Brecca turns to follow the man in to the room grunting appreciation at the offer of a drink. "Aye; and you sir look like you have seen hard action yourself. Your wounds speak of your honour".
Kryinor shifts to wolf form mid stride up the stairs to the ruined manor. As he lopes up the last stairs and emerges amidst the ruined walls he is greeted with the predawn light in the east and the many bird calls from the woods nearby. Sniffing and pawing at the ground all round the exit Kryinor strains all of his enhanced senses to find trail of the feeling do-badders.
Titus flexes the stave and strings his bow in one smooth motion, kindly asks Mirna and Nilsa to stay put, and then races of at superhuman pace for the stairs to the surface.
Spade and shovel dig earth and soon a decent hole begins to take shape. Eedim puts his spade down and blows out his whiskers, "This is thirsty work, lets grab something to warm our bones..." and with that he moves towards the tunnel to the hideout cavern.
Titus emerges and sees Wolf Kryinor snuffling around trying to pick up the trail, in no time both have the spore and follow it west to the edge of the estate, both the escapees have made a bee-line down the road towards the village.
Looking down the old neglected road they see the fist lights appearing in the windows of the houses in the town. All of the good people of Phandalin are waking to a new day, completely unaware they have desperate murderers seeking refuge among them...
Sildar looks at Breccha, he shakes his head, "I fear I am getting to old for this. Goblins ambushed us and made of with my good friend Gundren and his map. We were coming here, each on his own business. It made sense to travel together." He walks over to a rough but well made cabinet and pull a decanter and two thick glass goblets out.
"The took him further north somewhere, still not certain at the moment where he ended up...working on it..." He pours some of the thick red liquid into each vessel. "They took me back to their outpost for some sport, and the cooking pot."
He passes you one glass and then moves around his desk and flops into a large and comfortable looking chair. "I'd be in their bellies too, if it wasn't for some of Gundrens young proteges." He raises the goblet in a toast to the absentee rescuers. "A very near thing, they'd had me for days and were bored with my pain. A very near thing."
"If you'll excuse me," he says as he puts his booted feet up on the desk, "bad habit form campaigning don't you know," he chuckles and takes a long pull from the glass.
"I came here on the business of the Lords Alliance, clean up the place, deal with the local greenskin tribes and some bandits. Now I have a kidnapping and what looks like at least three conspiracies to contend with. A lot of work for an old abused soldier..."
As you see Sildar begin to relax a bit more and sink into his comfy chair both of you hear a commotion outside somewhere nearby in the village.
The old warrior sighs and shakes his head. "What the devil can that be?" he says as he reluctantly slides his feet off of the desk.

Once I lock onto the scent I give chase at full speed thinking only to stop the thugs before they cause anymore harm to the people of Phandalin, I take no notice of the townsfolk or what they might think of a Direwolf running though town.
If I spot one of them I will charge him and try to barrel him over and pin him to the ground, alternatively if they have fled into a building I will attempt to smash though the door to get to them.
Breccha nods as Sildar tells his harrowing tale then, upon hearing the noise, follows him as they hurry over to see what the cause of the commotion might be...
Titus and Kryinor head off down the hill towards the town.
Titus yelling and raising a general hue and cry is soon outpaced by the blood mad wolf. Kryinor follows the trail and realizes that at the edge of the village one trail becomes two! The escaping thugs split up; one headed further toward the center of town, the other south towards the Alderleaf farm...
Moments later Titus reaches the same spot on the road and the same conclusions.
No sooner had Eedim gone into he tunnel in search of booze to slake his thirst, he returns with a rush of feet and words, "Kargan, they've escaped! Those fool elves have gone after them. Towns where they are going mark my words..."
"Curse their miserable hides, i'll make them pay for this!! Eedim, go inside and secure all the entrances in case they double back here, and keep a watch on that Grobbi, he has much of import to tell"
Thick soled boots crash and crack through the forest as Kargan makes best speed towards town.
Kryinor tears off towards the Alderleaf farm in the grip of anger and passion.
Titus runs into town all pretense at stealth gone, now making enough noise to wake the dead.
As he runs along the road west towards the Phandalins center Titus sees the odd patch of fresh blood, perhaps the Thug had opened a wound in his haste to find allies? The trail soon swings north straight towards the Sleeping Giant. Ahead in the distance now clearly illuminated by the new risen sun, four Thugs stand guard on the covered porch of the Tap house. As Titus gets closer two of them to descend the stair, the largest of the duo a man with a shock of red hair says, "Where are your friends now little elf?"
Kryinor continues his mad dash towards the farm, ahead in the now bright morning sky he can see smoke.
A wild ranting voice carries clearly over the morning bird calls, "...teach you you nosy little wart! This is what happens if you stick that bulbous red knob into the business of your betters..."
Sharp wolf ears can now hear the crying of a young boy and a woman pleading, "Please, please let us go...not this...not like this!"
The wolf runs the last few yards and bursts into the front garden of the farmhouse cottage, "There you are pup, knew you'd not be far behind..."The Grey haired Thug hefts a hand axe and a sharp curved sickle, he crouches low and sets himself ready for a charge!
Kargan chugs determinedly through the woods, back along the trail the party followed late the previous day. The warm sun now heating his back. The wind carries the smell of burning wood to his nostrils not far ahead a building is on fire.
In the Townmasters Hall, Breccha follows Sildar to the front entrance. The ringing of sword blades can now be heard not far away.
Hearing the haunting sounds of the distressed family and the all too familiar smell of smoke, I run headlong at the thug all pretense to recapture him alive, gone.

Having made such a racket, I will stand my ground and pause awaiting the good people of Phandalin to wake and come outside their houses. once I feel people are looking our way
"Excellent! You have done our work for us! (giving the thugs a small sarcastic bow) The Town of Phandalin thanks you for identifying yourself and your accomplices. No need for any trials or the expenses of official executions now. You are convicted and condemned by your own actions. The good people of this town have had enough of your depredations and murders. Can you not see they arm themselves at this very moment. These people will not stand by and let Thel's murder at your hands go unpunished! You think you can win against this town united in their quest for vengeance? Your wizard has fled never to return, your bugbear heavies are all dead, only two of your brothers survived our assault merely because we allowed it. You think that you have any options here? Make it easy on yourselves lay down your arms and surrender now and submit to judgement by me or be torn apart by this towns folk and be burned in this tavern alive. All your torments on this town have returned to be visited upon you, are you prepared for that?"

Don, the whole speech is designed for two things 1st is to actually arouse the population and get them angry, thirsty for justice and to arm themselves, 2nd intimidate or bluff the thugs inot surrender.
This is most important as Titus feels that while the 2nd purpose - trying the bluff or intimidate the thugs as a whole to surrender and beg mercy, it is improbable unless he pulls off a screamer of an effort. But his mindset is to talk long enough to get more and more townsfolk there and have them whipped into a frenzy as this will greatly bolster his chances of the bluff working enmass or at least having a number of thugs decide to seek mercy and start blaming others for the misdeeds and thereby weaken their number sufficiently that the stronger more despicable thugs starting thinking more along the lines of escape than stand and fight. Also such thugs as those that please mercy can motivated to turn against their brothers to show their contriteness via slaughter of the others ie if you contrite then defend this town and show you new commitment to it as this will go in your favor

Titus makes his eloquent demands. As he begins his speech some of the people start drawing curtains and opening doors. Some rub eyes tired with sleep, others in work clothes look on with a mixture of disbelief, fearfulness, and hope. By the end several of the men folk have gathered up some sharp tools or old weapons and move to back the Elven ranger.
The Thugs seem to scoff at Titus' words, but they stop their approach, cautious now the ire of the people of Phandalin has been raised. The big red haired Thug even takes a step back towards the Tap house. Then the door of the Sleeping Giant opens...
"Do you simple folk dare to stoke the wrath of a mage of such power!" A dark robed human with a thick black beard emerges form inside, his arms raised. fingers splayed, and three glowing magical darts floating by his side. "Make any move to help this wretched fool and many will die..."
He knocks him down and his Jaw clamps down on the man. Teeth sink deep into his leg and he howls with pain.
The thug then tries to roll out form under Kryinor and stand.

Adrenalin gives him uncanny speed and agility. He rolls towards the woods, tearing teeth though the thick muscle of his leg and flips up to a crouch fists clenched.
"It'll take more than that you flea bitten mongrel..."
Kargan emerges from the trees and is greeted with the vision of a familiar huge wolf savaging the grey haired escapee form the manor. Behind them The Alderleaf farmhouse is well ablaze, the thatch almost totally engulfed in smoke and flame.
The wolf knocks the Thug down, but with seeming inhuman speed the bandit rolls away and springs up in a crouch with his back to the Dwarf...not 15 feet away.

Knowing that the fates are in the balance and that Corellon will decides what comes of Erevan's fickle will in this matter, with the dutiful heart of a soldier still beating this very instant I must do what I can to save this town and accept, Corellon's judgement when it comes.
Having already my bow at hand, I make a standing backflip to the rear and side whilst drawing an arrow and firing straight for the wizards mouth to make him eat his coming words.
