpy looking he was full of life and always had a joke ready for any situation. Killian hoped that these dark gnomes shared the same jubilation for life and he wasn't walking to his death.

Mara waits to hear how the gnomes will answer the question given to them by Killian, sitting down once she renters the light being made by Mairshall. She doubts they will have time for another rest but she will relax if she has the time to do so.
Dark moves closer to the lead gnome, “Why did you knock me out of the sky? Are there others in this place like me ... I mean flyers?” As he talks to the gnome he tests to see if everything is working properly and to double check for the darts he was carrying.

"Get here? We live here." The Mairshall says, as if it were a stupid question. "Generations have lived in this place, if you call it a living." The deep gnome looks then to Darkwing. "The only things I have seen that do not walk on the ground are spirits, and they do not abide with the living. It was only when you landed that we noticed you were one of the living. You are lucky we do not prey on helpless creatures unless necessary, a person of your size has several days of meat on them."
There is a low rumbling noise coming from the pillar, as the bottom ten feet or so of it begin to melt away into the ground, revealing a sturdy stone staircase on its inside. The stone appears to be made of a similar material to the ground in this room. "We should get moving before the spirits start getting feisty." The other deep gnome says, returning from the other side of the pillar. She then begins to make her way up the stairs, not particularly waiting for anyone.
Killian. Looks on as the stairs appear before him. His mind still flooding with questions, manages to hold off asking them out loud. Ignoring the fact that they said dark would make a good meal. He will follow directly behind the deep gnome as they enter the stair case.

Mara shivers at the mention of Dark being worth several days of meat. At this point she almost wants to turn around and go back the way the party had come, shaking her head though as it would be foolish to go anywhere alone here. With yet another shrug to the others she will follow after Killian and the first deep gnome that started up the steps.
Sim unity felt worried at the comment about Dark having lots of meat but ended up smiling as he pictured the dramatic Aarakocra as a giant chicken. His smile faded when he saw the faded, yet disapproving looks of his family off to the side. He hurried to keep up with the others and followed the gnomes inside.

Following the two deep gnomes, the group climbs a spiralling staircase for several long, quiet minutes. The magical light keeps the steps illuminated for those without darkvision as they climb further and further up. Eventually there appears to be an opening where the staircase ends, as it appears that the group is now in a huge cavern. The dark stone walls and ceilings have smatterings of blue moss glimmering with a dim light.
"We're out of the deadwood for now." Mairshall comments as the group follows him out of the spiralling staircase. "Welcome to our home, the cavern floor." He beckons to a passageway where the other deep gnome has already set off. "We want to make a move still, there is shelter not too far from here."

The cavern you currently reside in is around a hundred feet across, and the cavern has a dome-like curve, ending up around fifty feet high. The passageways look to be about 10-15 feet tall and wide.
"Any type of shelter would be most welcome. We have no idea on how long we have been here but with how tired we feel has surely been longer then a few hours." Mara says as she continues to follow them.
Leojym perks up a bit at the mention of shelter as the idea of rest fills his mind. "Thank you both for your kindness, you may have very well saved us all. Perhaps you could tell us a bit about your home? All we seem to know is that it is very old." The elf looks down at the moss and pauses just before taking some."Would you mind if I took some of this moss. I believe there is an arcane trick which uses moss like this to cast light."
"Don't take too much."The female deep gnome tells Leojym. "That moss is how we gather moisture down here."

Following the two deep gnomes down one of the tunnels, they head over towards another twisting tunnel. The pair head over to a large rock and begin to push on it, slowly moving the boulder. There is a smaller tunnel, around three feet in diameter, that is seem behind it. "In here." Mairshall tells the group, while the female deep gnome squats slightly and walks through. "I'll close up after you."
Mara grabs enough to be able to cast light and puts it in the pouch they had made earlier, still able to see thanks to the light made by Mairshall. Mara follows through the place they tell her to go into but only after other hace gone if first, her eyes scanning their surroundings.
Simmeat stays near the rear of the group, glad that the gnomes aren't making him jog to catch up like the others. He stares around at the moss and tunnels and gets a little more comfortable.

Most of the group have to crawl through the tunnel as they follow the female deep gnome through the smaller tunnel. After a couple of minutes of following her, the group sees that there is a small opening at the end, which leads into another cavern. There appears to be some sort of old dilapidated tent big enough for about four medium sized creatures, as well as a couple of carved stones nearby that seem to be underneath some more moss to collect water.
"Welcome to our home." Mairshall tells the group, catching up behind the group. "Feel free to rest here for now. We'll speak when you have finished resting."
Once they are all in the small cavern and have time to rest, Mara will find the most comfortable spot. "Before we go to sleep should we set up a watch just to be safe? I need to sleep but if near the end any of you need me to I can keep watch for a bit."
