Syl cracks his back painfully and does a little stretch, then wipes sloughed ghouls skin off his mage armor.
Then he looks over at the Orcs. "First off, what's the word on big green ugly over there? Second of all, were you just sendin' me up the pole about that booze? Tell it true... I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel over here."

Krumar sings softly to no one in particular "In the stillness of the night, shadows start to play, A world of mystery unfolds as the light slips away. Moonlight casting eerie shapes upon the walls, A symphony of whispers, as the darkness calls. Cloaked in shadows, the unknown takes its hold, A tale of fright and wonder, in the stories yet untold. Oh, the dark, it's a canvas of fear, A playground for the phantoms that draw near. But in the shadows, there's a beauty to find, A dance of mystery in the corners of the mind......Well then I suggest Dabbert goes first"
Startled at the sudden retreat of the huge monster, Nefire tries to peer into the tunnel using the green glow to help her see, but she has lost sight of it. As Krumar starts to sing she doesn't pay it too much attention till he says for Dabbert to go first. She whirls around, "Hey!" and is about to admonish him when Dabbert does start to slip in the tunnel and she glares at Krumar. She then runs after Dab, not allowing herself to be left behind.
Krumar shrieks at Nefire's glare and then coughs to cover it. "Well I mean sure you could go in front but the big monster will still see Dabbert first" as he follows along far enough behind to avoid her axe and with his new orc friends
With the Greenstone Abomination having fled due to Krumar's Dissonant Whispers, the party is left alone...
Jaylan is the first to head after the creature missing, or perhaps preemptively fleeing, Krumar's performance. The performance goads Dabbert, who really didn't need much goading, into action... But it also angers the fun-sized fury of Nefire as well and with a "Hey!" she gives chase after the others. Whether due to the speed of the Abomination or the extra care and caution of the adventurers, they quickly lose sight of the creature.
Syl asks the rescued Orcs about the abomination, and about alcohol. "Ain't never seen that... thing... before," he hears. "Maybe heard it a few times," another adds. "From below. From the pit... Howls and screams echoing up." Regarding there being alcohol available or not he gets scornful looks and sighs. "We've been eating worms and drinking dirt water when the corpse things brought it to us... No, we have no alcohol stashed!"
Syl and Raevyn head off after the others, Raevyn being sure Pauwau is at her side... Krumar looks around and sees he's alone. With the Orcs. Which is why he left The Duldreg to begin with! Reluctantly he follows the others but he also calls for the Orcs to follow. He didn't want to be alone with them but he also wanted them protecting his back...
The tunnel twists and turns a couple times early on but then seems to go in a large arc while also consistently descending further down into the earth. Anyone paying sufficient attention and rolling a successful spelunking check (no such thing, know this or not as you see fit) would have the sense the journey brought them about sixty feet lower into the earth and basically right back under where they were. As you travel the tunnel gets wider and wider and also more natural and less carved or mined. The ground is uneven and less cleared of rock and rubble. It is not quite rough terrain but it could be if trying to traverse it too quickly or recklessly. The darkness would be absolute here though the party has brought some lights... (I believe someone had a lantern? If nothing else the Orcs in back can be carrying that or torches... It's dark but you can all see well enough. I don't wanna nitpick over lighting supplies, just more want to set the mood.). Eventually you hear running water. Not particularly loud or fast but a stead something.
As the now 20' or so wide tunnel opens up into a wide cavern you do indeed see a sluggish stream crossing the room in front of you, a small island (or perhaps a large stone) in the middle of it which seems to be alive with flittering, flying, oversized insects of some kind? Beyond that, just where your sight starts to fail you, you can see a hole in the ceiling - This indeed seems to confirm this cavern is directly below the chamber you were previously in and are connected by that gap... The stream does not appear quick or deep and should not be an implement to further exploring the room. For the cautious it's perhaps 10 feet at it's widest, easily jumped across. (I MAY ask for a roll if you're doing something tricky or fleeing or somehow rattled but otherwise it's just setting the scene again.)
You can explore any direction you wish but besides the bug infested island you see nothing of particular interest... Though you do hear some rather unusual crunching from the direction of the area below the hole in the ceiling... And at the next step further east than where Dabbert and Nefire currently are will cause a very loud, gravelly roar from the direction of the crunching - And that'll put us in initiative!! So before then feel free to correct me on marching order or exact location or any preparatory spells or anything :)
---
Notes:
Map wise, when you see it, I roughly tried to duplicate the hole from the other room... But really it narrows and from here wouldn't seem as big as I marked. It is probably inconsequential though. Honestly. I mean unless maybe you tried to escape that way or something... But I really wouldn't suggest that!
Raevyn's Bless is ended by this point. It took more than a minute to find this new room.
Jaylan's Hexblade's Curse has similarly expired.
Krumar is to blame, he's the one who made the abomination turn and run...
Initiative: Syl, Jaylan, Dabbert, Krumar, Abomination (wherever it is), Raevyn, Nefire, Ghoul6 (wherever it is) and then the Orcs...
"Way to send us on a wild ghoul chase." The masked Doctor may have glanced over her shoulder to Krumar, or was she just panning her head to look around. It could be hard to tell. Pauwau's nose huffs the air, seeking to confirm any direction necessary, should the loud crunching not be enough of an indicator.
Krumar shrugs "I mean I didn't expect us to chase it....We did our job...We have some stone found the thing terrorizing the cave, exit stage right alas here we are"
"Never leave a job uh...half done." Dab says gently as he examines their situation, admonishing the thought that they had 'done their job'. "We do it right the first time so we uh...don't have to come back and fix it again."
He looks at the bug things and mutters a curse under his breath as he begins to slink forward. There's a moment where it's clear he doesn't know what he wants to do...and then he shrugs and moves close enough to start swinging his halberd at bugs.
"Oh. Bugs. Right." Syl looks to once again blur the line between desire for reckless violence and for escape. He takes three steps toward the bugs... then decides to see the crossbow had learned its lesson after its demotion to club, and if it was ready to be a proper ranged weapon again. He loads a bolt and takes aim at one of the buzzing bugs.
Crossbow - To hit: 18 Damage: 8
"Hrmph. Damn straight," he says with a nod after skewering a bug.

Dabbert begins walking forward saying "May as well fight them here and uh...now."
Syl responds with "Oh. Bugs. Right." and shoots off a crossbow bolt just before Dabbert is in range to swing...
Syl's aim is true and his bolt hits dead center in one of the bugs, half the bolt coming out the far side and carrying the dead thing into the darkness beyond.
Dabbert moves up to the western edge of the stream, creek? Creek may be better. No matter. He swings out with his polearm once, then twice... Each swing smacks dead one of the insect swarm.
Three actions, three insect things down. This is going well...
Jaylan still gets an action before any of the monsters can go...
After Jaylan's action the two largest bugs - Mommy and Daddy perhaps? - get to act!
Momma Bug makes a beeline, so to speak, towards Dabbert but his reaction of flicking it away with his polearm easy swats and kills her...
Poppa Bug follows suit, in target if not in being swatted away, and attacks Dabbert! Sucker Attack vs Dabbert: 5 to hit... Misses!
And now Krumar is up! So Jaylanand Krumar to act then it's DM's turn again... :)
(There is Daddy Bug (SD) and then the numbered bugs (S#) - You don't have to specify which non Daddy Bug you are attacking as the are all basically in a clump. Until/ unless they break up into different clusters it's all basically the same thing...)
(So far Dabbert only one who moved forward and he doesn't have darkvision so visibility not expanded on map...)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Krumar moves a few steps next to the good Doc, shrugs and hurls a dagger figuring what's the worst that can happen.....I guess hit Dabbert but his aim couldn't be that bad.....
Attack: 7 Damage: 6
(IF he hits a bug)
As he nails one of the bugs he turns to the other orcs...."See that's how its done, now get to throwing!"
(IF he misses or hits Dabbert)
Seeing his knife missed his intended target he moves straight back next to Winug
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Raevyn marches forward, eyes scanning. She was intent on finding that abomination. While her eyes search, she reaches forward with a bit of a chill touch, her hand moving as if grasping for something, turning it over in her hand and squashing it, squeezing it between her fingers.
Since Dabbert decided to run off to play with bugs, a ghostly skeletal hand reaches for poppa bug, threatening to squash it.
Kumarhas to move a little closer to Bug Island to throw a dagger without disadvantage... But after hefting a dagger into the swarm of large bug things he can quickly scamper back into line with Raevyn. He is successful in his dagger attempt, it not only goes far enough but it does seem to impale and take a bug with it as it eventually skitters to the ground and then into the creek on the other side of the island... (One dagger lost unless you go digging around for it!)
Abomination!
You all hear a roar much like you heard from the abomination previously, it does seem to be coming from directly ahead, somewhere beyond the island. Just as the howl dies down you hear some crunching again, as if something was chewing rocks... And you make out what seems to be a faint green glow in the darkness. (Approximately 50 feet east of the island...)
Baby Bugs...
The bugs buzz and twitter and swarm... One of the bugs flies at Dabbert and attacks! (17to hit, 1damage...) (Reaction previously used to swat and kill Momma Bug.) Seeing the success of their brethren, more bugs fly at and attack Dabbert. (Attack rolls: 8 misses, 21hits for 1damage and is attached to Dabbert, 15 misses, 9 misses.) So 2 damage total and Dabbert has 2 bugs in his space and attached to him, 3 more just outside his space who missed. Poppa Bug was already outside his space waiting for their turn again...
Syl is also well within range so a small swarm head for him as well... First bug attacks (17to hit again, 1 damage... and attaches.) Then more swarm in (Nat 1 misses, 5 misses, 8 misses, 13just hits for 1more damage and attaches, another Nat 1 misses and 14hits for 1 damage and attaches.) So Syl takes 3 total damage, has 3 bugs attached and 4 just outside his space.
Next up is Raevyn & Nefire!
Raevynsteps forward to get a better look (how far? I moved you 10 but you can go further if you wish... But I'm expanding whats visible since I am sure the hand Orc torch bearers will be moving up shortly...) With a little summoning and spellcraft she sends a spectral hand out to try to squish a bug but they're flighty and flitty little things and they manage to dodge...
Moving a bit further ahead but avoiding the bugs, Pauwau sniffs ahead... His huffs and growls indicate to Raevyn that there is the abomination and one of those nasty undead things, but besides them and the bugs the wolf isn't really detecting anything. (He also has movement left, or you can change it...)
Nefire.... Does stuff!
(Not skipping our favorite halfling so much as moving things along that I really do not think will affect her decisions or actions just for quickness sake... Nefire's action come before anything before so if she does something totally bonzo the below could be retconned... but prolly not)
GHOUL
The remaining ghoul, on orders from the abomination, starts rushing forward! With their movement and using their action to dash they get just up next to Dabbert but can do nothing further. The Ghoul does not seem bothered by the bugs nor do they seem interested in it...
Orcs...
The Orcs move forward and spread out a bit, each is carrying a torch (of Winuh, Ogol and Wrug anyway) and sees that as their primary job. At Krumar's urging they do each pick up a ston e and chuck it towards the bugs... Attacks: 14, 10 and 14. The Orc's aren't half bad hefting rocks... Two hits and a miss. Now to figure out which they hit... Winug hits S4 and kills it! Ogol misses and growls. Wrug his S9 which is attached to Dabbert. The bug is killed by the rock squishing it against Dabbert and Dabbert takes 2 damage from the rock as well. "Sorry?!?" Wrug hollars out. "It was HIS idea!" He points directly at Krumar!
(On the bright side, Dabbert now only has 1 bug left attached to him....)
Soooo............
NEFIRE is up! (The Ghoul is not within range before your turn so don't attack it and we're good...)
Nefire hears the abomination. She swings her axe around, willing her eyes to see it, but she can't see that far. But she isn't going to let it get away this time. She starts heading that way, her first move to the SE to avoid the bugs, but sees that Syl is in a bit of trouble, so swings her axe at S14 on her way to her goal.
Attack: 25, Damage: 11
Then continues with her full movement of 25' towards the Big Green.
Nefire starts heading for the target but not so singlemindedly that she doesn't swat one of the bugs to a satisfying squanch! against the side of her axe! (S14 dead) Continuing on past the small swarm (the bugs don't take opportunity attacks) she wades into the waters getting so far as just south of the island. Anyone else would be soaked up to their ankles, Nefire finds herself knee deep though... ok, ok, maybe not quite knee deep. Somewhere on the shin though?
"Lousy bugs!" Syl shouts as we waves his arms at them, ineffectively trying to swat the one latched onto him.
Tavern Brawler Attack: 11 - Miss!
Surrounded, a strange feeling comes over him. He had already exhausted the mental energy he used to produce magical effects... but then suddenly he felt a little bit more left in the tankard.
