Titus looses his arrow and it fly through the gloom and strikes true!
The goblin struck through the heart pitches forward and falls into the stream, the splash covered by the noise of the rapid movement of the water. You all watch as the corpse tumbles past you pushed by the shallow running water.
The rest of the caves inhabitants, for the moment, seem none the wiser.
After checking and listening I'll start moving in the direction that I think has had the most recent traffic. (I would initially suspect without evidence to the contrary that the northern direction will be the most likely direction to head) If I'm in front I'll stow my bow and have my master hand on my longsword hilt. I'll be a stealthy as possible even though I'm not used to underground environs. Stealth roll 6 minus what they are for a Ranger trying to stealthy when not in the wilderness.
Kargan sticks his rather proud dwarf nose up the passage to the west. All he can really tell without attempting to climb the treacherous stony slope is that beyond the level smooth stone ten feet up is another flat stone area after ten more feet of loose stones. He thinks he might see an opening to the north and south, as if it were another passage, but he is not certain.
Titus, Kryinor, and Eedim move carefully further up the tunnel to the north. Titus follows it as it curves around to the east, and moves under and past he rough wooden bridge spanning the stream twenty feet above. He moves up tot he apex of the curve ans sees the path slope upwards gently with a few steps carved here and there. He then notices a goblin leaning against the cavern walls twenty feet away half way up another set of stairs. It does not notice him as he observes. The stream itself runs past the steps and the goblin and finishes in a rough stone wall with a small drain hole in it that the water sprays out of.
Titus thinks the wall looks dangerously unstable, and that there must be a large amount of water under pressure behind it.
The noise of the stream here makes it very hard to hear anything else.

Holding up my rather gorgeous elven hand to signal stop. then change it to my index finger. I motion up head and draw the finger across my throat and draw my longsword.
I start edging my way up the path picking up a stone with my left hand and hiding in the small alcove that has formed on the right hand side of the path just near the entrance to where the green scum is. Once there I'll toss the rock at the bottom of the stairs in an attempt to draw the little blighters attention and get him step out of position into the path.
As the rest of the party move up the northern tunnel following the path that Titus took the elf melds into the deeper darkness in the small natural alcove in the cave wall.
Titus picks up a stone and casts it cunningly in front of the goblin sentry.
The creature moves a short way down the steps within striking distance of Titus' elven blade!
OOC: Titus can attack and will get surprise on the goblin for on free round of combat before it can fight back or take another action.

As our simpleton goblin moves into range I thrust out two handed from my position in attempt to skewer the hateful little sod and end his miserable existence. Longsword to hit: 11 (and whatever surprise bonus is I don't know donnie) Damage is 11

Titus' mighty elven thews thrust the fey wrought blade at the goblin, it connects solidly, but hits a thick plate of oil hardened leather and fails to penetrate!
The force of the thrust pushes the goblin off the stairs and sends him stumbling and splashing into the stream.
The Kargan, Eedim, and Kryinor move up in time to see the goblin right itself and look at Titus in horror.
I tap eedim and titus on the shoulders and then point towards the goblin on the bridge ‘sentry’ i whisper.

I will hang back and follow the rest of the party alert and ready for enemies if the party starts to move i will follow those that go north.
