Randaler, while awaiting his companions to join him in the new chamber, searches the looted provisions that are piled up in the south end of the cave to see if there are any clues, or items of interest.
i grabbed him while his arms are still bound. “You’re coming with us,” I say in goblin. I push him ahead of me. “Now walk. One wrong word out of you and you’re dead.”
Chad gets the goblin up on its feet and starts prodding it along the passageway to follow the others.
Kres and Randaler walk ahead, going into the next chamber to investigate. They begin to look around, Randaler checking over the provisions piled up in one corner, when a gutteral goblin tone cries out:
"NOW MINIONS, KILL THEM FOR KLARG!"
Springing from behind the crates are two goblins, which lunge at the nearby Randaler:
From the other side of the room, a wolf is unleashed from its chain as it charges forth at Kres with its vicious maw.
Wolf's Bite Attack:24Damage:9 piercing, and make a DC 11 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Behind the wolf, striding from behind a tall stalagmite is a seven and a half foot tall goblinoid with matted hair and carrying a large morningstar in one hand, and a javelin in his other. He yells as he throws his javelin at Kres,
"THOSE WHO DEFY KLARG WILL BE BONES FOR HIS THRONE!"
Klarg's Javelin Attack:18 Damage: 8 piercing, plus 7 bonus damage for the surprise.
Kres and Randaler are within Klarg's inner sanctum. Randaler has two goblins flanking him from either side. Kres has a wolf in melee with him, and Klarg is off to the far west of the room, obscured from the entrance.
Chad and Realgâr are taking up the rear, ushering the bound goblin forward and are approximately 40 feet away from the entrance to the room.
Haize and Mary are in the room with the rock pools, around 10 feet away from the entrance of Klarg's room. They see a wolf leap at Kres (10 feet into the room) and two goblins surround Randaler (30 feet from the entrance to the room).
The boxes are stacked to around 6-7 feet high, providing decent cover at the back of the room (south), where the goblins came from. In the centre of the room, there is the low embers of a used pit fire.
Kres will take the hits a fall to the floor with a thud before his turn starts, he will promptly die as he is now minus his full health in one turn of attacks.
Dead bird is dead. Next.

Randaler is so distracted by searching the boxes and other sundries, that he is completely caught off guard when two goblins jump out and attack him. Randaler takes the full brunt of their slashing attacks, and with a look of disbelief, he slides silently to the floor.
Klarg lets out a bellowing laugh as his comrades look over the two unconscious targets, stepping out into the open. He blurts out in goblin:
"KLARG IS PLEASED, LITTLE RUNTS! WE SHALL KILL THE OTHERS AND TAKE THEIR ITEMS, TOO!"
The two goblins begin to rummage around in Randaler's pockets for valuables. The wolf growls as it looks at the fallen aarakocra. Klarg grabs the chain and yanks the wolf back.
"NOT YET, RIPPER! KLARG WILL WANT WHAT IS ON THIS GIANT BIRD BEFORE YOU MAY FEAST!"
The goblin tied up tries to wriggle free futilely. "Master Klarg will kill you all and let his wolves eats you up!"
After that, it's Chad, Haize, Mary, and Realgâr to the rescue! The four enemies are in direct sight of the opening to the room, so Haize and Mary can see him directly.
OOC: Thanks Necmo! Not sure how this works. Assuming on my turn Randaler has 1 HP and is awake. Can he stand up and retreat back as far as possible? If so can he also shoot an arrow at someone?
OOC: From how I read the layout of the group, it sounded like I could reach you with my 25ft movement (dwarf) and still take an action to heal. You should be able to make a movement (assuming you do not provoke an AoO) and loose an arrow since they don't need to be reloaded. I'll leave it to poke to decide since I want to make sure I could reach you with my movement.
Only problem is I'm not much of a healer @ lvl 1 and can't do anymore.

OOC: Realgâr, as mentioned in the scenario part of post #246, you would need 40 feet of movement to get to the entrance of Klarg's lair. If you took a dash, you'd be able to get in beside Kres (who is 10 feet into the room, so 50 feet away), but not Randaler (who is 30 feet into the room, so 70 feet away). If you want to retake your turn based on this, feel free to. Also keep in mind if the two of you rush off to the aid of your comrades, the tied up goblin may have a chance to escape.
Chad rushes forward (now 10 feet from the entrance to Klarg's lair), using the patented Jim's Magic Missileas a waft of ethereal energy spells out the word JIM as it flies into the two goblins, the J smacking one goblin, while the I and M collide with the second. They both look badly wounded from the spell, the second goblin falling to one knee after being struck by an IM. (Goblin 1 = 3 damage, Goblin 2 = 6 damage)
OOC: If you would prefer to roll different damage rolls per Magic Missile then feel free to, I kinda like the idea that each missile is its own mystical energy, rather than three identical shots.
OOC: Ok it said he was 30ft from the entrance and I was 40ft from the entrance so I thought only 10-ish feet separated us. I didn't realize it meant 30ft on the opposite side. Sorry for the confusion.
Realgâr doesn't care at all about the ties up goblin and instead uses Dash to reach Kres and uses Lay on Hands for 1 HP on Kres.

OOC: Just to point out, a dash takes your action for the turn, you would not be able to Lay on Hands on the same turn. Sorry, it's a bad scenario, but that's how evil goblin ambushes go when they go well.
Randaler feels a cold sensation on the side of his face... Is that stone? he muses. Pushing and pulling sensations fills him as he he is rocked back and forth by goblins rummaging through his pockets. This is not how it is supposed to end, he thinks as visions of his early childhood fill his mind. Warm, happy days, with his parents smiling at him. Then the scene turns red as fire leaps up all around. A red dragon swoops down from the sky and lights the whole village on fire. "Mummy... Daddy... where are you?"...
(I'm going to give Haize an Mary a chance to post today. If there isn't anything posted by tomorrow I'll just assume control of them to aid the party.)
